We had a table in the early afternoon, so the restaurant was not busy. All the staff was friendly and helpful. We are definitely returning for Friday Marimba Night. The Poke bowl and Azteca Ceviche was excellent

Excellent dinner experience. This was our second time here and Isabella was our server again. We couldn’t ask for more. She is amazing. The music and environment were great. We have more than 3 employees going to our table just to ask how was everything and if help was needed. The ceviches are excellent and the filet’s Rey and the fried whole snapper amazing. I really recommend the guava margarita…it is to die for….the pecan cake was lovely and a great portion to feed 4 people. This restaurant is a gem if you want seafood Latino style. 100% recommended and I wished I can give you 6 stars….we will be back for sure and this time with friends…Blessings

1st visit, Friday date night. Made a resy for 2 same day, 7:30pm. We were greeted and seated immediately. There was live music, man on a marimba and a couple of keyboards. I believe it was Calypso style music. Our server was so nice and attentive! I had the house margarita on the rocks. Next time I'll ask for less ice . We were served complimentary mini cup of the lobster soup (great flavor with a little heat), as well as some dips and crackers. I really liked the cucumber dip. Delicious! We started with oysters. They were served with a sweet chili sauce and some type of sweet vinegar sauce. I really liked it. We were then served house salads, that was unexpected. The salad had mixed greens, pecans, strawberry, raisins and onions with a ranch dressing. I had the lemon pepper flounder, it was good. Just watch out for them tiny bones. You are able to sib sides. They have veggies and they are good with that yellow rice. Anywho, I look forward to eating here again and again. The service was friendly and prompt. The food was delicious and the music was great.

We will be back. Great tasting food. I had the Pescado Guero with the grilled vegetables. We admire the restaurants whose vegetables are squash, zucchini, red and green peppers, onions, and more. Not just lettuce and tomatoes. The plantains were sweet. They actually had a Day of the Dead shrine in the entrance, just like I saw in Guadalajara.

This was my second visit to Simar and I am very happy to say it was everything the first visit was and then some. The service the best I’ve received anywhere for a long time. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, with some excellent suggestions. The food was excellent with just the right blend of spice and flavor. I’ll definitely be back for more.

We were one of two tables. We ordered drinks, a cocktail and a beer, and some raw oysters. The cocktail was way too sweet, but the beer was nice and cold. We shared an entree of swordfish and coconut shrimp. The shrimp was great but the fish was terrible. It was dry and very over seasoned. Before we finished eating, they turned the lights way up making it very awkward.

It really feels like you are walking into a restaurant in the Mexican Yucatan when you enter this restaurant! The service was really great even though the server was busy. Her recommendations were spot on -- delicious margaritas and appetizers. Loved the pulpo ceviche. The paella wasn't typical paella--rather various ingredients put together, not cooked together. I don't recommend that or the gulf oysters. Just not my favorite. Overall the food was good but not spectacular. However, the ambiance, service and good drink pricing was terrific. We will try it again for happy hour.

If you’ve enjoyed food in the Yucatán peninsula, you must eat here. The whole red snapper with Veracruz sauce was amazing. Mexican style shrimp cocktail is huge and full of shrimp. Fish tacos are excellent. All the seafood is very fresh. Great value. Can’t wait to go back.
