Sammie’s is a little taste of old Italy in downtown Austin. It celebrates the great ‘red sauce’ institution—inspired by old school, legendary Italian-American restaurants. The space consists of a central dining room overlooking Shoal Creek and 6th Street, polished wood bar, Mildred’s Room (a private dining/wine room), and wraparound patio dining area. Food and Service were great! We got the mozzarella sticks, Cesar Salad, Chicken Parmesan and Lasagna. All were excellent and portions were huge! The wine list was overwhelming but staff helped us find what we wanted. I’d recommend sitting outside (with heaters) for a quieter experience.

Service was great, food was delicious and dessert was divine. The only suggestions I have is to improve noise levels. It was hard to have a conversation or even hear our server talk to us. Also, the tables are so crammed together, it was difficult for everyone to get around. Employees, managers and patrons had to play a game of tetris to go from point A to point B.

Braden was an incredible server and created an exquisite dining experience for me and my girlfriend for our one year anniversary! The food was incredible - we had the chicken parmigiana, Mafaldine With Mushrooms & Cream, & mozzarella sticks - everything was incredible, flavors were balanced & on point, and portions were filling. I had an Old Fashioned with Makers and it was the best one I’ve had in Austin! We will definitely be back for more - thank you!

The food was good but way over salted, which is not authentic Italian. It may just be my taste, but with quality Italian food, the food is supposed to provide the flavor, not salt.

It was crowded so having reservations was perfect. Waited almost 10 minutes before even getting offered water. The food was mediocre and expensive for the flavor and portions. They have a ribeye on their menu and they were out, that’s weird. Celebrated a birthday there, the small note and ice cream with candle was the best touch.

This was our first visit to Sammies and we will be back soon. Everything was perfect. Our server was great and she was very knowledgeable when it came to the wine list. The shrimp appetizer and the ravioli bolagnese were so flavorful.

Loved the vibe but was way too loud. Food was good but not worth the prices. $50 for Veal Marsala is absurd. Service was wonderful and server was gracious. My husband didn’t enjoy his dish because it was very acidic and they took it off the bill which wasn’t necessary but appreciated.

The food is great, it’s just pricy. $150 for lunch (including tip) for a shared app, shared salad, and two entrees. The Friday jazz lunch is really loud. A table got up and moved farther away because they couldn’t hear their group talking over the music.

We sat at the bar and had excellent service! Don’t skip the Sammie’s martini! The veal marsala is amazing as is the chicken parm (but it’s HUGE) and the Caesar salad is one of my faves in town!

Zach was FANTASTIC! He walked us through the menu as it been a while since I had been to Sammie's. Not only did he recommend great Starters, but helped me finalize my entree and most importantly - helped us when it came to our wine selection. He checked in often, and made sure we had a great experience!

Awesome spot, great vibes for a special night with your significant other or with friends and family. Rich in history and the plates were a delightful twist to a traditional Italian meal. 10/10 would go back. Dustin and the staff at Sammie’s were exceptional and welcoming hosts and made you feel like part of the family!

This place was amazing. The smells from it when we walked by the day before caused us to cancel another reservation to go here. And so glad we did. The Caesar’s was the best we have had. Every other course and bite was exceptional. The waitress gave recommendations that were spot on.
