Scotland Run Golf Club's Highlander Pub & Grill
The Sunday brunch is wonderful. A variety of delicious choices makes it difficult to stick to a diet...so don't. Make sure to save room for the desserts that are offered...mini cheesecakes, carrot cake, brownies etc. Oh, and, of course you have to have a Danish or 2. Highland Pub has the best coffee to go with all of this, or a mimosa or Guinness for St. Patrick's Day.
Place was crowded, but I expected something a little more high end because it was a Golf Course. I realize it is only $20.00 pp but not even a nice selection of food. The Omelette and waffle were good, but the selection was poor, not even the dessert table was appealing. I passed and I love dessert. Chicken and Onion soup was terrible and the pork selection would not try. No salad or any vegetable options.
One and done, Would not try again.
First time there for brunch. Everything as expected. Food was great especially the cheese blintzes!! Would definitely go again. Price was reasonable
Excellent food, and excellent service, it was a great meal!
food was cold we had reservations for 11 am First time for brunch Never again it was my husbands 68th birthday we received bill for 5 we were party of 4 waitress was ill sneezed on table did not cover mouth we complained of food was given 15 % back but this was before I realized we were charged for 5 people Manager should have addressed us and made this right No we will not be returning No we will not be giving good review
you ruined our birthday with family I have worked in Washington Twp Schools for 25 years everyone told me how nice it would be It wasn't
The food was really creative and delicious. We were a large group so that might have been part of the problem but food was really slow. Ambiance was nice but I gave a low rating because it was cold.
Reservations for 5:00 and were able to seat us at 4:50. Waiter attentive. I had chicken Marsala and it was a little tough. Someone else had crab cake and said it was excellent and the men had Sheppard’s pie and said that was very good. Most had the sweet potato soup and all thought it was delicious. Very nicely decorated. Would definitely return!
Sunday brunch was well laid out with various delectable choices. The omelette and waffle stations were well stocked and delicious. Other choices included eggs, sausage, bacon, French toast, fruit, pastries, desserts, chicken and seafood entrees. Wait staff was friendly and prompt.
Will definitely return!
The Sunday Brunch at Scotland Run is one of the best in the area. Always a nice variety. Love the omelet station and the made to order waffles. Can't beat it! We'll be back again soon.
Scotland Run Golf Club's Highlander Pub & Grill will never disappoint a dining quest. The food and service is always spot on.
Everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is perfect
Everything was great except even though we sat in the dining area, the entertainer in the bar was overwhelmingly loud making it difficult for conversation.
Elliot our waiter and the 2 young men that assisted him were wonderful. Look forward to doing this again next holiday season for 3rd year in a row
Tastefully decorated. Food yummy. Needed more waitstaff due to holiday groups. Staff very accomodating.
Have been long-time fans of the Highlander Pub at Scotland Run! So beautifully decorated around the holidays, and a table by the fireplace is wonderful! Great food, great service!
The food and service was great!!
Good place to eat and enjoy atmosphere. Happy hour prices and food are excellent.
Food was fantastic!
Went for lunch and everyone’s sandwiches were delicious. Prompt service, friendly waiter watched golfers as we ate. Great pub lunch!!
We celebrated a friend’s 50th birthday. The restaurant staff were very helpful in all aspects. The hostess helped with the surprise. We were able to come early and set up the decorations. We were able to bring a cake. The server brought it out at the right time with candle lit. Wonderful party and great restaurant staff!
Lighitng coud be toned down a bit. I know it is a pub, but it is too bright.
The breakfast offerings were not even Diner quality, just barely ok. Our waitress was not very attentive and had to be asked for everything and she didn’t have many tables, she didn’t even have to remove empty serving dishes. The meat station had two selections turkey and roast beef. The roast beef was very tough and there were no veggies the go with either. I would not waste my money returning for the brunch!!
