Perfect place for sushi, really!
I've been a fan since the Nomi days in roncesvalles and this is even better.
The food is delicious and presented so nicely. We always feel very well taken care of when we dine here.
Thank you Shunoko!!
Sasimi is the best
Better then Yasu because it has more spots and offers a variety of items on the menu.
1st time here for dinner with a girlfriend. We both had the 18 piece Chirashi $31. Fish was fresh. Everything was tasty & I would come back again.
We loved the ambience of the restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious! The waitstaff were friendly and helpful. It was the perfect place for a birthday date!
Amazing food! Wonderful quality and selection of fish. I have already recommended this place to several friends.
Great, creative and fresh ideas on traditional sushi. I would absolutely return.
Great please great food! We would definitely recommend. Sushi is very fresh and tasty
Always fabulous. Great sushi and great service. We will be back.
One of the best meals of my life- hands down. Run, don't walk there
Excellent experience - we tried almost all the rolls on the menu and everything was fantastic. Sashimi set - super fresh with melt in your mouth fish. We even ordered a few of the sharing plates (cauliflower and eggplant) and both were delicious. They accommodated our baby by brining him some plain cauliflower that he munched on while we happily enjoyed our meal. Also a great wine selection - we got to taste a Sancerre that isn’t available at the LCBO. It’s not a cheap place but for a special occasion or date night definitely worth it!
Always great. Thanks!
Some of the best sushi in the city and great value for there quality level. Service i find is not amazing as the servers are a bit timid and junior, that said the food is so well done it’s well worth it.
Not enough staff otherwise amazing
Absolutely great - lunch menus are also v affordable. 60 for 2 people. Fish is v fresh
Wonderful , service and food was exceptionally. Would highly recommend others if they are looking for a nice place to eat with a very good atmosphere
Sushi is good. Attitude was sub par. The restaurant refused to accept the Open Table cheque.
Everything except the music was amazing!
Also allow a little patience as they have a ton of Uber eats
Food was amazing
Fantastic food, charming atmosphere, friendly servers. I’ve been twice in a month and will go again soon; it’s my new favourite local restaurant!
Good place for dinner.
Really liked this place and would give it five stars expect for the chairs and stools. Really uncomfortable. If this placed changed the chairs, woah. Cool, upscale neighbourhood joint at its best.
Although the food is good, there are problems that need to be fixed. First, the front door lets in cold air, so if you sit in the front of the restaurant, you experience uncomfortable cold air as customers come and go. Also, the chairs have very low backs and are uncomfortable to sit in.
Excellent! Fish flown in from Japan. Uni from Vancouver. Decor, Service and location not polished, but good enough. Sushi is the star attraction here. Handful of sakes. Daily 10 piece nigiri excellent ($ 67.50 yesterday) and the reason to return.
Tons of flavor. Loved it. Gotta go back and try the rest.
By far some of the best sushi in Toronto. They have a wide selection of fish which is constantly rotating so their are lots of reasons to go back again-and-again.
Considered Japanese food restaurant owned by Koreans, the fish variety is good for sushi. The sauce on top is interesting and creative. Fish is fresh. Since it was our first time, we ordered the $120 Omakase as we want to try the hot dish as well and want to compare quality with other pricey Japanese restaurant. The appetizer is so so, very standard steamed egg and squash salad. No special technique nor high quality ingredients. A bit disappointing. It does come with a small plate of ‘wagyu’ but again nothing special. Hot dish can be improved especially for the $120 menu. The dessert though is good. Very nicely decorated an tasty especially the green tea terrain. This restaurant has its potential if it can improve on the hot plates. I saw other customer having the $90 Omakase which seems to be a better deal as it has the 15 sushi and the one appetizer is fish which looks a lot more appetizing than ours. That menu seems to be a better choice if one wants to try. Sake choice is limited if you are used to going to real Japanese restaurant. Service is quite good though throughout. Worth a try.
We went for a weekday lunch and my companion and I both ordered the 10 piece nigiri omakase. The fish was incredible. Pacing was perfect (resto was also nearly empty when we were there because it was the holidays). The chef who served us clearly took a lot of pride in what he did and he knew the provenance of every fish and told us all sorts of interesting anecdotes during the meal. The price is pretty mental when you break it down, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I left satisfied and would definitely go back again.
We also split the black sesame creme brûlée and it was very small but had a lovely flavour.
Best sushi in the city.
Birthday!! Love their black cod in miso and cauliflower dish😋
This place is amazing for a two person date. Small, quaint, perfect decent priced date night. Service is great and fish quality is amazing! Would recommend.
This is our first time here and we loved it. We didn't order the omakase when we made the reservation but Chef Shunoko accommodated our order any way. Fish was VERY fresh and yummy.
Instead of normal sushi, it’s kind of fusion..
Sushi are too saucy, and the sushi rice too salty. Shrimp tempura come with 3pcs and it looks and tastes really funny..
Compare to the food quality the price is way too high. Total bill was $140 for two.. without any drinks
Don’t think will go again..
It was our first time eating at Shunoko and we had an outstanding time! The food was delicious! The server was incredible!
Best sushi in Toronto, hands down! Can’t wait to go again!
We booked here for our anniversary. They provided excellent service especially we had omakase. The chief is very experienced and gave us all explanations.
The food was generally quite good. The variety of fish offered was impressive for Toronto. And some of the dishes were innovative. But the wine by the glass was very poor value. And the seating was very uncomfortable.
Food was good, but service was lacking a bit for a restaurant that serves omakase. I've had better service elsewhere.
Very fresh above average melt in your mouth sushi. A definite find.
