All of the food was amazing. Justin was a great server. Our favorite was the harissa salmon and the ikra dip. We wanted to try one of everything. Our cocktails were the best we've had in awhile.

Second time eating at Shaya in like 6-8 years; this time was just as good as we remembered. The Coolinary lunch menu was perfect for my husband and I & we got a few apps to start. Great flavor! Will be back again, hopefully in much less than 6 years.

Not what it used to be. The hummus was still amazing, but the pita was flat and doughy. I got the schnitzel sandwich and the chicken wasn’t as juicy as it used to be, it was way to dry and thin. The fries were fine, but not as good as they once were. Overall everything kinda fell flat.

Food is delicious. Service is decent enough. The restaurant itself gets VERY loud at dinner. There’s no carpet to absorb the noise, which was why I could barely have a conversation at dinner. This was personally enough reason for me to knock off 2 stars. Next time, will just order food to go.. Also, had to ask for a coolinary menu - which was our main reason for our reservation. Kinda weird.

This place used to be great. Now it feels like it’s coasting. Indifferent service (I think especially if you’re a single woman of color from a few times that I’ve observed/experienced), and the food has lost some of its sharpness. I got the COOLinary brisket sandwich, and the flavors just didn’t come together. Too greasy, too creamy, it needed something sharp and bracing to cut through all the fatty richness. The pita aren’t what they used to be, either. Flatter and more deflated. I miss what this place was even a few years ago.

Everything was beautiful and well thought out. Nothing was run of the mill. We loved it. The cauliflower hummus was delicious. We enjoyed all of the appetizers as well. Our favorite was the moussaka.

Food was great; however it took over an hour to get our entrees. Had appetizers and then our food entrees never came and it was not even busy. Waiter came over once to apologize and the entrees still didn’t come soon after that. The restaurant did the right thing and comp’t our entrees.

while we were very excited for this restaurant the israeli salad was bland and the shrimp kebab sauce had way too much garlic and took away from a great idea for a dish. ultimately we left disappointed

Some friends told me that going to an Israeli (or Middleastern) restaurant in Nola is like going to Italy to eat sushi. Well, turns out Italy may have the best sushi! Shaya is unpretentious, by far the best fresh wood oven made pita bread I’ve (we) ever had Listen to your waiter and hope you get Robert. The fried chicken hummus was highly recommended. Doesn’t seem like it goes with each other? Try it Tahini was very creamy and delicious, the heirloom tomatoes, tzatziki… you think you’re in Greece But beware… easy to get carried away by the appetizers and you won’t listen to your server who said we wouldn’t finish the incredibly tasty lamb burger, as he kept bringing more hot pita bread. He was right. No space for dessert, but will be back for that. Congratulations to this restaurant

We had reservations so when we arrived we were sat immediately. Great decor and ambiance. The menu looked good and the food was amazing. We got the humus with lamb as an appetizer with an Israeli salad. The hangar steak was delicious. The Lebanese ice tea was refreshing. We enjoyed our meal and look forward to going back soon.
