Always Love your time at SC, the food is always amazing we always try a new item but now we always have our favourites, always served with a friendly welcoming attitude.
Ordered Salmon which was very good. Ordered Steak and Lobster, Lobster good but portion size was small, Steak was by far the worst I have ever had. Tasty but dry and chewy. Rest of meal very good.
The service is slow and they forget about you often.
2/3 dishes had to be returned to the kitchen due to being over cooked and dry.
They did comp our meals that were returned and apologized which was great. However this has happened each time I have dined here. I will not be returning
SC never seems to disappoint. We have tried numerous items on the menu and have enjoyed them all. The service (by Uday this time) is always exceptional. Food comes out hot and in a timely manner. We will continue to support Chef Shane and his team by making SC a regular dining choice.
Service was very good. Atmosphere good. Food not so good. Ordered the burger and tempura shrimp. You get about 10-12 shrimp. Burger comes with fries which were good. Burger was not good bun and burger were dry and not much flavour.
We where attending a concert at the River Cree and always enjoyed Sage and didn’t realize it was made over. It has been several months since we had been. The new restaurant looks great but the food was a big disappointment. We had the BBQ sampler burger and the seafood stew and all of it was a bit disappointing. The Brisket was way overdone and dry, ribs where tough and the chicken was tender and juicy but very strong smoke flavour. The seafood stew was really a soup and the burger that was supposed to be great was underwhelming. Service was ok but also expectedly to the concert rush the restaurant filled up quick. Too bad because with the limited menu items and past experience with Sage it was not what o would have expected.
Had fried chicken $16 seemed like a great price with hickory sticks and coleslaw. Chicken was 2 pieces a drumstick and thigh. The ginger coleslaw very good but you get 1 tablespoon. The hickory sticks very good but you get 2 tablespoons. The chicken came very hot and had great taste except too salty so it hid the better taste of the chicken and coating.
The food and server were great. The front person was not good at all. Rude would be a kind way to explain her.
usually have dinner at RC before a concert, this was the first time that we were totally disappointed.
server was friendly and apologized for the wait, but service was terrible. had to wait a long time before we were served and a longer time for our drinks to come. food was good but COLD,, decided not to send the food back as we so frustrated, you should know when it is a concert night and the kitchen and staff should be prepared,, very disappointed
Food was excellent. Second time here since the name change from Sage. Several different price points so there are some excellent options for literally 10$. Service has always been excellent as well. The Salomon was really nice. And the short rib decadent!! Drinks are a little pricey but probably not more than anywhere else now a days
Had SC burger and I didn’t like it. And asked for another beer and didn’t receive it.
Chef Shane Chartrand is a down to earth, friendly business owner. The food creations he comes up with are absolutely amazing; so delicious! The atmosphere is friendly, fun and the staff is extremely attentive. We had a great visit with Chef and our server, Karen, was wonderful! It is a hidden gem in Edmonton! If you like to try new things, this is a place you MUST visit.
Great food & service! Could do without all the tv’s!
I took my two daughters to last week's Jeremy Hotz comedy show. The show started at 9 pm, so I made reservations for 7:15 pm, giving us plenty of time to have dinner beforehand. When we showed up for our 7:15 reservation, we were told it would be another 10-20 minute wait. When we were finally called up, we found out we were being seated at a high-bar type setup facing the casino, not at an actual table. My daughter has a broken foot and sprained ankle and is in a cast, and when we asked if we could be seated at a regular table so she could rest her foot on the ground, we were told it would be another 15-30 minute wait. The manager did buy us a round of drinks as consolation, which we appreciated. Our waitress was very nice, but the rest of the service was absolutely slow. By the time my daughter got her meal, it was 8:40 pm, and she only had enough time to take a couple of bites. We got her meal packed up, but she was not allowed to take it through security at the comedy show, so she had to throw her meal out. We definitely expected more out of this experience, especially having made reservations beforehand.
We came here last minute for my wife’s birthday. We had been here previously for a work Christmas party and were very pleased with the service and food so we decided to go back. While the food was absolutely amazing our server is what made Our night. Uday offered what I would consider the best service I have EVER had. He went out of his way to ensure my wife had a fantastic night, treated us like royalty, super funny and very nice to have a conversation with. When we go back (which will be often) we will definitely be requesting his section.
We were there for a show and to celebrate a birthday. Food was great, could maybe have a larger serving of side dishes. The server was great but she had far too many table to manage, therefore the service was slow.
Food was great!! Thank you! Looking forward to trying more items on your menu.
Food was very tasty. Salmon was excellent. A little pricy. Would have been nice to have had a veggie or salad included with it. Came on top of potatoes. But it was soooo good I’d order again. Atmosphere was quite noisy but ok. Fried chicken was also excellent. We would eat there again.
Nice reincarnarion of Sage. Food always a surprise by SC! A bit loud at first and then nice music was played. Black walls kinda 60’s.
Serving staff totally charming. A fave place.
