The Sawmill Prime Rib and Steakhouse stretches over 20,000 square feet with a seating capacity of over 700 dining room, lounge, banquet room, and patio combined.

We've been to the Sawmill a few times in the last six months. Quiet venue, typically no wait. Food is good but not stellar for the price. Menu could use a revamp, as vegetarian member of our group only had one option for dinner.

I made the reservation on a whim, to treat a friend for her birthday. No experience with Sawmill at all. It was one of the most amazing evenings we've ever had. The server (wish I had got his name) was beyond amazing! Just SO much fun. The food was simply divine. The restaurant is clean and so comfortable feeling. It was just simply amazing. We will most certainly be back. Thank you so very much for a memorable experience!

Our waiter was extremely polite and made the experience great. He was attentive, catering to our requests and stopping by regularly to top up our drinks. The food was lovely, with the steak the highlight of the show. Will definitely return again.

We came here for piano night. We reserved a table before we go there. The waiter took us till the end of table by fire???? It's still have tables in front of the stage. Now we question WHY we need to reserved a table when we didn't have a good seat. Should we just walk in next time and we will get a better table? We switch to the bar after we so unhappy the situation. The bartend didn't server us good either. He gave my husband wrong drink 2 times and also no water. The chicken wings was over cooked very bad. Also the bartender's attitude was not nice when we looked for him to pay the bill so we didn't tip him. Not a good service in a good restaurant. Very disappointed. Everything is not good but the show.

Great food, service and ambiance! We had gone out the evening before to another restaurant and were very disappointed with our prime rib meals. We hesitantly ordered prime rib at this restaurant and were extremely pleased. Prices were comparable. Definitely return when back in Edmonton.

Our server was excellent & attentive, but the Sawmill needs to renovate & fix many things such as broken tiles, well-worn couch cushions & Ladies washroom door glass, for starters. This is the new version of the Sawmill in the old Moose Factory location on Calgary Trail. The burger, beef dip & Reuben were okay as ordered, but one of the dishes, the Californiacation had rubbery old rice & when it was replaced it was the same, just hotter. We aren't giving up on the Sawmill, but we would like to see improvements before returning.

We arrived at 6:00 and we seated immediately. It took about 10 mins to order drinks. Not a big deal but that’s a while. We ordered appetizers and mains about 10 mins later. We didn’t see our server for another 30 mins when I was finally able to order another drink. 45 minutes for appetizers to come out and they were mediocre. Crab stuffed mushrooms and bacon wrapped scallops. Our mains came out 5 minutes later. We weren’t even done the appetizers yet. Our mains were cold. The prime rib still had the silver skin on it and was difficult to cut and chew. The rib eye was mediocre as well as cold. The bacon and horseradish baked potato was a frozen reheated type of potato and the Oscar sauce was cold and gloopy. Our server was mia the whole time. Overall very disappointing.

One of the few non-franchise options for a great sit-down meal. The service was friendly but it took a while to be served and to close our bill. Meal delivery was friendly but the staff did not know who ordered which meal. Ambiance comfortable but cold from the air conditioning. Food delicious.

Belated birthday with my family. Ordered the Rib Eye steak. Must have cut off 3-4oz of fat, and the steak was maybe 1cm thick. To call it a 12 oz steak was debatable. And I eat my fair share of rib eye and this was especially an unworthy cut of meat. They did agree to take 20% off the steak but it wasn’t enjoyed. Brussel sprouts, deep fried, but whole, so the inside was near raw and the outside cooked. Again, didn’t enjoy. Simple to cut them in half before frying and they’ll be cooked throughout. Lastly, I found the server to be a bit jaded and awkward. Tried to excuse himself for being new, but at the end he took my daughter’s order of an ice cream, took my partner’s dessert and walked away, assuming that was it. So I skipped dessert and will skip returning likely. After years of enjoying the Sawmill at all their locations, some of which are closed this was the worst I’ve had.

The turkey was just horrid. I don't know what type of turkey was used but it was really bad. Vegetables, over roasted, gooey mashed potatoes. Not great. The service, though a wee bit slow was excellent. Our waiter was awesome, he seemed to be doing a lot, while others in the restaurant were kinda screwing around. A few with a bad attitude, specifically the hostess. Not a nice welcome, short, seemed bored, and disinterested in anything going on around her, including the patrons. Like I said, the waiter was top self, thank goodness you have him, otherwise the evening would have been a complete flop.

1. The light was so poor we could not read the menu. 2. 80+ aged adults find the bar stools difficult to get into. 3. When the so called music is so loud, people have to shout to be heard which raises the noise level even higher. Not great with hearing aids. 4. Our server was very helpful and courteous.

Something more than a turkey roll would have been nicer. Perhaps an actual turkey? Maybe dinner roll and dessert included? Just seemed like a glorified TV dinner. Not sure the purpose of side plates, except as table Filler, they went unused. Some form of table decoration? Seasonal? Even a candle? Service was great and the restaurant looked as it always does.

I took my sister out for Thanksgiving dinner. I had had previous pleasant dining experiences at different Sawmills in Alberta but this one was not so positive. My concerns included the following: the salad that started the meal was minuscule, the mashed potatoes appeared to be microwaved as my first bite burned my mouth and throat and the whole meal was too strongly seasoned with salt. I spent a lot of money for this meal and it did not meet any of my expectations. In addition to this when I visited the washroom it was in a terrible condition. The soap dispenser was broken and there was paper towels spread on the floor. I will not visit this restaurant and will not recommend it to anyone.

The Sawmill is a solid dining experience. It has been around for years and they know how to entertain. Our server made the difference-attentive while not in your face. Thanksgiving turkey was decent although the stuffing was marginal. This knocked off a star in the overall rating. While stuffing is a very personal taste kind of thing, it was dry. We have had Christmas parties there for the past ten years (or another one of the other locations) they were all decent.

First time eating here. It was just an after work meal with a buddy who loves the Sawmill Sesame Steak Sauce! The steak was so tender and juicy. Loved every moment of the dining experience! We also bought 2 bottles of the sauce to go.

All servers were focused on guests. Sterling was our server and he was great. Conscious and just the right amount of attention and repor. Food was all cooked to order and tasted great. Could have had a little bit more ambiance in terms of slightly livelier music maybe bit otherwise good!
