Presentation of dishes - especially the risotto - was definitely lacking but taste was excellent. Noise in the front dining room was difficult to contend with for a party of six and conversation was adversely impacted.
Service was excellent.
Fantastic, quant, great service, and amazing food.
Always delicious!!! The Insulata Rustica & Lobster Ravioli is my go to order, every time 😉
Sapori is hands down my favorite Italian restaurant in Chicago. The service never fails to be spectacular and the food is always cooked to perfection. It is always at the top of my list for restaurant recommendations & I'm already ready to go back.
Always an incredible meal
Food is best among Italian restaurants, Highly recommend the Veal, the home made pastas and the desserts. Service is attentive and responsive to the diners. A great restaurant to enjoy a friendly meal at reasonable prices.
Went on Mother’s Day and the food was amazing...no limited menu and the service was as good as the food...Mother’s we’re given complimentary roses...Chef Anthony even stopped by the table and said hello to everyone...best Seafood Risotto I’ve ever had.
The pesto gnocchi (and everything else) was incredible as always.
Great service, food, and ambiance. Would definitely recommend.
The food was fantastic. Restaurant has nice feel, although not fancy.
They were really great. Food was awesome. The staff were amazing. They even put my name on my menus
Very good food! Reminded me of some of my favorites in Boston's North End. The server was busy but attentive. The only drawback - it was very loud and hot in the restaurant.
Wonderful service from the moment we walked in. The cocktails were great and the lasagna even better.
great food and drinks! have been a few times and ordered various things from the menu-never had a bad meal!
Sapori is a great local restaurant. It's in an old building and the tables are cozy. (In fact, they're a little too cozy because they are too closely set together.) The server we had was excellent: there when we wanted him, not there when we didn't. He was very prompt and thorough and was just the right combination of friendly and effective. Same for the bus persons: bread and water were promptly served.
Food was quite good. We started with grilled calamari. It had been tenderized properly and tasted great. (You can't taste the calamari if you have it fried.) My companion had spaghetti and seafood and I had sea bass (brazino). Both were really very good. Only three things I'd recommend: a slightly larger by-the-glass wine-list, tables spaced a little more - I kept backing into the very nice young women sitting behind me - and sound-absorbers for the walls. Although there were some good wine selections, there just wasn't enough by-the-glass selection. Our table was really small and yet my companion and I could hardly hear what we said to one another. It was really loud and then the people at the next table got hammered and louder and louder .... Other than that, Sapori is outstanding and I would go again hoping for just a bit more quiet. Great food, great service.
You don’t want to miss this one!!! The best veal osso bucco I’ve ever had!! Started with mussels and bruschetta both yummy! My Hubble raved about the spaghetti and veal meatballs. Our guests loved their shrimp and the Italian sausage with pasta. Panda cotta finish was divine as was the tiramisu (which I usually don’t care for).
The service here is amazing! Which is the cherry on top next to the great food they have to offer. Best Italian food in the city!
We love Sapori! We always have fantastic service, the food is phenomenal, and we love receiving the hand written letters in the mail.
Food and service always excellent! Great value.
The food and the service at Sapori is always amazing!
My favorite italian place in the city. Very good food at a great price. Service is always good. Nice atmosphere. Would recommend for dates, casual dining, or anything else.
The pastais always fresh, delicious and plentiful! The service is appropriately attentive, friendly and helpful. We always enjoy going to Sapporo Trattoria ourselves and with family and friends.
Huge portions, great tasting food. You can't go wrong with veggie lasagna, gnocchi & lobster cappalacci
My birthday dinner with my family. The food is excellent and they atmosphere is so warm. I love coming here.
Second time here and will definitely be back. The food is fantastic. The noise level can be high as the rooms are packed which also tells you how great the food is. And the staff...fantastic...right down to the manager or owner who took great care with my older mother.
We have been going to Sapori for almost 15 years and it just gets better and better! Our favorites are: Stella salad, zuppa seafood pasta dish (my husband gets it spicy), lobster ravioli.
The food was great! Ambiance perfect for our group.
Our food was delicious, waiter was excellent and great atmosphere too!
Good food and plentiful. Attentive and friendly wait staff. My only issue was that it was incredibly loud.
We had a reservation at 7:45 and arrived around 7:40. We were called to be seated at our table by 7:56 and didn’t mind the wait. We were able to get a glass of wine at the bar while we waited. I had their red blend and it was delicious! We ordered the mussels as an appetizer with the traditional white sauce. It was delicious and were finished the entire thing. I could have drank the sauce it was so good. I ordered the gnocchi for my entree and it was great. I wasn’t a huge fan of the chicken because it was a bit bland. My mom ordered the lasagna and it lived up to the hype! I will absolutely be back for that lasagna.
We really enjoyed it. The waiter was great and the food was wonderful. The portions are enormous. It was enough food to bring home and eat the next day. The waiter was kind enough to split a salad in 3’s and it was still a good size.
I would highly recommend.
Sapori never disappoints! Gnocchi is the best I’ve had in the city
Food was great - Good wine selection. A bit of a wait, even though we had a reservation. No space for people to wait and very small bar (they had us wait with a number of other people in a stairwell). Place is stuffed with tables; so crammed that our chairs were touching the ones occupied behind us. Server seemed very overwhelmed; forgot several things we ordered/asked for like a straw and my salad. Again, the food was good but would not consider again for a "couple's" meal and give it three stars for overall dining experience.
Great food, good vibes
Always have a great time at Sapori. Great food with outstanding service. Will be back soon!
We liked it here. Food was decent and fairly priced. Portions were generous and the atmosphere was old world Italian.
Megan was an awesome waitress.
This is our go-to restaurant after a movie at the Landmark. The food is reliably good and the service is terrific. Always friendly and accommodating. This last time we went with friends who had not been there before and also enjoyed it. One issue though is that the front room and back room can get loud. We were fortunate to be seated in a small side room which was perfect for conversation. The muscles and brussel sprouts salad were terrific as was the salmon dinner that two of us had. One of our friends had a pumpkin ravioli in sage butter sauce that was disappointing. We have had it before and liked it but this time there was almost no sauce. Other than that it was a great dinner and evening. Highly recommended.
Food was very good....huge portions. Loved the decor and atmosphere. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back.
