Taste profile of the sphagettini was excellent but regrettably the actual pasta was over cooked!....lamb meatballs delicate, did not hold well in firm wholeness and simply not enough of them for a main entre.....other than that, the event went well....

We've been to Sash many times and typically it has been outstanding. This was a very disappointing dinner. I ordered the Ahi Tuna as my main. When it arrived at the table I was taken aback by how small the piece was. It was a triangle with dimensions of 1.5 inches each way. If it was more than 4 ounces I would be shocked. For $50+ not what I was expecting but adding to the disappointment was that the mashed potatoes with it were cold. By the time the waiter returned to check on things I advised them of this and they offered to replace the potatoes but I had already finished the tuna and there was no point. My daughter ordered the lobster risotto and unfortunately it was tough and overcooked. She opted not to bring this to the attention of the restaurant. Maybe they were just having a bad night but we do not intend to rush back to the place that was previously our go to for a good dinner. I would still recommend it based on our previous experiences in the hopes that this was just a one off.

For the most part, food was high quality, but fairly traditional menu items. Black cod and lamb chops were cooked to perfection. The sides were disappointing; the fries were served droopy and cold, and the Mac and cheese had a plastic taste. Too, the bread tasted as if they bought some loaves from a grocery store and served it up. The one big issue, however, was the slow arrival of the food. We wait 30 minutes for our appetizer and the same or more for entrees. And the restaurant wasn’t full! I guess I don’t fault service, but the kitchen staffing on that. So pretty traditional menu items, some food served unevenly, and issues with staffing. I don’t see a reason to come back.

The food was spectacular. Couldn't praise it highly enough. The service was outstanding. When we arrived there were only a couple of tables with diners. We were given a top table in front of the window. Within an hour the place was almost full and the noise level went up accordingly. But that never impacted the level of service. I had the rock shrimp which were amazing and the special was veal chop with chanterelle mushrooms. It couldn't have been better. My companions had the lobster with bisque and one had the veal and the other had tuna tartare. Also terrific. For dessert we ordered the banana soufflé which was disappointing. It didn't taste like banana or even soufflé. So we ordered the strawberry and rhubarb tart and it was excellent. For drinks we had the Pinot Noir from Le Clos Jordanne which was spectacular and paired beautifully with the veal chop. Some lattes finished off a meal that was not to be forgotten.

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Sash last night and in particular were the impressed by the timely and attentive service provided by Sarah and sommelier Lory. While on the expensive side, the quality of the food makes Sash a perfect place for a special occasion. The banana soufflé with a candle capped off a beautiful birthday celebration.

The food was just ok, however it does not represent the high price we had to pay. The waiter was very rude pushing to order quickly, he seemed impatient and wasn’t helpful. I do not recommend coming here.

Noise level increased as evening progressed and it appeared that the music level increased at the same time. If planned that way, not sure why. A number of patrons were wandering from table to table talking quite loud. Guy at table next to us was proud to show his new sneakers to everyone in the place it seemed. Not sure we will be back as food was fantastic, the rest, eh?

Excellent food and service but very disappointed with the extremely overpriced wine list. If we go back, we will definitely bring our own bottle from our collection, as even with a hefty ($100) corkage, this is much better value than paying the very inflated prices on the list.

We have been dining at Sash every since he opened and he and his staff never disappoint. The diverse menu of new inspirations and classics has something for everyone. I think we’ve tried pretty much everything on the menu between my family and I, and each and ever dish is truly a culinary experience. His passion and creativity shines through in his dishes. The staff is above and beyond friendly, efficient and accommodating, even when they’re at capacity. My favourite part of the evening though is when Sash comes out and takes the time to talk to his customers like they matter. This is what sets him apart from others, the icing on the cake!

High-end midtown restaurant, Sash serves delicious food (we had oysters, lobster risotto, pork chop with stone fruit purée and lamb chops) in a friendly yet white linen vibe. Attentive service (thanks, Kabir!) and knowledgeable sommelier. Great view of the Summerhill LCBO!
