Saint Tropez Bistro
The St Tropez Bistro has been a family owned and operated restaurant in Saskatoon since 1979. The Bistro started as a small restaurant serving lunch and dinner on Third Avenue S.
In 1998 the family purchased a landmark building at 238 Second Avenue S. This historic building was originally constructed in 1906 for the Bank Of Nova Scotia, and with over 100 years of character and charm, has been a great home for The Bistro.
As our focus has always been cooking from scratch, and using the freshest ingredients available, in 1999 The Bistro started a little rooftop herb garden.
Over time the garden has grown to include a variety of heirloom tomatoes, peppers, and beans. In 2015 we expanded the garden even further, with the purchase of some land, south-west of the city along the South Saskatchewan River.
Our menu is inspired by the places we have traveled, and by what we grow in our gardens.
Sit back, relax and enjoy your getaway at The St Tropez.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Saskatoon. The food is always amazing and we love the atmosphere.
Nice quiet place for dinner with good friends.
Was a very quiet atmosphere in the restaurant
Ambience & decor were fantastic
Pork tenderloin special was excellent but side dishes were average
Gnocchi was excellent
St. Tropez is always a favourite for date night! It has a cozy, warm ambiance and everything is always perfect. The music (typically soft jazz) really sets the mood and the servers are very kind and professional. Add in the incredible, never-fails-to-be-delicious food, and you've got yourself an ideal night out. 10/10 would recommend!
A relaxed quiet atmosphere great for conversation
Hadn't been there for 20 years. Outstanding food and service! Vegetable medley best I've had. Each fresh garden vegetable cooked to perfection. A rare treat. And tourtière that would have made my French mother-in-law proud. We will most certainly be back soon!
Amazing food and ambiance! Top notch service! Drinks were tasty! Fresh produce and edible flowers from their rooftop garden. It’s a definite must if you are looking for a place to dine!
Best meal I’ve had in Saskatoon, bar none. Service was fantastic and the food amazing. Nicole was an outstanding server.
The food was really lovely and well done. The atmosphere is quite nice and romantic. My fiance had the pork which was okay but not amazing and I had the tourtiere which was amazing. Nice presentation and excellent service.
Nice place. Excellent food. Would return. Speakeasy upstairs was fun.
We've been dining at St. Tropez Bistro for decades. It is always excellent, but I think our recent anniversary meal was — even among the many brilliant experiences — among the best. My favourite place for yum, for service, for atmosphere.
Saint Tropez is the perfect place to take my wife for a very good meal, We both enjoy the total experience. Great food!! great service!!
Everything is wonderful. The food is delicious. Portions are 'european' so the only place I know where I can manage 3 courses.
Second time...will be back next time I’m in Saskatoon.
Our favorite Saskatoon restaurant. Have been going for years and never disappointed. Pleasantly quiet and genuinely friendly. The food is reliably excellent.
Food and service was really excellent. It was quiet, which was exactly what my husband and I were wanting to celebrate our 10 year anniversary
Celebrating our 50th anniversary with family, we chose Saint Tropez for it's quiet, friendly atmosphere. The food was so good; not a complaint in the group. Highly recommended.
Saint Tropez is always our go-to for fine dining. The food is always great and the service impeccable. I would highly recommend.
Small menu, but very nice choices. There was a very minor hiccup when my husband's entree was served with mushroom risotto instead of the carmelized onion mashed potato that he's ordered. He mentioned it, they immediately brought a large, piping hot side of the potato and we enjoyed them both. Worked in our favour if you ask me!
Stumbled upon the restaurant when looking for somewhere available for a business dinner. Such a charming restaurant, amazing service and outstanding food! Would highly recommend!
Excellent food, staff and food. Everything is prepared and cooked on site. Local and fresh ingredients. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere.
This is a quiet gem that more people should know about. At our visit, we were told they are opening a lounge section soon - can't wait!
