Donald McIsaac erected this beautiful three storey brick building in 1862-1864 on Sims Corner, so called because the property had been in the possession of Thomas and Charlotte Alchorn Sims from 1806.

The most colourful owner and occupant of the building was Mr. P.P. Gillis, who ran the “Red Pharmacy” between 1895 and 1910.

A drug-store in the front half of the building and a reputed conviviality shop in the rear, proved very popular with local businessmen while prohibition was in effect. This location has also been a large family home, apartments and a barber shop.

In the fall of 2005 local restaurateur Murphy's purchased the building and began the process of renovating to create what you are experiencing today.

From start to finish an amazing experience! The ambiance was sophisticated and warm. The food was AMAZING! I would highly recommend the seafood bruschetta. I would go there for this alone! The steaks we had were flavourful and delicious. They were cooked perfectly to order. This is a very special place. We will be back when in PEI again. Thank you!

Ambient music a bit too loud and sometimes difficult to hear clients we were at dinner. Otherwise amazing experience all around :)

As someone who grew up in PEI and never went here because of the prices, I wish I went sooner. The service was efficient and friendly, with timely delivery of drinks and meals. We went on a Saturday night for a date with a reservation for 7pm and didn’t expect such timely and pleasant service. The food itself was delicious. We started with a ceasar salad to split which was perfect to split with a glass of sangria (so much wine!) and a beer. The striploin was perfectly cooked and flavoured. I usually always go with mashed potatoes but man, the roasted baby red potatoes were the way to go. Crispy, salty, flavourful. My partner got the seafood fettuccine, which he enjoyed very much but wished there was less sauce and more seafood. Otherwise, he said it was worth it. Despite the price, I’d recommend at least once.

Food was very tasty, loved the seafood bruschetta appetizer. Service was very good, efficient and friendly. Steak was quite chewy, but flavourful! For for the money I would have expected a more tender meat, but also recognize sirloin isn't the most high end cut. All in all very nice. A treat for sure.

although it was quite expensive and my bill came to almost 200$ the service was outstanding it was the best service i have ever had while dinning out. the food was wonderful from just the bread to the to the appetizers and the mains and desserts it was all around just delicious. The best dinning experience i have ever had.

If you’re looking for a great steak, Sim’s is the right choice. We enjoyed a Winterdine meal here and loved the meatballs app and steak entré. The desert was fine but not over the top. Service was quick and excellent. Wine pairings were a real treat.

A perfect spot to eat, the food beautifully prepared and cooked, steak oh so tender, and cooked to our perfection, garlic mashed, and root veggies..We tried the baked oysters, along with fresh raw oysters, so so lovely..great experience!
