Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar - Front St
Our story is simple. Everything we can make fresh daily, we do. Including our hand-stretched mozzarella (made-to-order every day between 5pm & 11pm), our pasta, our signature 1/2 lb meatballs, our dough, bread and desserts.
Winner of the TripAdvisor 2015 Certificate of Excellence.
Excellent service. We pre-ordered our meals as we were short on time and they had everything ready for us when we arrived. Even surprised us with a free dessert for the birthday celebration.
Good value and very friendly service, I can make a reservation for any time which is good if we are going to the theatre
Have eaten at the downtown Toronto location a half dozen times over the last few years for business lunches. Pleasant ambience and always packed during peak hours.
Food has been too salty in past, but most recently was not.
Pork Chop is now on the menu, which is great as not many restaurants attempt them these days. Several of my party tried it - large variation in Chop size, though, between plates - so someone will be disappointed. The downside of the Chop was it only comes with a hash of heavily-sweetened fried Brussell Sprouts. No starch side!
Appetizer menu here also limited.
They make their own pasta, and it's fantastic al dente - but the last few times I was there, it was soggy over-cooked.
The service is way too slow. Each time I go this continues to be the issue.
Food was ok. Average but not great.
Visiting Toronto for the night and had a fabulous meal. Decor very pleasant, lights dimmed down, awesome menu. The only reason I gave ambiance 4 stars is that the tables are so close together it was hard for both the patrons and waitstaff to maneuver around. My husband chair kept getting knocked into and his coat dumped on the floor. The waitress did find a hook for the coat so at least that problem was solved!
Great spot to eat. Most times when I visit Toronto, I make a visit. Not just another Molson beer place. They great Italian beers on tap, pasta is fresh and perfect. We watched George make mozzarella balls all night. Very cool.
Excellent meatballs. Everything was fresh and made on premises.
Service was really attentive even though it was a busy Friday evening. Food was good, good size portions and sharing encouraged which was nice. I thought the wine and beer list was a little on the pricey side, eg almost $10 for a pint of draft, but they had a good variety of both to offer. Nice casual vibe and close to where we wanted to be so overall a good experience.
Food was not very good, very disappointing
Such delicious food and incredible service. The house made cheese boards are a must!
great experience.....welcoming waitress was awesome and accommodating
It’s like the didn’t even read the memo with the reservation. ..service was slow
Visited as a family group of 4 adults from UK. Excellent tasty food & good service. We enjoyed the experience so much we visited again during the same vacation. Our original server recognised us and came over to say hello.
Last minute reservation, pasta was excellent and reasonably priced wine list.
We will go back.
Delicious food and great service
It was alright, but I expected better prepared pasta and calamari. Pasta dish was average and calamari was tough and dry. I might consider a second time to see if it was an off night
We all enjoyed our meals. Try the cocktails and mozzarella
Great value for the food. The pasta dishes were really tasty. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. Just would like the service to be less "trained" and more genuine.
Great birthday dinner! Food was delicious.
Nice atmosphere, good service. Pizza was great with a nice crust. However, I would not recommend the chicken parmesan. The noodles were only lukewarm, the tomato sauce was bland and flavourless, and there was little sauce over the chicken and noodles.
Had a great time. Food was delicious and service was amazing. Great spot for a birthday dinner before a night on the town. Only annoyance was our booth was near the door and there was a strong cold breeze every time the door opened. Will definitely be back though!
I was visiting from Chicago and my boyfriend and I met friends here before going to Second City for a show. Food is consistently tasty, with large portions. My friend had the spaghetti and meatball, I had the pasta with chicken pesto and sundried tomatoes and both were delicious. The main dining area is large, open and a little too noisy so we were seated at the back near the kitchen area and it was quieter. The table was a little wobbly but we lived with it. We were served by several different servers which was unusual but at least they were very attentive to our needs. Our main server was a little stoic and cold but I suppose the stress of the holidays may have had something to do with that. Oh well, tis the season!
It was good... service could have been better.. waiter did not refill water, did not ask every now and then how everything was. Was not that friendly towards the guests. Overall, it was okay.
Fresh made mozzarella is a must try. For an Italian restaurant the pasta was very poorly cooked starchy and clumped together. Service was questionable, a table seated well after us received their apps at the same time we did and their mains well before we did even though the dishes were similar.
Not sure what happened to the restaurants under the SIR brand.
We enjoyed going to Canyon Creek on Front St before a Leaf game. Disappointed that was closed and in its place a block away was this restaurant.
The overall wait for drinks and food were unreasonably long . We get its a big restaurant and it was a game night but still, be prepared.
Our appetizer typically is the spinach and artichoke dip...what we got was a green slop not even remotely close to what they used to have. Some reconstituted prepackaged “just add water “ mix that was as un appetizing as it looked . What happened to the original?
Our mains where pretty hum drum for the restaurant brand that used to be a family fav.
Not sure we’d be back ever
Awesome food and great service!
Very noisy. Wait staff very inattentive. Food decent.
The pizza and chicken Parmesan was ok. Not bad not great. Gnocchi was best. A little loud and quite crowded. Just nothing fantastic
Table was not ready fir us even though we had made reservations. Waiter was very attentive once we were seated. Portion size rather small but tasty.
Spaghetti Sorrentina was delicious. Bruschetta with avocado and goat cheese delightful. Ambience heartwarming. Staff cheerful.
the food is nice
love the morozella
the service is not that nice, waited for a while for the pasta to be served
We like this convenient location when attending a leaf game. Overall we had a good experience, our only issue is we continue to receive inconsistent experience on the same dishes ordered. Best to get there early for a good table before they shoehorn you into a worse seating.
Everything was ok! A little expensive for what you get! Just regular Italian food!
I ordered the chicken and shrimp spaghetti, the spaghetti was unbeatable, it was very salty I left the whole thing and just ate the chicken and shrimp. I remember also eating your pizza americano and it was too salty, so I stayed away from it, now I’m staying away from your chicken and shrimp spaghetti. In fairness, other dishes I’ve eaten there in the past was good. The waitress, she was very abrupt, no friendliness, she appeared as if she was already impatient serving our food. Good thing I wasn’t paying as it was a treat for me, I wouldn’t have given her a tip. I may still go back and order the other stuff that was good but could you tell your chef not to drop the whole jar of salt into the pasta sauce.
Great food, very quiet place.
Food was good and choices in menu were just right. Service was friendly and attentive.
Everything was wonderful. It was a little loud, music could go down a little. It was very hard to talk to the person beside you.
Our server that night was the best that my wife and I have ever had. She made our night perfect. I don’t know her name but she was absolutely perfect
I recently made the choice to get seasons tickets to Mirvish theatres. 7 shows means 7 trips to scaddabush as it is my hands down favourite restaurant. But we always either visit at lunch or after the show (4:30) on Wednesday and i really just wish that the mozzarella appetizer was available then. It’s sooo good and one of the main reasons I frequent scaddabush. Any chance you’ll be adding it as an all day options ??🤞
