SeaSalt is a magnificent restaurant and bar, located in the heart of the Old Port of Montreal in a historic building steeped in history. Renovated in 2019, its new team and its new executive chef Yacir Nakhaly have asserted the identity of this unique place.
We offer seafood cuisine but not only, merging Mediterranean and South American inspirations, using local and fresh products as Lobster, octopus, shrimps, crab, scallops and many differents fish, a constantly changing and seasonal menu. Seafood was extraordinary. Just as we expected. I like the ambience of the restaurant the noise level got a little bit intense as people started to drink and eat at the bar. Probably should’ve eaten outside on the patio. Other than that this place is a keeper.

One of our party was served burned cod with mayo when she requested no Tatar sauce. The outer batter was inedible. Sent back and same plate was returned with majority of sauce scraped off. Sea bass portion was smallest we have seen. Lobster roll was average. Oysters were good. Would not return.

Service and ambience great. But the food was not good. Lobster overcooked. The sea bass was 1/4 inch thick. Never saw sea bass like that. And whatever came with it was not good. Would not recommend. Maybe for a cheap sandwich since sitting on the terrace was nice

The burgers and the octopus were very good. However, for 48$ I expected more than just a grilled octopus and sauce. There were no sides.. As for the service, nobody came to refill our glasses of water and the server took my drink away even though it was still half full.

Beyond overpriced….we were offered a seafood platter that wasn’t on the menu and wasn’t told the price. There flies around our table the whole time and wasps which made it so unpleasant. When we were served our food it wasn’t anything like we thought. It was several seafood items swimming in sauces and some of it was fried and breaded; definitely not worth the $275.00 that we were charged. Not worth the $675 that we were charged. Just outrageous!!!! I also tripped and hurt myself of which nobody seemed to care except that they said it’s not the first time it happened and they’ve been meaning to resolve the issue but haven’t done so as of yet…there is no indication that there is a step in between two dining rooms. Terrible overall experience.

I was here a few years ago. It was a better dining experience and was looking forward too having my grilled octopus dish. Was I ever disappointed. Maybe they changed chefs but the quality of food was substandard and expensive. Unfortunately I will not return again. The waiter was rude and snobby. Go dine somewhere else.

We felt this was a mid-level dining experience. The service was good; however, the food was fine but not excellent. My sea bass was dry and the vegetables were cold when served. My spouse had the grilled octopus. He thought it was “decent” but has had better. The bill was quite pricey. The location was great. There are so many fabulous restaurants in Montréal and we felt this i one did not live up to the food scene in Montreal. For the money, there are at least 5 other restaurants I would go to first.

Dass Essen war super lecker und der Service war toll. Wir hatten einen schönen Abend wo wirklich alles von vorne bis hinten gepasst hat. Wir hatten außerdem einen Vegetarier dabei, für den die Küche dann einen extra Hauptgang gekocht hat. Alles top

Was excited to try this spot! Bit of a disappointment. Our server did not check on us after starter, was never offered new drinks… had to chase him down just to order our mains after being there close to an hour. Food was fine… octopus was very tough but edible, not worth the money. Won’t return!

Très bonnes entrées mais plats principaux décevants: guedillas de homard sans aucune saveur, plat de poulpe sans saveur et portion congrue, frites hyper salées et non croustillantes. Bref, une immense déception après d'excellentes entrées. Ambiance bar plus que resto avec une musique très forte.

We made a last minute reservation here, and it was an excellent choice. We recommend the raw oysters. They were opened at the outdoor seafood display, and they were so fresh. The sauce was unique and wonderful. Also, the salad was freshly made, and enough to share. Shrimp tacos were another excellent dish.

We always go for the rib steak. Last year it was 60$ or so, than 70$+ and now 84$ and it comes with a poor amount of veggies. Not even sure it was 24oz, cause normaly we have enought for two... We than tought, it's more a touristic place than a local restaurante. 28$ for a burrata is realy high price. Al the entrance are more expensive, like too much really... Still good service and good food.

LOVE this patio in the summer! Great place for an Aperol Spritz or beer in the afternoon. Lobster rolls were tasty. Salmon tartare was delicious. Service was excellent: very friendly and accommodating as our group on the patio kept growing with friends arriving throughout.

The night was great our waiter was on point even if it was busy. The burrata was amazing ! My only issue was with the sofa chairs ; most uncomfortable way to sit to eat dinner. Its way too low for the height of the tables… and the cocktails are not that great for the prices.

We had a reservation for 5:30 and were seated promptly, at 6:00 pm the wait-staff told us the kitchen was swamped and she wouldn't be able to take our order until 6:30. The food arrived at 7:15 :( The waitstaff did not offer any recognition of the incredibly long delay until after we paid our bill. The food was good, but not good enough to off-set for the service.

Very nice dining room with option for patio dining. Open and airy. The staff was very nice. Very helpful in selecting gluten free option. The swordfish tartare and the grilled octopus were well prepared and very good. Nice wine selection.

Lovely spot on a corner near the river. Decor inside was pleasant. Music was updated versions of recognizable tunes. Waitstaff attentive and pleasant. Food was excellent!! Clean, imaginative flavors. We had oysters, salads, sea bass. The grilled asparagus salad had such a fresh and vibrant flavor.

From the service to the drinks and meal, all was just perfect. We took the seafood plate. One of my friend never had lobster before but.... unfortunately the lobster was way to cook and dry, with no taste :(. All the rest was exquisite. We were sitting at the table right next to the door ( right side of the entrance ) . My friends were on the side of the entrance and I was on the other side of the table. I had the sound of the music directly on me and we had to repeat a lot of or subjects of discussion du to the sound that when up during our meal ... redirecting the sound above the clients sitting would be the best choice ;) But over all everything was just great, one of us is coeliac, and they made calamaris fried in parmesan cheese, it was delicious. They have amazing gluten free meal options as well !!!

My wife's order arrived a full 10 minutes before mine. Server kept making excuses. Food also way underseasoned. Server also made excuses . $90 for a mediocre lunch with poor service. Very disappointing.

Over the long weekend we spent in Montreal, Seasalt was the best place we ate. Great food. Great service. Excellent. If we hadn't found the place on our last day, we would have come back.
