Arrived slightly early for reservation and taken directly to our table. That was the best part. Lengthy wait before our drink order was taken, and short wait to get them. Ordered food, then after 50 minutes I told our server we had to leave for theatre as the show was starting in 25 minutes, and we had been there for about 1:20. She checked and said the food would still be about ten minutes as it was up after a big order. Frustrating as everyone around us whom arrived after us were finishing their meals. Server offered to pay for our drinks herself, and I clarified herself, not the business, we paid for our drinks, questioned the management policies and ran to to grocery store for some dinner then made it to our seats with moments to spare. Nice family dinner out and theatre event spent eating deli food in the parking lot. Repeat customers who won’t be back.

I was looking for a pub-style resto that had vegan options and craft beer. The Sawmill had both. The Impossible patty done on a grill was very good. Nice selection of Vancouver Island craft beers. I would go back.

We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Food was good, but where we were seated there was a cold downdraft from above. We requested a move to a warmer table but we’re told those other tables, which were empty, were reserved. Very disappointed.

We always love it here although last night both my buddy and I had hamburgers and there was definitely MSG in the food this time. I have a reaction every time it’s in food and my buddy noticed it as we left. Food is excellent so you don’t need MSG. It may be in a spice used but still very noticeable

Our culinary team agrees that MSG has no place in our kitchen and have been going though the ingredients of anything not made in house to insure this.

Nice place. Easy parking, nice to be able to do online reservations, our group of 8 had a great time. Food was good but not outstanding, loved the house salad that came with my burger, great fries and lots of them on hubby’s plate, great service. We’ll be back.

We haven’t been here for a few months and we were pleasantly surprised. The food has definitely improved! It was a full house so was a bit loud but otherwise we all enjoyed our meals and our server was great 😊

I've appreciated this restaurant in the past. Things have not been great more recently. Service was slow and the order was incorrect. The bathroom was not clean. The facility is becoming very worn. The brunch menu was uninspired when it used to be great. Sigh.

Overall it was great but the servers were so busy that they didn't have time to even take a moment. The food was put on the table and she said is there anything else I can get you and that was all. She didn't get back to us during our meal except to bring the bill. I feel you need more staff.

Food was tasty but not exçeptional. With a heat wave going on, the air conditioning could not keep up and it felt like about 30 Celsius inside. Very uncomfortable to the point of sweating.

No A/c on a 30+ degree day. Very hard to enjoy dinner when it's so hot. I felt foe the staff working in the heat. Had we known about the no a/c we would have gone somewhere else.

Lots of staff mingling about when we arrived, about 530. One on the phone. Sat inside. No patio available. Sat for 8-10 minutes before we stopped a waitress and asked water. Our server showed up minutes later. She was great once she got going. Food was good, and the value was good. Drink prices good too. Owner should be aware that your review would be better if service improves. We were almost ready to walk. I worked in the restaurant business. Your front of house staff need to be better. Maybe manager needs to be aware of what is going on, hard to tell if there was a manager.

Great, friendly prompt service. We had a reservation with Theatre to follow, so our order came quickly. Very tasty food. I loved the “fresh” tasting Pizza. Highly recommend this eatery.

The service was very good. We did not have to wait to be seated or to have a waitress take our order. The restaurant was busy but not so noisy you couldn't have a conversation. The food was excellent and we did not have a long wait for it. Our waitress told us they were now fully staffed, so were able to provide better service.

We enjoyed dinner at the Taphouse, but have a few suggestions! Better vegan options and a little quieter would have made it better. Also cheaper, but that's probably asking too much!

The food and beer was excellent and the service was good. However, we parked in the lower lot to access the elevator due to mobility issues and it was not accessible. Then, as it was a hot summer day, we attempted to use the outdoor patio but the few tables with any shade were occupied and the rest were in direct sun. Our group moved inside but there was no air conditioning and the heat was verging on unbearable. Made enjoying the meal impossible and we left early. As to recommending, it would be with a warning to pick a cool day.

The Sawmill Taphouse is consistently enjoyable. I love their pizza with a glass of wine, great salads as well. It serves my whole family as we are vegan and vegetarian which is priceless. Everyone always has a great time and meal. Reservations recommended
