Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar - Front St
Our story is simple. Everything we can make fresh daily, we do. Including our hand-stretched mozzarella (made-to-order every day between 5pm & 11pm), our pasta, our signature 1/2 lb meatballs, our dough, bread and desserts.

First time and def not our last
I have enjoyed the food at another location and thought it would a great choice for our group, which included 4 seniors. While the food and wine didn't disappoint, we found the restaurant very busy and noisy. It was a little crowed and difficult to get around in. The service was quick and we made it in plenty of time for our show, so overall still a positive experience.
I dine at this location fairly often, as it’s near my office. The food is usually pretty good - I like the Shrimp Spaghetti (I substitute the spaghetti for penne); the deep fried capers add a delicious crunch to the dish.
On this day the service was not great though, waited 10 minutes for our server to show up and then only saw him again when the bill arrived. I would say this is not typical of this location though.
Food was fine, not outstanding. Server was friendly. Meals came at different times (same dish...5-10 minutes apart) forcing people to wait while meal got cold. Service was very prompt overall.
I ordered the gnocchi Gorgonzola and it was very oily. It tasted okay overall but too pricey for what you get. I paid about $23 but there wasn’t even that much food. My friend asked for a salad with goat cheese but there was barely any of it. Also, it was my friend’s birthday so we asked for the free chocolate jar dessert but even the jar didn’t have much food in it. So we weren’t impressed with that too. However my tiramisu in the jar was full.
We arrived at Scaddabush upon a recommendation from a friend. We were coming to Toronto to see a show. We ate from the sandwich, pasta and pizza portions of the menu. Everything was delicious, including the incredible pizza with gluten free crust (which did not taste gluten free but certainly was). The waiter was very helpful in giving suggestions for wine and food. We will definitely be back! Thank you for an amazing meal in a room with great ambience.
Spinach and artichoke dip very good, lots of patio space, close proximity to Rogers stadium
Great place. However, as with many restaurants we feel a little rushed.
Convenient location, close to theatre district and hotels, food is adequate, but not special. We were there for a pre theatre meal, service was efficient and we were on our way in good time. This is not a fine dining restaurant. I can only comment on one visit, pizzas being enjoyed by neighbours looked good. We opted for the crusted snapper, the fish was good, but coating not to my taste, the accompanying roasted potato was good, but the vegetables uninspired. On a side note, the table seemed a bit sticky, but it was a very hot and humid day, so that may have been the reason, no placemeat or tablecloth which probably would have been paper anyway, so better without.
I went during Happy Hour for pizza and ordered the Smoked Bacon and Egg one with double-smoked bacon, mushrooms, mozzarella, caramelized onions, chilies, and two freshly cracked eggs... Temperature was right on, piping hot coming straight from the oven, but strangely it was lacking in flavour, despite having the 2 runny eggs into which I dipped the crust. I had to ask for extra chili, fresh ground pepper and chili oil to enhance the flavour. I would give the crust 3/5, as it also lacked in flavour. I think the pizza would be better with some fresh arugula or another vegetable. The mojito I had was disappointing as it was made with bar lime rather than fresh limes...the drink tasted artificial and tired. I unfortunately came here on the same day as one of the Taylor Swift concerts, and felt rushed as the waitress wanted to turn the table ASAP.
Always enjoy going to Scaddabush and will return again
Table by the bar was very dark - even two jar lights did not help. Could be considered quite romantic but hard to read the menu! :)
Pre-game time was busy - food was quick, drinks prompt but took a long time to get the bill.
Ran out of crayons for the kids.... ran out of chocolate milk....ran out of the donut dessert... and pop is not free refills.... The main course was great, location is nice and convenient, the patio is a bit loud with traffic, but is nice. I prefer the Mississauga location for level of service, but the food is really good and that's the important part.
Everything was excellent, spaghetti was a little too well done. I prefer al dente
The food was very good but a bit rich, i.e high in oils. We sat in the outside patio on front street - that was lovely.
Great food and great suggestions by our waitress whom was not shy about recommending dishes and explaining why. Great variety of cocktails and all around service was amazing
It was my first visit to Scaddabush and I am disappointed. The chicken brodo spaghetti I ordered was extremely bland. No flavour. Not even enough salt and pepper. I paid freaking $16 bucks for that and I am not happy!!