I had made a reservation previous to showing up at the restaurant, my first experience was not the most positive waited at counter for the hostesses to finish their conversation before getting seated, the seating was not the best in the middle of a high traffic area and they were not willing to move us. The waiter was pretty quick to serve us while we waited for the rest of our party. Once everyone arrived we ordered food and waited over an hour before we were served our food, I think the order was possibly forgotten about, the waiter avoided our table and the service after our original order was not the best. Would not recommend this restaurant.
The food was average at best. My smoked brisket was just OK, the baked beans were lousy. My wife's burger was overdone and cold. Others at the table were not impressed. Dinner for four was $180 with tip. Not good for the money. We only went because we had show tickets in the building. Last time we saw a show there we ate at the Sage and it was also poor and even more expensive.
We went to celebrate a birthday and it was great. The food was inspired and delicious, and prices were very reasonable. Service was friendly and professional. We will definitely be going back!
As usual our meal was outstanding - the scallop appetizer is VERY good and highly recommended.
We had the good fortune of being served by Uday who always makes our dining experience special!
We made a New Years Eve reservation at SC since we had tix to see a 7:00pm show. I rated the overall fair with the exception being the service. Our server (Kosty) was very good and attentive. That was the bright spot for the meal. We both ordered steaks with an appetizer of clams. The clams I sent back since they were very boring and tiny. The steaks were quite good but over priced at 40 dollars. My girlfriend had a lobster tail with her steak and she called it a "baby" tail since it was only a few bites. She was disappointed since she was so looking forward to lobster. My steak was cooked very good as rare. Hers was to be medium but was served rare. She ate most of it anyway. We are non-smokers and the smoke from the casino drifted into the restaurant and was annoying. Please get with the new age and eliminate all smoke. As an aside, what is with the name (SC Dam Good Food)"? What does SC stand for? The "Dam Good Food" in the name is pretty tacky for what is meant to be a nicer restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it.
New Year’s Eve
It is a great restaurant and the food is exceptional. Keep up the good work
The overall experience was good. The one disappointment was a very limited menu that wasn’t overly attractive,
Server was somewhat rude, food was ok, it wasn't really busy so the service level could have been a little better.
We had the beet salad, excellent and the Mahi Mahi special. It was on top of a roasted pepper sauce and was pepper crusted. First bite I wanted to choke because it was so peppery. I think a different sauce to balance the pepper crust on the Mahi Mahi would have been a better choice. Also had the Boston Cream Pie. Pretty good.
Small menu, but what they do, they do well
The food was great. My daughter experienced her meatloaf quite dry.
Went there for buck the shuck , the oysters were really good, and the service was pretty good, waiter was attentive, but it stops there. The regular food was mediocre, you could find better elsewhere. It’s in a casino so it’s kinda noisy and there’s the smell so smoke so...
This is not somewhere I would ever return, was much better when was SAGE and the menu had WAY MORE options for customers. Will not return again. Service was super but food and menu I would really change. Took sister in law there for her birthday this past Sat. An we both agree, shoulda went elsewhere like Tap 25
Great atmosphere and ambiance. Our server was wonderful. He was attentive and visited our table frequently all evening to make sure we were well taken care of. The food was another story. Although presentation was on point, the taste was quite bland and the temperature was mildly warm. It certainly did NOT live up to the name of the establishment.
We had a rib eye steak and a filet. Both were cooked perfectly to our specifications and were tender and tasty. The accompanying green beans were not over cooked and were delicious. The desert menu is small. We shared a “Boston cream pie” which was not pie but cake and was disappointing.
My girlfriend and I came to the restaurant to wait for the susie q concert. Before we came I booked reservations so we'd get a table. When we got to the restaurant we had a half hour wait before the concert. The restaurant was about 1/2 full with about 7 dirty tables. It took the hostess 10 min to get us our table - she apologized for taking so long. We ordered a long island iced tea each - where's the booze? it tasted like lime juice and too much ice. We got the bannock rolls with sauce and peanut brittle. The bannock was tastie but the au jus like sauce was thin and sparce and we counted 10 berries in our bowl - thought the sauce would have been more thick, syrupy like. The peanut brittle was good but only a couple pieces - good but portion was disappointing. Brown sugar and crushed peanuts - common Chef! Overall we were disappointed with the dessert dish and our drink. Oh and the bill came to $25.20 and my waiter only gave me back $4 - not the $4.80 I was expecting. Thanks for reading Janelle
First I would like to know why you don’t have smaller sizes of soup. The servings are very huge. I would of liked some soup but the serving was to large. You don’t have a variety of lettuce salads. The only one is the Caesar salad. I had ordered the fried chicken dish. When I started to eat the chicken leg it wasn’t cooked enough. The second piece was a very funny portion. It looked like a wing tip with a part of the rib. The tip was so bruised that it should have been caught by the chef before it went into the deep fryer. I was very disappointed. My friends flat bread came Luke warm. The bread itself could have been better. I talked to the server and then the manager came to our table to discuss our meal. I have worked in the food business for 40 Years. When I go to a restaurant like this when a chef has won several awards I expect my meal to be perfect. I think you should get a different supplier for your chicken. The waiter was outstanding. The manager took off the two meals which was very nice of him. I can’t say if we’ll ever come back again. Sorry!