The ambience was great. The food, not so much. The vegetables were terrific but the Saskatoon Berry Salmon was dry, luke-warm, and appeared to have been reheated in the microwave. The service was good until the server started talking to some customers who were clearly friends of hers; then she became a little slow to attend to us. A bit pricey, as others have mentioned. I don't know how they stay in business: there were only four people in the entire restaurant.
Came from Regina and wanted to find a nice place for dinner before going to Persephone theatre. Hadn't been to St Tropez for a number of years but had enjoyed it in the past. Was not disappointed. Great food, great service and great ambience.
Food, service, and ambiance was outstanding; however, the food portions were very small and we all left hungry. The price is hefty for the serving size; if you like smaller portions of delicious, expensive food then this is the restaurant for you.
We keep coming back to St Tropez as we love the food, ambience and service. They have their own rooftop garden and gardens elsewhere that they use in the restaurant. The food is fabulous and the bistro is beautiful. I’ve had the beef tenderloin three of four times and the salmon once. Both are delicious. They make a seriously decadent double chocolate cheesecake that is a dessert experience, bar none. I would highly recommend them.
First time at St. Tropez. Food was delicious and our server was great. Very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly.
First time at this restaurant and it was great ! The atmosphere was quaint , quiet and relaxing . Service was very good and the food was excellent . Will definately be back .
We have wanted to try out St. Tropez Bistro for a long time and finally made a reservation for Saturday night for date night for me and my husband. We loved the ambiance when we walked in, it was cozy, quiet, and had very attentive staff. Very cool decor, very inviting. They have a very good wine menu, but it is on the pricey side. The food was just okay, my husband's salmon was dry and the portions are small for what you are paying, very pricey. We aren't afraid to pay for good food - what we got was hugely disappointing. We will not return, unfortunately.
We have been going to the St. Tropez Bistro for many years and love it for it's quiet, intimate ambiance along with amazing food and service!
Had my sister and brother in law from out of town they very much enjoyed the experience
We recently dined at the St. Tropez Bistro - myself, my husband and my father in law. The room is lovely, nice relaxing decor, really cool building and a comfortable and elegant feel. The service was top notch - this is a family owned and operated restaurant and they simply shine! We all very much enjoyed our meals and even managed a delicious dessert! Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!
One of our favourites, St. Tropez is a great grown up dining room.
Really nice atmosphere, sweet window table, helpful & fun server, superb collection of culinary delights & wines... just great for catching up on things with a dear friend!
My wife & I hadn’t been to St Tropezz since they’d moved to their new location in 1998, we’d both loved their previous location on 3rd Avenue.
Excellent decor & ambience from the old Bank of Nova Scotia bldg.
My wife’s beet borscht was delightful, my St Tropezz salad, sweet, light & very flavorful!
My curried lamb with risotto was not too spicy, highly recommended! My wife’s Dijon mushroom chicken was the best part of her meal, she said, a bit surprising given how much she loves beet borscht!
The creme caramel for dessert was the perfect end to the meal, but not as good as her apple cinnamon tart, more like a slice of pie, really. The heavy whipped cream was the perfect complement to the tart filling & crust.
The only disappointment to the evening was the Penfolds Shiraz red wine. For what it cost, it was very disappointing. I don’t pretend to be a wine connoisseur, but I think any bottle of wine priced at almost $100 should be pretty damn good, pardon my language.
All in all, a very nice evening out on date night.
Have been a long time St. tropez diner - a much loved spot by our familyof 5 for special occasion dinners. Went for the new last Thursday of the month burger and beer. Excellent value and a delicious burger. Interesting beer choices available. Will definitely try to make at a monthly event for our family.
Great food and attentive service by one of the owners in a comfortable renovated historic building
Good central location, although street parking at certain times during the day is an issue. Pleasant, understated atmosphere/décor, in an intimate setting. Excellent food prepared with care with local ingredients. Friendly, attentive service. An unassuming gem in Saskatoon, well worth exploring/savoring