We had made a reservation for her daughter’s 21st birthday. She had been there before with friends when visiting Toronto. We were seated on the patio at our reservation time, so all started well. Service initially was quick, but almost too quick when it came to our food arriving. First we ordered a beer, and then bread and we each ordered a pasta dish. Our food arrived at the table in under 15 minutes. However, the bread was cold, and so were both of our pasta dishes. The restaurant was packed, and I’m really unsure as to how they got our food on the table that quickly unless the food is made ahead of time. The flavor of both of our pasta dishes was very poor. Quite honestly, we eat at many Italian restaurants both fine and what we would consider a more moderate level dining. The flavor of these dishes honestly tasted as if they opened up a can of Ragu spaghetti sauce. We were not impressed.
Our server at no point during the meal asked how our food was. At one point my beer spilled on the table as the tables were uneven, and it took a good 10 minutes before the server came back to the table to realize what had happened.
In the end he comped both of our pasta dishes, but overall the experience was a disappointment.
Muy buen restaurante italiano en el centro de Toronto, muy recomendable y a precios moderados
Food was amazing, hostesses were very nice...besides that, cold bear and good wine. We had a great time celebrating a friend's Bday. Service was a bit slow and our waiter did not seem to care much... probably because he was very busy with the Blue Jays fans (place was packed). Anyway, Overall a good experience.
This is our go-to restaurant when in this part of Toronto. Homemade pasta is the best! Never had a bad meal here.
The food was excellent and the service was great. Will return when I am back in the Toronto area.
It was our first visit to the restaurant. Our server was amazing. She was helpful and very attentive. The food was awesome and came very quickly. Great experience!
Definitely will come again!
Usually this is a great choice for a spot before a concert or after work. Great food, atmosphere and service.
But this time the food was cold and slow, in spite of the fact we told the server we had just over an hour. Or table had smokers nearby and we did not enjoy the experience. One of our group came here for the first time and was so disappointed she does not want to come back.
We made a reservation for two. They stuck us in the busiest aisle with runs from the kitchen. Not great at all. I had to go back to the reception and ask for a different table.
In fairness, we just returned from a trip to Italy. Rome, Florence, Venice and Salerno. The food here can not compare. They claimed fresh pasta everyday. I would question that. The freshly made mozzarella was bland. I wouldn’t likely go back.
Food came out fast and correctly. Staff was amazing and friendly.
Overall wonderful experience
Went on a date with my wife....had pizzas and a bottle of wine! Fast friendly....though the pizza was not as “hot” as I’d have liked. A bit loud, but great service!
Sean the waiter is the best. ：p
I like the salad and very delicious
Thoroughly enjoyed restaurant, atmosphere and food. The mozzeralla was delicious!!
The food was very good, however the portion sizes seemed to be debatable...my wife had a “small” portion of her pasta meal while I had “regular” portion yet her meal was larger than mine. Having said that, the food was very flavourable...service was excellent and the location on the outside patio was beautiful! Highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning.
Food was good, but the staff was inattentive. Had reservations and checked in with Hostess and were left waiting while others were being seated. We were given a less that desirable table that we had to get switched.
We had dinner before a concert. Timing was great. Food was delicious
Date with my husband. Went for a late lunch. Wasn't busy but service from our waitress was quite slow.
My mom and I had a great meal before a concert on a Sunday. The food was delicious - we had the naked mozarella to start and our mains were the chicken Parmesan and shrimp spaghetti. We were sharing, so they kindly split the mains for us and both were very tasty. Service was great!
I love the food it was great and the place is very cozy the only thing I didn’t like is the area were we seat is hot it feels like there’s no a/c. Hope next time they have better a/c especially on summer time.
Great food, Great service. Mozzarella with balsamic and hazelnuts was delicious as was Gorgonzola Gnocchi.
Travelled from Barrie for the 4th time this month to see a show and have lunch at Scaddabush. I don’t even think about going anywhere else anymore . Their food is amazing ( the mozzarella is incredible ), decor is great, staff are friendly and knowledgeable (shout out to Louis, best server yet!!) . Clean and well lit, reasonable volume level even near the bar, great value for $ spent. Highly recommend this to anyone who’ll listen .
Great food, a little pricey but still delicious.
Great spot that was able to easily accommodate our party of 8 plus one toddler. Everyone enjoyed their food and service was great.
