   It's not just about how good the food is! Had the wine pairing it's the conversion and fun you have trying all the great and interesting food and wine! It's a dining experience like no other so much fun! Really grab a few friends and treat yourself it's a great evening!

   Still somehow feels like a hidden gem! The food is amazing…sort of progressive, sort of oldest of school…but always worth it! Creative and delicious. With pretty much everything used is created and made in house, the outcomes are usually fantastic. The wine list is super cool and well considered. A select few cocktails, also fantastic. And, although not overly into beer, they appear to have a nice little interesting selection there!

   Loved our time at Smokey bear! The food was delicious, service was great and ambience was very nice. There is something special about food cooked over the open flame, and made so well. We will definitely be back and highly recommend!

   Unfortunately, the experience at Smokey Bear was a bit of a disappointment. The food was not good, out of 6 dishes we ordered, there was was only 1 dish that our group enjoyed. For the price you pay, there are much better smoke houses that we have been to. The short ribs barely had any meat on it, the majority of it was fat, which when you are paying $40 for it, was disappointing. The salmon was a little too rare for my liking (which some people may enjoy) and the chicken lacked flavour in my opinion. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. I think for the price point there are wayyyy better restaurants in Edmonton that you would leave satisfied by the service and food.

    I found the service and atmosphere to be excellent. The flat bread dish was incredibly well balanced, the carrots with pomegranate were sweet and delicious and the ricotta complimented them both well. The Brussels sprouts were without a doubt the best I’ve had in my life. Unfortunately the short rib, while delicious, came out like warm which was moderately disappointing. The dessert was phenomenal, however the inclusion of so much candied peels resulted in every bite leaving the chewy residue stuck between my teeth.

    The service was amazing. The servers were very well educated in their product, and it was clear They also truly enjoy the menu items. We ordered approximately 10 items, and every single one was scrumptious. The highlight of the meal was the beef short rib, which is some of the best beef I’ve had in the last 15 years. This restaurant is a definite must.

    We booked a table for 6 people for the NYE dinner. The quality of food did not suffice. We felt rushed. The server wasn't knowledgeable with the wine. Overall we won't be back. When we think of good dining in the city. This place just doesn't match up for us.

    Smokey Bear is one of the top dining experiences in Edmonton. We were wow’d by all the diverse tastes; it was an amazing evening. The staff are top-notch and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. We will definitely be back!

    I have to say, this is an outstanding restaurant in Edmonton. As a visitor I am so glad we decided to eat here and it won't be forgotten. My suggestion is to sit at the bar if you are a small party. I wish I had to take in some of the crafting of the food.

    The ambiance and service was excellent, the place is very cool. The menu is pretty good but there are definitely dishes that are better than others. I would recommend going but asking your server for their favourites or the most popular ones. A very cool place that is locally owned and should be checked out! Everything is also cooked on an open flame so the flavours and smokiness are delicious.

    We did the tasting menu with the expectation that it would highlight the best they have to offer - not the case! For $95 pp we ate essentially nothing but vegetables - almost insulting for the price. Do not recommend.

    Every time I've been here, something has been surprising, and the combinations always work. Open-flame cooking makes an astonishing difference. From chicken to ribs, creatively combined vegetables and the wonderfully charred flatbread...delicious! Best pork chop of my life. Portions are generous for two people.

    We had the tasting menu with paired wine. Our server was more like a host, and his well-timed attention, along with the food/wine made it a wonderful memorable evening. Unique flavors and textures; all very good. Just the right amount of food that we could appreciate every plate and never felt overfed. We would go again for sure.

    We came to Smokey Bear for date night. WOW! What an amazing experience. The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable. Food was thoughtful and very delicious. An amazing selection of beverages available.

    This is one of Edmontons gems and everyone should make some time to come here and do the Chefs Menu. It is a perfect experience in every way and the food is beyond reproach. We love this place and can’t say enough amazing things about it.

    Important menu note: everything on the menu = two portions. Meaning, we enjoyed three delicious courses and a glass of wine for well under $50 each, all in. Anything that touches the grill (open flame!) - including the chicken and chops - becomes instantly divine. There's a smokiness that isn't overpowering, + perfect seasoning and charred deliciousness. Creative sauces and accoutrements, with some surprises (i.e. one veg dish was served cold - still delicious!).
