We went out as a family. We wanted to “hang in the neighborhood” with an easygoing fresh dinner. Nothing fancy. Despite many open tables they sat us at a table in the center, practically touching the host stand. It felt like a floating island in front of the door- no big deal, but odd. It was a odd, Particularly in light of the fact that the table was too small for 4. It became laughable when the servers kept bringing food that had no space. Funnily the servers just wanted to put the food down. but there was no place! They… then took it back to the kitchen and suggested they would hold it there till space became available- as if one person could eat first before another?! The worst detail was the fact that despite being in front of the the door, the kitchen AND the host stand. We had to flag someone down just to get water or a soda refill. We expect some of the summer tourist value deflation… but sarafina doesn’t warrant the price or the time it takes to eat the food… sad for such a great location scoozi- its predecessor was one of our ‘homes away from home’ unfortunately, after 3 attempts we will never return.

I’ve been to this location countless times and it’s always delicious. But I tried something new and ordered the cacio e Pepe and it was completely inedible. Way too much pepper and there was a soup of the sauce at the bottom. So dissapointed. I also ordered the margarita pizza and it was fantastic. Still recommend going just do not order the cacio e Pepe. Brought it up to my friends afterwards and they said they had the same experience

It's one of our "go-to's" when we are in Boston and are craving really fantastic Italian food! The eggplant parmesan and spaghetti squash are must try's. We like sitting at the bar, Victor our bartender and server was excellent!

Food was great but service was terrible. Our server never checked in on us after taking our order (which we had to pointedly stack our menus to signal we were ready-and that included our drink order). My husband wanted another beer but gave up after the server didn’t come back to our table until we were done with our meal. Our server went to the two tables behind us multiple times checking in with them and even spent 5 minutes chatting and laughing with one of the tables so not sure why we were singled out for bad service. The manager even went to every table except ours asking how the evening was going. The food was good but for the service there are many more Italian restaurants in back bay with good food and better service.

On arrival we were greeted by a front of house staff member dressed in a bra and tracksuit pants. First impressions should usually give fair warning. We ordered a salad and two mains of pasta. The salad that was delivered to our table was so old and drowning in balsamic dressing it probably would have made us ill if we ate it. We decided not to wait around for the mains and left. Nothing whatsoever was positive about this experience. I would not recommend Thai restaurant to anybody, friend or foe.

We would have loved to resolve the situation but both of you ran out before you told your server or anyone else. We understand if a dish comes out not to someone's liking and we take pride on remedying the issue efficiently and happily if and when it does happen. I can attest that we get food deliveries daily, including our greens for our salad.

This is a casualItalian restaurant. The service was attentive and the food arrived quickly. My son had the chicken alfredo it was outstanding. The pizza I ordered was OK ( mushrooms, prosciutto, artichokes) but the crust was good. I would recommend and would go again to try different items.

Prompt seating and food and drink delivery. Food was excellent. 4 stars for ambience as the indoor seating is basically in a basement (as are most restaurants on Newbury street). It’s nice to sit outside on street level in the Summer.

Nice & attentive staff, wonderful food! We really enjoyed the mussels (great broth) and the burrata appetizers We also all did pasta for our main course and all of it was perfect: nice light gnocchi, really good chicken parmigiana, and a unique and just delicious limoncello shrimp farfalle!

My friend and I made reservations to Serafina because it was a short walk to the MGM Fenway where we were going to a concert and the reviews were good. We were very pleased with the service our waitperson Alejandro provided. The pizza we shared was delicious and the ravioli with the truffle cream sauce was fabulous!!! Oh and I almost forgot ...the Gin-ger cocktail tasted like a lemon ginger scone...absolutely yummy!!
