This was my second visit and it did not disappoint. Will always be a destination for me when I visit Halifax.
We enjoyed the Shuck Seafood and bar...table was fantastic out on the terrace. Although the bar and kitchen had a back up of getting the product out, we enjoyed the atmosphere and once the food and drinks arrives, we were overly impressed with the service and food!
We had a very good meal out on the lovely patio. Great to sit near heaters to keep cozy and warm. Great oysters and seafood was really good. Waiter was also really good - very prompt, good recommendations and helpful! Would recommend a visit here for a nice relaxing dinner or lunch!
Was here for a business dinner but will return with my partner soon!
It wasn’t what we expected.... menu options were disappointing but the food was good. Great service and great atmosphere
Overall it was a great dining experience but it did take 45 minutes to receive my first appetizer. The server Ian was absolutely amazing, he was very attentive to detail, gave great recommendations and engaged with his customers with ease. The food was incredible so in the end the wait was worth it. The scallop carpaccio and tuna sashimi were unbelievable. Will definitely add this restaurant to my monthly roster!
Good location and perfect service, you have to try their oysters and the garlic bread comes with the lobster boil!!
My family of six all tried different things on the menu, and we were all very happy with our dishes. Great service. Lots of smiles!
The food was very good, and the service very friendly. Our server was swamped with a 20-person table just next to us, so wasn’t as quick with the service, but she still got us what we requested as promptly as she could.
We had the market fish, and I loved everything about it. But while the server suggested that it should be shared with 2 people, it really was shareable for 4 people! While I realize that everyone’s capacity is different, perhaps I can make the suggestion that perhaps a quantity be specified on the menu like we do with steak, ie 9 oz, 6 oz, etc.... My ulterior motive in saying this is that I wanted dessert 😛 and stuffing ourselves silly with the main course so we don’t waste any food meant I couldn’t have dessert. 😱
The service was the worst we’d ever seen. We ordered drinks that took 30 minutes to come to the table when theyre were only 4 tables at the resturant. This was OFF-PEAK time at around 2:30, can’t imagine how long it would take at dinner. The food took another 20 minutes and we ordered almost all raw food. I can’t imagine what the kitchen was doing. Overall very poor, would not be returning anytime soon.
The lobster and oysters are DELICIOUS!!! Beautiful patio and wonderful decor. Our service was quite slow but I'm not sure if that's just an off night or what. I'd eat here again and would highly recommend it anyone. The chocolate torte is tasty as well! Enjoy!
We were more than thrilled with the food!! The calamari was AMAZING!! All the food was delicious and we’ll definitely be back soon.
The best oysters I've ever had. Excellent service. Helped us deal with our tired and cranky 18 month old. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
The food was wonderful. The atmosphere was charming. Even though there weren’t many people, it seemed quite loud.
The food was good, we all enjoyed our dishes. Our only gripe is that we ordered a bottle of wine and it was clearly forgotten because we had to remind one of the servers. When it was finally brought to our table, it was already poured off into 6 glasses. We didn’t even see the bottle. They should bring the bottle over to the table and show that they open it in front of the diners. That way we’re sure we’re getting the bottle we ordered. It was the first time this happened to me so I was really surprised, in hindsight I should’ve told the server or manager.
Fresh oysters were fantastic and we all enjoyed our entree. Service was prompt and efficient without being overbearing.
Super expérience ! Je recommande, les lieux sont magnifiques.
Best seafood tower I have ever had. My husbands pasta was ok but definitely the place for raw seafood!!!
Tourist trap is really all that you can say about this place, much better food can be found in Halifax
Triple Play---- Great Food, Good ambiance, Great serving staff!!
Will definitely go back!
Depends. The oysters, scallops and octupus were all very good. The service was average. There were long wait times between courses. The staff were all courteous and helpful when asked. I got the impression they were all too busy. The biggest problem was the noise level. It was so loud at times from clanging dishes and loud patrons that we could not hear one another in conversation. We decided to eat indoors. Outdoors may normally be quieter, except there was a carnival directly opposite the dining area and it was very loud. If you like well prepared and presented seafood this will keep you happy as long as the noise and service is not too distracting.
