Open table you must be kidding me??? This reservation never happened. The winery was not even open at the time you advised I could book this table. I don't think the winery even uses your services.
Overall quite disappointed with our experience at Scheuermann. We ordered a bottle of red wine with our food, which was not their own since they had run out, but that was ok, we ordered another at $65. When the server put it on the table, she just set the unopened bottle on the table and when we looked at her surprisingly she said :"Oh did you want me to pour it?" She poured 2 glasses immediately without letting us sample it. Once we took our first sip, it tasted like water with a hint of wine and the colour was lighter than a Pinot. All that to say that once she returned we told her that we did not like the wine and if there was anything they could do about it. She wasn't sure, went to the owner who 10 minutes later came to us with another open (less than half) bottle and said that normally they would not do this, but she could exchange ours for the one in hand. Not only had we not drunk our first 2 glasses of the wine which we evident on the table, they give us a half full of something else without asking if we wanted to sample that one either. Anyway, all to say that for a winery you would think they would have serving etiquette and showcase the wines when they serve them since this is the business they are in. When my husband paid, it took several tries as the server had messed up the bill and the owner just stood by and watched while she struggled. All the while, you could see the frustration and impatience in our faces over the whole experience. The owner just looked at us and dismissed the whole thing without offering any apology or excuse. Really poor customer service and sadly will not be returning nor referring this place to any of our friends or acquaintances.
We enjoy coming and spending time here, the atmosphere, the food and staff are amazing. If You need to escape and destress and worry about nothing this is the place.
The pizzas are all kind of a specialty nature. For the cost of the meal a person should be able to get what they want. ie peperonni, mushroom and ham. Because of this i did not enjoy my meal but again this is because of what i like and not being able to get it. The rest of the evening was enjoyable. Thanks.
Best Pizza we have every had. Atmosphere was incredible and the wine was delicious
Always a pleasure to enjoy some great wood fired pizza and a glass of wine in such a nice location.
When my husband’s red wine was presented, it looked a bit cloudy, and upon tasting, it was clear that something was “off”. I tasted it as well, and came to the same conclusion. My husband went to the counter and told the server that the wine had maybe “gone bad” and our server said to another server: “What am I supposed to do with this?”
So my husband ordered a white wine instead. When it came time to pay, the owner or perhaps a senior server, was called over by our server and told my husband he would have to pay for the red wine that he ordered, even though he did not consume it.
Do not attach too much faith to the expression “the customer is always right” as it would have been so simple for them to say: “We’re terribly sorry that you didn’t care for this particular wine, sir, but there is no problem here; there will certainly be NO charge”. Thank you for visiting Scheuermann Vineyard and Winery. Just saying.
The pizza was excellent.
Friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere, delicious food and both the Vidal wines were excellent. Definitely my new favourite winery
The vineyard is the perfect setting for a beautiful dinner and delicious meal with family and friends! The service was excellent and the pizza and salad were so good!
Best pizza and beautiful scenery! Very friendly staff. We will be back!
The pizza is phenomenal, when they have the grill option it’s amazing too. The service is friendly and welcoming, such great people work here! It’s our absolute favourite place.
The only food available on the menu that night was their various stone roasted pizzas which are very good.
A lovely setting - casual. The service was very good. A nice friendly atmosphere.
Great wine, great pizza, great service, great view! Highly recommended taking a trip to the winery!
Very beautiful winery. Staff very friendly. Wood burning pizza was good.
Always delicious, tasty pizza made with locally sourced ingredients. Friendly, helpful and informative service describing the wood fired ovens and the cooking process. Lovely ambiance overlooking Wolfe lake and the winery. Beautiful sunsets!
We made a reservation for the first time visiting the winery and it was indicated that it was a special occasion.
When we arrived there was 1 group of 3 ppl ahead of us to be seated. This group did not have a reservation. The host said to wait a few minutes and for him to see what he can arrange. Then after getting that group sorted he then spoke to us. In my opinion, the host should have stated to walk in, that he would help us first instead of keeping us waiting while he attempted to locate a table for the walk in group. We did have a reservation however the host when he returned, could not find it.
The host did say he could show us 2 options for seating.
We were happy with the seating we decided.
The walk in table was near our table. They got service, food, drinks prior to our table even having a server approach us. Finally after waiting again for a server to come over, we then found out that they were out of their red wines selection of their winery however offering other wines from another winery. This was disappointing The server seemed annoyed that we were deciding on what to do, however we decide on white wine as we went specifically there to try their wines. There was no mention of our special occasion and the service was not very friendly.
