Will definitely be back!
They have a Happy Hour menu on their website, but they said it wasn't available. It was the sole reason we chose the restaurant. I had finished my glass of wine, and they never asked if I wanted another one. The waiter had disappeared, but the restaurant was almost empty. Terrible place, terrible service.
I arrived for their early catch which their version of happy hour only to learn that they are no longer doing it. I complained to the hostess and bartender who thought I was crazy and dumb and had to show them their NYC website listing the menu. The bartender reached out to the manager Ike who clarified the matter and informed me that their website has not yet been updated. To make it up to my friend who is a wine drinker he offered to do 2 for 1 drinks. Another observation I noted was when I entered the restaurant I had to show proof of vaccination and my government issued ID meanwhile my friend who is Jewish and white walked in and was not asked to show proof of vaccination let alone her ID. The reason the staff was accommodating was because my friend informed them of my belated birthday, which was three weeks ago.
Ike sat us down in a booth area. The wait staff was very pushy and neurotic especially we stopped eating for no more than 5 minutes that they are so eager to take our plates or glasses away.
We shared the Caesar Salad, which was beautifully presented and it contained anchovies which was tolerable. The salad was OK, not our favorite. My friend ordered the lamb chops which were delicious and the sauce was to die for. I ordered the branzino because they did not have salmon along with a side of brussel sprouts. I was impressed by the quantity and the taste was very good and the dish could definitely could feed at least two people. So I ate half and took the other half home. I was served with a dessert of baklava and vanilla cream with a candle for my belated birthday. The ice cream was great but the baklava was not as fresh.
There were several kinks that restaurants is continuing to work on since they just opened a few months ago. Ike was very personable and I would return when he is working there because he would ensure that his customers will be accommodated and welcomed.
Great food and friendly service
Upon being seated we were visited by who I believe was the owner of the restaurant. We asked the owner to create a tasting menu for us. He presented us with a beautiful steak and an entire Branzino. The highlight of the entrees was the scallops over a risotto.
The food was delicious, the service was great, I will definitely be back.
Restaurant was not clean. Glasses were dirty from prior use. Food was good. Service was strange. First interaction was about fifteen minutes after being seated. Food came out in wrong order. Refused to offer a wine list and instead insisted on one white wine. Forgot to bring side dishes with main course. Madagascar Shrimp (about 4 ounces of shrimp meat for >$30 as a main course) should be avoided at all cost! To top it off restaurant claimed to OpenTable that we did not show up. Maybe they were confused…they did not show up…unfortunately we did!!
The ambiance and decor was really great. The service was confusing and slow. We received food multiple times for a table that sat next to us and moved and then ended up with their bill. The food itself tasted great however, it made my partner violently sick that night on his birthday. The wine was also very much overpriced at $15 a glass which we didn’t find out until the correct check came.
Nice! we leave the theater late and they wait for us! excellent service and food too! Thank you!
We went there primarily for Oysters but they did not have any. That was just the beginning of a number of things they did not have right down to no coffee or tea 🤷🏽♂️. Our waiter was extremely friendly and sympathetic to our situation. Thankfully the restaurant did try to make up for the missed items with other items. We were hoping for a wonderful evening given the beautiful setting but left disappointed. Hopefully the restaurant will get it right for other guests.
Service, food, and ambience was exactly what we wanted. The concierge at our hotel made the perfect recommendation for us to dine here. Ike was a amazing and a true host that made us feel welcomed. I hope to return again very soon !!
A most visually beautiful restaurant and yes, I did feel like I was back in Greece. Bernie showed us to our table and very comfortable seating, by the way. The food was exquisite…..I had grilled calamari and roasted salmon. My friend and I had the white Greek wine by the glass—perfect accompaniment to our seafood. A Greek dessert was brought out on the house, which made it even more special. Am looking forward to returning to this midtown oasis in the autumn!
Great food and extra friendly service.
Food is absolutely delicious. They only have restaurant week menu for lunch. we went with calamari and zucchini chips for starters, both are delicious. The calamari is very juicy and tender and the zucchini chips are well coated and seasoned. For main course, we got tuna pasta and crispy salmon. I love love the salmon, the skin is crispy and the pink meat is so soft and melt in your mouth. My brother got the tuna pasta which was delicious as well and full with flavor. The services are outstanding as well. Highly recommended!
I am so excited that a new restaurant has taken over this great location. I went for restaurant week and had a very nice experience. The hummus and branzino were just delicious, and the dessert was excellent, as well. Skorpios is a welcome addition to the area’s dining scene.
A friend recommended that I try out Skorpios for dinner. It is near the office and the restaurant was on point! The food was fresh, delicious and beautiful. Try the branzino...it is off the charts. The space is beautiful and gives you all the Greek island vibes. Happy to have them in the neighborhood.
Food was great, staff very polite and space was relaxing and beautiful. Will definitely go back!
I had such an incredible meal at Skorpios! The seafood was fresh, the octopus with the citrus was light and tasty. We shared the pasta dish with lobster and the greek salad with the most amazing tomatoes. If you need an upscale spot to impress, this is your place.
From the moment we sat down in this exquisitely decorated restaurant my friend and I felt we had been transported to the Greek islands (helped by the fact it was a beautiful sunny day). Both Ike and Bernie were superb hosts, warm, friendly & attentive without being intrusive. Their restaurant month menu was limited but everything sounded delicious. We had zucchini chips & Greek salad to start followed by lemon chicken and tuna pasta. All of the food was cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. We were even treated to a perfect sized portion of galaktoboureko for dessert and all for just $21 per person! I can’t wait to return to sample their full menu
They don't need the Mykonos disco soundtrack blaring all over the place. It's a bright, attractive interior, and the food is excellent. Lose the loud music (at least for dinner) and this place will be one of my mainstays in this otherwise impossible-to-find-good-food-at-a-good-price neighborhood.
First in-person dinner meeting since March 2020. Skorpios is new to the neighborhood and came recommended by a colleague. It did not disappoint! The space is stunning, the service is warm and attentive and the food was perfection. Loved the tuna tartare, the Greek village salad and the halibut. All in all, Skorpios is a gem in Midtown East. I will be return with my husband and friends.
I walked by Skorpios on my way to work one morning & decided to give it a try.
The food was delicious: I highly recommend the Zucchini chips, the grilled kalamari & the salmon!
The restaurant is perfect for a date night, for a night out with friends or a business lunch/dinner. Loved the decor that really reminded me of Greece!
Εfharisto Skorpios … until next time!
Great food great place a new gem at midtown Manhattan!!!!!!
Lovely spot with excellent food. Staff was professional but very warm & welcoming. Will definitely return
