Everyone was so nice and caring! The food was also amazing!
My first visit to this establishment was an AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!
Date with wife
Loved the ambience. Food was great and amazing service. The only con is that when I received my oxtails the risotto was cold but the oxtails were hot. My wife's bed of rice that was served with the red snapper was cold too. So maybe the plates were sitting out for a bit. Other than that we had an enjoyable meal.
We couldn’t celebrate our anniversary New Year’s Eve to unforeseen circumstances but we celebrated yesterday and the experience we had here was amazing. From the hostess, to our waiter, the food and the ambiance were all amazing
We were seated promptly. The dining area is lively and nicely decorated. I found the chairs to be a bit too high for the table. The cocktails were fantastic. We ordered the autumn salad, shrimp & grits, oxtail, and mac & cheese. The autumn salad was not worth the price at all. It was a handful of baby greens with a little goat cheese. Very small. The shrimp & grits had great flavor but the grits were cold and dry. Only had 4 pieces of regular sized shrimp, disappointing for the price. Mac & cheese was mediocre at best. Oxtail was delicious but the risotto was underdone and bland. I feel like the prices would be justified if the food was prepared well but unfortunately that was not the case.
Food and service was good. But getting outfit checked at the front was a bit demeaning.
I took my boyfriend here on an impromptu date and to both our surprise we were met with exquisite service and politeness from the time we entered to the time we left. We had several cocktails that were also amazing. My favorite part of my meal was the sweet potatoes they were so good. But literally everything was too notch. When I find myself in Detroit again I will certainly be back there.
Awesome food and awesome service
It was just too pricey for the amount of food you get. And the food was not that good.
New Years Eve dinner with family. Great atmosphere, amazing food and wonderful service! Will be back again!
My son was here from Chicago for the holiday and this was on his to do list. I was a little disappointed because this was my husband and my first date and I received a gift card from one of my stores Irresistible boutique. I ordered the catfish and I do understand that there is difficulty finding the fillets so I was kind of shocked that they were smaller than usual. My greens were lukewarm and it kind of tasted like the bottom of the pot. My son however enjoyed the ox tails but I took it home and allow my husband to warm it up and to eat the remainder of it. I was a little disappointed because we had been to SavannahBlue twice then we’re very pleased.
We selected Savannah Blue to dine because of the ambiance, delicious meal choices and great service. You did not disappoint!
The food could have been seasoned more. Mac and cheese wasn’t seasoned at all, and the catfish was small and it was over seasoned actually.
Wonderful ambience and great-tasting food.
This was my second experience with the establishment. My initial was fine and this was ok. I assume due to Covid 19 a lot of changes were made such as various menu items were omitted. I ordered the plate with catfish and was told catfish was too expensive so would I be interested in perch as a replacement. Just felt like items were overpriced for the portions given. The server was friendly and knowledgeable.
The food definitely taste different from when they first open.
All was terrific
The food and service was top notch. I ordered the braised oxtail and it was by far the best I’ve ever had.
Food was delicious! They were kind enough to seat us early, as we arrived ahead of our reservation. I wish they had some GF options. Corn muffins can easily be made with GF flour
Ambiance very nice. I had hoped for a piano player during dinner to add to the atmosphere. However in light of the on going pandemic a piano player may have been difficult to hire. Although maybe the music started after we departed. My sister described the southern favored tasty entrees as "comfort food. " The waitress was friendly, informative and all round excellent.
Was looking forward to their catfish, but they were out and substituting perch. Disappointed
Otherwise, everything else was outstanding!
The atmosphere was beautiful. The service was good. Food could have been seasoned more but it was hot and we did not wait long. Overall good experience
The ambiance, food and the service was phenomenal! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting. We ordered one main dish and they split it for us and it was absolutely perfect portions. Drinks were great too
This restaurant is truly a hidden gem in the city! From entering the door to being seated the experience was great! Will definitely be back!
Great dining experience! Food was great, drinks were nice and service was on point!
The ambiance is wonderful. I like the dim lights and art work. But the food was mediocre at best. I use to come here often, maybe the cook and owner have changed idk. But the Mac & Cheese had a funny taste, the catfish was not seasoned, the greens were ok, but not seasoned, the best thing on the menu was the chicken. The chicken was moist, crispy, and seasoned to perfection. I probably won’t return $80 for mediocre food not worth it. Oh and cornbread plate had a hair on it.
Great time at SavannahBlue. Great food + Great service + Great music! I will definitely return my next trip to Detroit.
We had the dry rub wings as an appetizer (SO GOOD!) and I had the Shrimp and Grits, my husband had the fried chicken. Everything was so flavorful and SO good!
Wonderful dining experience! Loved the intimate setting, hospitality & service. Food is "D-Licious" 1 of our favorite finds pre-covid & did not disappoint since its return!
1st time for us.
Ambiance was simple, warm and nice. Loved the music. The food was good. Service was friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate. We will definitely be back👌🏾
My wife and I had dinner over the weekend here and the food was amazing!! She ordered the Ox-tail and I ordered the catfish both were excellent. I had greens for my side and sweet potatoes and they were to die for. It was my first time ever having greens and they knocked my socks off!! My wife has risotto as her side and it was so damn tasty!! I forgot…the cocktails alone were some of the best in the city. So so so good.
From the hostess to the bartender and waitress, everything was great!
Other than the catfish tenders being a little rubbery, the food was great, the service staff was very pleasant and hard-working, the music was great, for an upscale experience it was priced decently. Overall well worth it, and unlike most places it was even better than I expected.
This is a unique downtown Detroit experience. The tables are well spaced and the decor is beautiful. The food was extremely unique and delicious. Our waitress was very friendly as were the people who greeted us. Everyone wore a mask. The salmon and shrimp dinner and the crab appetizer ....YUM!. The berry dessert was out of this world! My only issue was that we wanted tea with dessert and it seemed they aren't used to serving that. It came out luke warm. It is also quite loud in the restaurant. The choice of music was excellent but it was just a bit too loud and once the restaurant was full, we had to yell in order to hear each other. I would highly recommend for dinner before going to the opera or the Fox theater. It is a short walk away.
The food isn’t worth the price. Ambiance and staff were great. The appetizers were tasty. The bread was dry and cold. I ordered the Red snapper which was fried too hard and lacked seasoning, the fish was laid on a bed of over cooked rice. Over priced
Seriously the BEST food and service! Our appetizer came out *slightly* late (their words, not ours!) and the server offered to buy the app and bought us two shots as well! A must stop in Detroit. Wonderful food and atmosphere. The oxtail and crab dip are to die for, and the cocktails were top notch. Real southern cooking right in Detroit.
The service was great and the servers were very attentive.
The food was so delicious! We had the warm crab dip, half bird, and catfish fritters. Drinks were strong! Service was so quick and everyone was so nice!
OMG! I randomly picked this spot for din. . .. It was the Best choice I made in a long time. I ordered and the rest was heaven. Very very good . From the time you walk up to the door they greeted us with a warm welcoming staff, food was of great portion, and very seasoned and delicious food. )I may have gotten caught licking my finger once! very attentive and accommodating service. (bartender even turned the TV to The Voice so we could watch A Girl Named Tom. compete!! We Will return until I have tried the full menu!
