We really enjoyed our dinner at San Lorenzo, the food was very good. My husband enjoyed the Halibut and I had the Linguine with Seafood Ragu, both very tasty! The service was very friendly and attentive and our server knew the menu very well. The next time we visit DC we will definitely return to San Lorenzo.

It would have been nice to know there was a special fixed mother's day menu. Either when we booked or when we were being seated. I chose this place because of the original menu. This wasn't available to us. Service was generally pretty poor and the food was decent but not fantastic. Very meh

Steak was overcooked (all grey) - sent back and received a replacement that was rare but was mostly gristle. Portion size was also small while the cost was fairly high.

Went for Mother’s Day and when my husband, kids, and I got seated, the waitress took about 15-20 to service us. So in my head okay it’s busy I get it. While we waited we asked if there was another menu because they only had given us a pre fix menu for Mother’s Day (was not advertised on OpenTable). My husband and I still ordered our food and the appetizers were good but very small portions. Now the entree was horrible, my husband got the bisceta (steak) and he told the waitress medium and he ended up getting well done. For me I got the risotto and I thought it was lobster or seafood risotto but I was wrong because I got pieces of chicken and one piece of lobster…also the sauce tasted like chef Boyardee cans. Dessert was okay. All in all, we had the worst experience and the worst food quality. Very disappointed because it had amazing reviews.

excellent neighborhood restaurant. Prosciutto was delicious, as were the grilled branzino and the tortelli pasta. Not a big fan of the panna cotta, but the tiramisu was well done. Nice wine list also. Our waiter was superb. One of the best restaurants I have found in DC.

My boyfriend and I came here on our first date and we had an incredible time. We came back 8 months later to celebrate me finishing up my first year in college and us moving in together! Everyone who works at San Lorenzo is always kind and attentive and the atmosphere was amazing and a perfect place for date night!

San Lorenzo was simply excellent. The appetizers, stuffed squash flowers for my wife, calamari and broccoli for me, were terrific. We split a generous pasta course, and a perfectly prepared branzino. The hostess recommended the wines from the exhaustive list, and both were excellent (if a little expensive, but in both cases it was a generous pour). The tiramisu for dessert was first-rate...ingredients and flavors distinct and perfectly assembled, without the wet, mushy, texture the dish can sometimes take on. We will be back. The restaurant scored on every level.

Food was excellent, prosciutto, pasta and steak was all very good. Service was good. Would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for the terrible choice of music, angry rock music, that was on a loop. Seems incongruent with an intimate Italian restaurant. They did turn it down at our request. Otherwise it was a good dining experience.

I’ve eaten at this restaurant plenty of times! It’s one of my favorites in DC! I think when the restaurant is completely booked, the servers tend to get overwhelmed. Nevertheless, food is always good, would love to see the menu start to seasonally change.

Great place that suffers from a so-so location compared to other downtown dining options. When I checked in for my 12:30 pm reservation, I was literally the only person in the restaurant. A few more customers showed up later, but not that many. With that said, the food and service were both top-notch, and I would recommend this place to others. I will definitely visit again.

We arrived right after our reservation time and were told our seats weren’t ready yet. As we stood by the door they asked if we wanted cocktails, and then decided there wasn’t enough space for us up front. They asked to show us to where we could wait- which turned out to be the hallway to the bathroom. After bring us a drink there we stood there for maybe another 15-20 minutes until our seats became available (about 30 after the reservation) Minor apology was made, but felt like they could have tried a little harder and comped a drink or a dessert for having to awkwardly stand in a hallway holding a drink They also forgot one of our sides. Food was good but a bit overpriced.

Had a lovely dinner at the bar. Great spot for a cozy Sunday night date. We had the calamari, zucchini flowers, and two pastas. All was amazing. The wine list is extensive and they have some really good whiskeys. Definitely recommend.

This place is our new, go to, reliably delicious restaurant. The service is impeccable and food amazing. We splurged and ordered the 6-course chef’s menu and every dish was great, a few over the top OMG tasty! Try the wine pairings as well. Although not listed on the menu, they have this option. All wines were great and most paired exquisitely with the food that it came with. Be prepared for more than just a little 3 oz pour. Oh no. They are very generous on their pours. I think the only thing I could say that could improve upon our evening was the timing of service. Sometimes the wines would come before the dish and vice versa, which is fine, but we wanted someone to explain to us what we were being served, as well as the wine, and why the wine was selected. That did occur, but sometimes we had to wait for someone for the explanation after the dish was quickly placed in front of us by a server. We love San Lorenzo and the details that are paid attention to. We cannot wait to bring our friends to share in this spectacular experience.

Food was very good. I enjoyed the taste of the Ravioli. I don’t recall if I had Tuscany style of food before, but it exceeded my expectations. The server was friendly and able to make great suggestions! It was my wife’s birthday and they made it special!