Very enjoyable, good value, very good service.
My husband is intolerant to seafood but we chose this restaurant because he wanted me (his wife) to expecience a delicious maritime meal.
Because of his difficulty with seafood, he ordered chiken which resulted in a patronizing look from the waiter.
To top it off, the tip was included in the bill but we did not notice because we just wanted to pay and go. So we added another tip! Our fault but the waiter could have offered the information. It was the only restaurant in Halifax that we went to that had the tip already on the bill.
Our waitress helped us choose great fresh oysters and the seafood boil was delicious!
The best food on offer is the fresh seafood, especially oysters. Other dishes could use more finesse.
It was the first restaurant we ended up booking, and did not disappoint. The vibe of the restaurant is really comforting and comfortable, service was exceptional and knows the food and drinks available. The waterfront walkway is just a few steps away. Nice corner restaurant. Would definitely go back and recommend to other people.
It was a pleasant experience, food was good they made me a special salad was very good and it was a beautiful day out as we sat on the Deck Tks.
The food was delicious, as usual, with fast and friendly service.
4 of us for food our server Emily K was excellent, always checking in making sure all was OK. We had the “Tower” and a “Boil” between the four of us.
The Tower is if the truth be known poor value. Food is good but there is just not sufficient for the price. The boil represented better value.
You have to try the BBQ Cauliflower....
Awesome oysters and meal on the whole. Service was a little slow, but very pleasant servers.
Honestly, I didn’t have any food, so I can’t say anything about it.
Wanted to take Mom for seafood. Sat down at 6:15 for a 6:30 reservation. We were early but the place was empty so no wait for a table ... but we waited and waited and waited some more for our appetizers to arrive. We waited far too long, paid for our drinks and left.
My wife and I ate at Shuck for the first time. It was our wedding anniversary. Service was prompt and friendly & atmosphere quiet, which was great. My wife ordered the scallops and I had the Shuck Boil. Food was just ok... I expected better. Scallops were over done & very salty. My lobster was over done and there was an abundance of empty clam shells in the bowl, but just two actual clams. We are Maritimers and we love our sea food. Not a good first experience at Shuck....
Happy hour oysters, fish and chips and the Honey Bee cocktail are all delicious!
We had a late sitting on Friday this summer. It took approx 20 mins for someone to bring us some water, and another 10 before we got the drinks. Thankfully the food came out quick and it was very good.
I’m not sure if this restaurant justifies its price.
We had a great time. Super friendly staff, who were knowledgeable about the food and drinks. The oysters were a fantastic representation of what Atlantic Canada has to offer. We also sampled the pickled char, halibut ceviche, and for mains the scallops (huge) and the Shuck Boil with 1/2 Lobster. Highly recommended.
We were greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant and seated promptly. We were given the choice of the patio or inside, we chose the pad II. We had a great view of the harbour. Our server was very friendly and quick. Food was great,
Our go to for eats before beats at Jazzfest each year. The craft pours were swell and the oysters and raw bar were great.
It was a little bit too noisy for us. There was a party going on and they were very noisy. One of my daughter has autism so she was a bit overwhelmed. We came early to avoid the crowd but still too noisy.
One of us had fish and chips. Chips were great, fish was overcooked and dry. Other person had crab claws. Claws were nicely prepared and tasty. Service was very pleasant and efficient. Used a Groupon which helped make the cost of the meal reasonable.
We had a great evening. My wife and I started with a variety of happy hour oysters and followed it with an amazing whole Arctic char for two. A bottle of Tidal Bay made everything even better. The waitress was really attentive, pleasant and fun, without being intrusive. When we didn't request dessert (the char was enormous), she brought us a complimentary plate of little treats to celebrate our anniversary. Everyone was very thoughtful. A great evening, sitting in the outside patio, enjoying a Halifax summer day.
