   Had a reservation, got told they didn’t have one… even after I confirmed the day before on OpenTable…. Brought out wrong food twice… I was celebrating my moms heavenly birthday so I was trying to make the best of it. I didn’t want to sit outside, and the bugs were bothering meeeee. That’s why I made a reservation!!!!! Anyways— I love the food but sheesh.

   Love Easter this was the best food and our service was amazing!!! Unfortunately I do not have their name but they had a really sweet studded jacket vest, super funny and joked with my husband bc he could not finish his plate haha the salmon Benedict is a must!

   My husband and I were in Austin for the weekend from the Dallas area and this place had some great reviews so we decided to check it out for brunch. We LOVED it and will most definitely be going back the next time we visit Austin. I had the Breakfast on a Biscuit with bacon and it was amazing. My husband had the Gaston Scramble with a biscuit and also loved it all. The biscuits were super light and fluffy and the potatoes were nice and crispy on the outside. The inside of the diner was such a neat place too. Next time we would love to sit outside, but just getting the opportunity to eat here was wonderful.

   We did have to get on the wait list just to be seated which we were told they didn’t know wait time because they had to seat the reservation people first. So I joined the reservation list and still waited another 30 minutes on top of the 20 we were already waiting. As soon as we were sat, it took our waitress 15 minutes to get out drink order and then another 30 minutes to get our food order. It took about 40 minutes to get our food which was perfect but everything else could have been way better. They did comp my moms Bloody Mary but that didn’t do much for $150 tab.

    Wait staff is always on point. The food is amazing and it’s my favorite brunch spot. The front could use some work. The same guy that always works the host stand can be very off putting to guests. I don’t think it’s intentional, but in my weekly visits I have heard a lot of other guests comment on how uncomfortable and unwelcoming he made them feel during the check in process. It would also be advised to have someone consistently check if those waiting in line are reservations, so they can be prioritized. I waited 30 min in line, making us 15 late for our reservation, just to check in and then continue to wait. There are lots of opportunities for improvement at the front door that would avoid some of the unsavory attitudes of people visiting for the first time.

    There was a line out the door (waiting for tables) but we walked right in with our reservation - no waiting. Food was great - tons of shrimp in the shrimp & grits. The patio was lovely, even though it was a bit chilly outside. The heaters were very warm!

    Always great food and staff, the reservation process when you arrive is horrible. 40+people crammed into one small area, no separate area for people with reservations. Basically whoever is brave enough to jump ahead gets seated. Please fix this, this is our favorite place to dine.

    Really good food - the special was amazing. We got our table pretty quick and our food didn’t take long. Don’t forget, no mimosas or bloody Mary’s until 10am on Sunday.

    First time a Sawyer and Co. I made a reservation for 3 the day before, arrived on time, and was quickly seated. Service was great and food was timely to our table. Two of us ordered the Sawyer Club Sandwich. Definitely get the Gumbo instead of or with the fries. I may go back for just the Gumbo next time. So good! Will definitely be back.

    I will not be returning due to the upsetting hospitality experience I had this weekend. I made a reservation a week ago for 11:45 on Saturday. I arrived with my full party at 11:47 and was told to wait before checking in because they were dealing with getting seating for some larger parties. After the hostess came back, a group of people entered from the patio and skipped line checking in with their reservations. My party still waited in line as we were asked. The person I front of me was helped and when it came to my turn I was told that I was 10 minutes late and my reservation was cancelled. I made the case that I had been in line well before the 10 minutes and was told it didn't matter. The tables inside and outside were full so we would have to sit at the bar. Even though it wasn't my first choice my party went to find a seat at the bar. However, as we sat down we saw two tables open up inside. We asked the waiter who seated us if we could be moved to the table that opened behind us and he said he would check. He walked to the hostess who rudely replied, " NO! They were 10 minutes late." At that time my party decided we would not eat there that day and we promptly left. I understand reservations and grace periods. My issue is with the rudeness of the hostess and the fact that we stood in line and waited as we were told to do upon entering, and were then told our reservation wouldn't be fulfilled. Long story short I will not be returning.

    We love Cajun food so were excited about going. Food was good but likely won’t rush to go back. Our service was “meh”. I don’t think she cracked one smile or the person that dropped the food off. They mentioned southern hospitality but we didn’t get much of that.

    Service was slow (45 min to get food) but it was worth the wait (at least for my dish). I couldn’t really praise chicken Fried chicken anymore. The inside of the restaurant is kind of fun because it is reminiscent of an old diner/truckstop but it could be spruced up a bit.

    Due to a last minute emergency we had, the restaurant very graciously accommodated our late seating on a Saturday night. As a result, they were out of a few items, but they generously offered substitutes and an adjustment on the bill. The service was friendly and responsive but not intrusive, and the gumbo and red beans were good and authentic. (I'm originally from Southwest LA--Cajun country.) The salads were also fresh.

    Sawyer eggs benedict. Requested egg poached medium-medium well. It was hard boiled. Potatoes were greasy. Hollandaise sauce was yummy, as were the biscuit and the cheese grits. Service was outstanding.

    Everything was lovely. Even the little details of the food were on point and the host that night was very accommodating, sitting us at the table closest to the door since my uncle has trouble getting around these days. Our server was also fantastic and very patient with us. I appreciate the both of them for that.

    We choice Sawyer & Co because they we listed among the best 20 brunch places in Austin. Additionally, it served brunch on a Friday. The menu was available all day and had a large amount of cajun food. The amount of food was just right and was delicious. I server was great, attentive, friendly, funny and very welcoming. We had great mimosas to compliment the breakfast. The atmosphere is a diner and it was cozy and fun. We wiped our plates clean and will definitely be back for more!