I realize the winery could have been short staffed or busy etc however the level of service expect was not there.
Great atmosphere and service! They were quite busy when we went but Cole made sure we were looked after. Delicious wood fired pizzas paired with good wine, highly recommend.
After waiting several minutes to be seated, we were greeted by the hostess, not wearing a mask. We were seated at a good table for our needs (one person mobility challenged) thankfully at a distance from other tables. After waiting more than 1/2 hour we were able to catch the eye of a waitress to finally take our drink order, so we gave our food order too. We were quite uncomfortable every time one of the wait staff came to our table because they were not wearing a mask. Once we’d ordered, the food was good - the salad was delicious and the gourmet pizza very good. Even at the cash, there was no barrier or mask. One staff member even talked about them being anti vaccination! It’s such a lovely setting and so nice to eat outside that it’s a shame to not feel safe. We most likely will not be back.
Enjoyed a beautiful evening outdoors watching the water and eating our delicious fire oven baked pizza. Many wines are sold out, but they have provided some substitutes for reds. Reservations a must, but the outside seating is spaced out so there is privacy and little noise.
Very good food, service and ambiance. A fine evening!
The atmosphere, the food, the wine, all EXCELLENT.
There were tables vacant and we had a reservation yet it took 10 minutes for a greeter to seat us she was nowhere in sight then stopped to chat for 5 min with other guests leaving . The table service was quick and efficient and pleasant the food is very good.
Awesome pizza and steaks. We had great weather, and enjoyed the views .
Unfortunately we were nnevr severed after 25 min wait .... So No dinner! No server, no tableware, poor ambiance! Looked like too many tables set out filled beyond capacity! Would not reccomend at this time.
Amazing pizza and beautiful location. Well worth the visit.
The food was good but in my opinion, slightly over priced. We were there on Labor Day weekend so the place was packed but they were well staffed so the wait was not long.
We had a bottle of Chardonnay and it tasted more like a sparking wine . We complained and they gave us another bottle, to me that is a sign of a good management.
Longer term, I hope they change their business model from exclusively outdoor dining to a more traditional indoor bistro.
I hope this little start up business does well in the future as it is a gutsy move to start a restaurant business in the midst of a pandemic.
Very nice atmosphere with a stunning view. Food is very good, we had the lobster tails that were tasty. The wine vidal my favourite. Light and refreshing. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The only problem is with entering the winery at the line up with or without reservations which I have found that staff isn't paying attention to that area. Need more focus on the customers at entrance.
Amazing spot for outdoor dining, wood oven pizza and nice wine
Whenever we are in the Westport area, we try to dine at the Winery. The outdoor seating is pleasant and with plenty of “social distancing” space between tables.
The pizzas are tasty and satisfying.
The change in policy for bringing our dog was mildly disappointing, as it resulted in 2 of our group having to miss the meal to stay home with the pup. Hopefully, the winery can find a way to reinstate the dog-friendly policy.
(Perhaps to fence in a zone for people who wish to have their dog with them)
Booked a reservation to celebrate our anniversary. The service was impeccable even though the server was new. We both ordered oysters and then had the steak for mains. Both were absolutely delish! Steaks were cooked perfectly and was such a large portion we both had to take the leftovers home. Great overall experience and ambiance.
AMAZING food, wine, atmosphere and service. Highly recommend!!
Though we were there during a summer cold snap we had a lot of fun. (It’s outdoors only) The setting is beautiful, watching the sunset while enjoying our food and drinks. Staff were very friendly.
Great outdoor dining experience in the vineyard overlooking the lake. Casual and great staff.
Excellent food and service
Excellent food & wine. Can’t beat the service & location. Quality ingredients and the food is always consistent. Family run business that pays attention to details. You won’t be disappointed. What a treat to have this wonderful winery nearby.
Waited 30mins until I had to flag down a server (must have been a miscommunication between the staff). Normally I wouldn’t mind as much if the atmosphere was good but we were outside (COVID Times) and it was raining a bit, since they didn’t have enough umbrellas we were stuck waiting in the rain.
The pizza was not very good, bland, too much flour, poorly cooked etc… the value was meh.
The wine was the only redeeming quality as it was tasty and smooth
I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you’re close by.
Excellent food and atmosphere! Really nice view. Tables distanced apart to give lots of space.
Thank you for the nice review Jennifer. We are so happy you enjoyed your time with us. See you again.
Great service ,pizza is delicious and the family is very friendly and eager to help.
