Food was excellent but service let them down. Had to remind them twice to bring food that had been ordered but not brought to the table. We weren't asked if everything was ok which is unusual in a restaurant of this quality. No parmesan offered on spaghetti? No milk bought with English tea......again had to attract attention to get some. Maybe because we were only drinking tap water ( dry January !) we weren't spending as much as the next person!! Maybe we were just unlucky!
Summary: food excellent.
Service: not so good
Un po’ di Italia a Londra!
After booking reservations well in advance, the restaurant wasn’t able to find it. They had told us that open table made a mistake and overbooked after a certain hour that day. I showed the email with the resys to confirm I made it during the appropriate time. After stumbling on their words and telling us they couldn’t accommodate us, they sat us. With a dairy allergy, I asked if anything in our order contained dairy or if they can put it on the side the waitress said she would be able to. However once she placed our calamari on the table, it was covered in Parmesan and a cream sauce. When we asked to take it back and replaced with a meat dish, she completely ignored us until our 3rd request. Not only did they not serve us the meat dish, she brought back the calamari. The calamari didn’t smell good at all, in fact it stunk. Now 30 minutes in, we still were not served with utensils, the wine we ordered or bread in which every other table had upon seating. Additionally we order Bolognese, which was delicious, however my friend who wanted Parmesan and asked for it 5 times! After 20 minutes we had to walk up to the server to remind her that we were still waiting for it. After our meal, we asked for the check 3 times!!!!! 25 minutes later, we decided to find her in he restaurant so we can get our check. Awful service, completely understaffed on nye! On utter disappointment with the experience! Knowing they were completely booked they should’ve staffed the restaurant to a compadre their guest. I would not recommend especially when there are so many options for great Italian food at more reasonable prices
It was my first visit and I took a friend for lunch. The service and food were excellent and I would go again.
Great food done the right way. Homemade pasta and sauces. VERY authentic.
exceptional cooking in splendid ambient surroundings with impeccable service.
A real Joy for what was a celebratory occasion.
Great food and service
The service was very good. The wait staff was attentive and made sure we had anything we needed quickly. However, the food is the main attraction here. The homemade, hand cut noodles were outstanding.
Diet coke got plonked on the table, didnt even open it for me never mind pour it!! Pasta was cold, no parmesan offered, had to ask for it, chocolate souffle was a small hard sponge, tiramasu tasted ok but the cream cheese was yellow! Very small portions, no wonder it was empty!
Delicious italian fresh pasta with gluten-free options. I guess we chose the wrong night though as the service was super slow. However our waiter was very nice and polite and apologized about the long wait.
I’ve visited this restaurant previously and had a good experience, however I was there on Saturday night and it was awful. The food was at best average, the service was appalling- we had four different waiters as no one wanted to take ownership of our table, which led to miscommunication. We had to ask for our bill three times, and in the end we gave up and went and stood next to a waiter so we could pay. I think this restaurant is probably okay on a weeknight when they are not so busy, but you should avoid it at the weekend.
Closest thing to my my time in Rome!
Tortellini was way undercooked (crunched) and had next to no flavor.
Food was not anywhere near as good as i had expected. Service was not great, restaurant staff were not able to properly explain ingredients to our party which included people with allergies, intolerances etc. Something quite basic for a restaurant. They were not able to leave out ingredients which is quite strange for ‘freshly made pasta‘ meals. Misleading menu where ‘mixed vegetables’ is actually a plate of spinach (JUST spinach) very strange experience, probably the worst i have had in a long time. Was quite a nice restaurant though in terms of ambience and location is good too.
Panacea for coeliacs. You can have everything in the menu. Everything. And it's ALL good (I speak from personal experience lol)
The only let down are the desserts, they aren't bad but they aren't to my taste. It's ok because I never leave room anyway
Fantastic meal and really friendly staff who recommended some really tasty dishes.
Very delicious pasta
Authentic Bolognese restaurant that caters to coeliacs. Can't fault it!
A rather disappointing experience, given the generally positive reviews we had read. The food and service was average, at best.
The meal was great and service through seemed very attentive, but had to wait quite a while to pay our bill and ended up going to the desk instead.