Reservation @ 6:30, sat promptly, ordered two mixed drinks, one soft drink, two chicken pasta dishes and flounder and fries. 30 mins later, no food, waiter had to be flagged down to ask how much longer for food. He gave no ETA. Couple that came in after us was served their food!! We paid for our drinks, soup and salad and left as we did not want to wait any longer!! Sad that service clearly was not provided!! Won't bother to revisit as they were not busy and did not serve a family in a timely manner! Disappointed!!
The cook was really off time that night. Placed order at 635 did not receive food till 720. It was a shrimp and crab salad and tuna dinner.
I met family members here for dinner. The service was exceptional..thank you Jason. The food arrived hot, and was very good.
Vincent was our waiter. He did a great job. Did his job without being obtrusive, or never around.
I felt rushed because the hostess told me we had to leave by a certain time because the manager booked another large party and needed our table. Plus they got rid of the private room they had for large parties so there was 24 people behind us having a large birthday party , Not sure if we will be back
Nice lunch 👍
I always love this buffet and all it offers. You don’t go away hungry. Staff is pleasant. It has a cozy feeling with beautiful views of the golf course. And the food is well prepared, delicious and plentiful!
My mashed potatoes were cold.
We had to ask someone to go find our waiter to pay the bill. At that point there was only 1 other table of people.
I did not complain about the potatoes since it took a while for our food to come out even tho it wasn’t busy.
Can’t say enough good things about Scotland Run.
Birthday dinner for my wife. Food was fantastic, as usual. Definitely interested in coming back for Brunch soon as well.
Thanks for the feedback, Alex. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your dinner with us for your wife's birthday, and we look forward to seeing you at brunch soon!
We went out to dinner at Scotland Run on 9/14/19 and sat outside on the back patio and was immediately blown away by the ambiance and view of the golf course at sunset. However, our experience quickly turned downhill when it came to the service. As we were waiting the 18 minutes for our first round of drinks, we actually contemplated walking out and eating elsewhere. Our waiter, Frank, looked lost most of the night, was not attentive, and did not listen to our food order as multiple things were not as we ordered them. As an ex-server I am sympathetic to servers in the middle of a rush, but am not as forgiving to those who seem to wander aimlessly through the restaurant on a slow night. The food was decent, but generic and forgettable and not up to the standards I had expected from a higher end country club. Overall the experience was lacking and we will not be returning.
Music was great a lovely evening by the golf course!
The food was fair and the service was good. I was taken back when the server gave me the bill and the gratuity of 20% was already added in. I would not rush back there
We were celebrating special birthday and it worked out perfectly.
The offerings for brunch were fantastic and enjoyed by all. A great variety. We especially liked the omelet and waffle stations.
Will be back real soon!!!
Thank you so much for the great feedback! We are so glad to hear you enjoyed our brunch, and we look forward to having you back again soon.
The outside patio is perfect during nice weather; it is partially covered to block the sun and boasts a lovely view of the golf course. This, in contrast, to the heavy wood decor inside, with the visible bar and tv playing sports. It's easy to overspend on entrees, but a bargain can be had with a sandwich or burger. The food is, sadly, just mediocre. On a recent visit, the service was so poor that we gave up on waiting for the waiter to take our dessert order and left for Cold Stone to get ice cream, even though it was over 10 minutes away.
Good food and prices at happy hour, although our party of six ordered from both menus. 4 Stars because the Fr. onion soup tasted a little burnt. Great place to dine.
Great weather made for a great patio meal and drinks.
It was a beautiful night out &!we wanted to dine on the patio..they had someone singing on the patio thay night also. Overall it was a good time. Our server was very sweet but very slow & not so attentive, but other than that it was a nice night.
We appreciate the great feedback. We apologize that the service was slow, and we will be sure to share your comments with management & staff for review. We are glad to hear your enjoyed your meal on the patio, and we do have live music currently every Friday & Saturday night. We hope you'll visit again soon!