We found this place on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try on our second night in London. To start we ordered the charcuterie board which seemed like they got the meats at a gas station and was underwhelmed with the quality. Next, I ordered the squash ravioli which was tasteless and after a few bites (hoping it would get better) it couldn't be eaten. The pasta was cooked great but there was absolutely no flavor. My finance had the pasta carbonara which was also tasteless (didn't even have any salt or pepper on it) and was under al dente and was hard to eat. With all the other Italian restaurants in the area - pick somewhere else!!
Amazing fresh gluten free pasta and bread. Upon arrival we were allocated a lovely corner table with really comfortable seating. We went with the recommendation of Sandra the manager and enjoyed burrata and charcuterie starter which was delicious. The gluten free fried bread which accompanied it was excellent. For mains we all had pasta, butternut squash, mushroom and the gorgonzola one and we were all very pleased with our choices. Great place, good price and we'll definitely visit again.
Service and food were outstanding. Lasagna is mouth-watering! Such succulent tender home-made pasta!
Excellent Food - full of flavour - wonderful wines - and lovely atmosphere. Fantastic gluten free selections. Will definitely go again soon!
Wonderful food in a friendly place. Delicious home made pasta and a good wine selection. The burrata and tiramisu were also excellent.
Sehr authentisches, italienisches Essen (Region Emiglia Romana / Bologna). Selbstgemachte Pasta. Tolles Ambiente. Gut gelauntes Personal. Italienische Musik im Hintergrund. Meine Frau und ich waren während unseres London-Urlaubs gleich zweimal dort.
Excellent food and very comfortable ambiance. Very friendly staff.
Food was outstanding, fresh pastas and homemade breads. However the service was completely terrible. Left at the door for 10 minutes before someone stopped to even greet, forgot out reservation, after 20 minutes we were sat at a dirty, unlaid table. After another 10 we were given food menu but no wine list, asked for water and were bought a jug but no glasses to drink it from. Another 10 minutes and we asked for glasses and to order, the glasses were roasting hot so needed to ask for ice. Bread and oils came but no plates. Mains came with no sides, had to chase. When desert came, forgot to bring coffees we ordered. Very dissapointed.
I took my husband there for a date lol we both loved the food and the staff are amazing!!!!
It was a great dinner! The crew at the restaurant really know what they’re doing.
One thing to note - it’s indoors but essentially open air. If it’s hot outside, it’ll be hot inside.
Very warm people works here.
Amazing Gluten Free choice.
Full gluten free menu with fresh home made gluten free pasta and desserts. The 'Dessert poker' was great - all the desserts on one plate. Pistachio semifreddo highly recommended
The restaurant was difficult to find. Old name was still being used on sign. Food was authentic and wonderful !! Try the octopus appetizer ...prepared with great care and cooked perfectly. I enjoyed a wonderful bottle of red from the Bolgheri region with a hearty pasta dish. Don’t forget to try the fried bread . The chef came over to the table and was very appreciative and gregarious. I shared a glass of my wine with him. Short walk from Trinity Square .
The setting is 'high street' in the nicest sense, with hard floors that can make the place noisy. Staff were very friendly and service was good. When the food arrived it initially didn't look great, but it tasted lovely. It's at the upper end of value for money, by which I mean it was probably the most I would be prepared to pay for a meal like this, but I would go back for a decent everyday meal.
The food was great, service even better, the staff couldn't do enough for us. Will definitely be back! Although was offered a after dinner drink called 'Montenegro' I think, and I can still taste it now!!
What a find. Our last night in London and we just stumbled across this place. Amazing food. Homey atmosphere with family style service. It was like we were in an italian family’s home. They said they’re opening a spot in Miami and I sure hope so!
Scent of Italy in London. Home Made pasta is like in Bologna and service is warm and professional. Great!
Absolutely amazing offer of gf fresh pasta I haven’t seen this anywhere else! Thanks for the great food
We went for an early dinner - which suited us, but meant that the lasagne wasn't available yet, which was a shame.
However, all the food we did have was absolutely delicious - the charcuterie really fresh, bread tasty and my ragu Bolognese very flavoursome. They also scored highly for my coeliac son, with plenty of GF choice and separate food production area. Tiramisu and chocolate souffle also good. Portions weren't enormous, and the bill added up, so not a cheap night out, but really good food.
The description om TripAdvisor was far to good according to our experience. Food ok, but not exceptionel, pasta was homemade and tastet good. Wine was warm and dit not live up to my wishes told to the waiter, who just took the wine he would like to serve...
