Smoque N Bones
At Smoque N’ Bones, we are proud of both our home and our heritage. Drawing inspiration from the heart of America, we bring Southern Hospitality to our beloved city in a unique blend of styles from Memphis, Texas, Kansas, the Carolinas, and of course, Toronto.
Our commitment to authenticity is showcased in every aspect of the restaurant, starting with our classic, Southern BBQ style menu. Everything that leaves our kitchen is made from scratch with love. Our Southern Pride smoker was tailor-made for our intimate dining room in order to provide a distinctive and genuine flavor, aroma, color, & texture in all of our meats. Even the tables have a story – topped with reclaimed wood from an old house on Palmerston and lit with bunker and prison lights from WWII.
Slightly tight seating, which was more uncomfortable during covid eta, but a fun neighbourhood spot with good food.
Great food and ambiance. Really great BBQ in the city.
Really cool place to eat but it's quite small and hard to have any personal space. Service was good and the food was absolutely amazing. Great place to eat.
Great food and atmosphere would return and recommend
Needed to track down staff a little too much, but were great nonetheless.
The food was absolutely amazing!! Had a great catch-up with friends
bad music choice (too much heavy trance and house music)
The food was so tasty, everything was delicious, the waiters extremely nice, we had a great night!
Food was spectacular, service was horrendous. Was at the restaurant for 2.5 hours, only 30 mins of eating, the rest waiting to have our order taken/waiting for food. Place seemed heavily under staffed
The staff at Smoque n’ Bones went over and beyond to make my birthday celebration special! Appreciated the attentiveness so much. And of course, the food is just to die for!!!
Had been here in the past and was looking forward to some great food. But after nearly 40 minutes of waiting for a server to come and take our drinks order, (let alone a food order) we walked out without even an acknowledgement from the staff.
Clearly this place is either understaffed, mismanaged or both. With many businesses, struggling to stay afloat with the pandemic, you'd expect a higher level of service.
We did end up going to Sneaky Dees. Amazing nachos and killer potato skins.
Amazing bbq. Very good food and the sides definitely paired very well and the standard was on par
The food was really good.
Great good. that brisket is heavenly.
Amazing experience and great foods
It’s my first time to dine out after almost a year and i did NOT regret having smoque n’ bones as my first restaurant of choice.👏🏻👏🏻 I sooooo LOVE the side ribs the BEST! The caesar salad is a MUST! Brussels sprouts of course. My boyfriend had his usual brisket and sausage with mac n cheese and to top it off with cornbread, delightful! Made my first dine out an exceptional experience!! Smoque n bones, you never fail my expectations!!! Keep it up and its nice to see you guys again. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I’ve been here a number times and have always had a great time. I want to make clear that the food and service have never been an issue and I really like this place (normally).
That said, last night we arrived for our reservation and got a table around 8:50. Servers walked by us for ~15 minutes before one came up asking if we’d been served. It took them another 15 or so minutes to get us menus and water. We ordered our food and drinks (~9:15). The drinks came around 20 minutes later and around 10:15pm the server came out saying they didn’t have our food.
It was pretty ridiculous even on a busy night to have staff that “forget” to punch in an order until they bring your drinks out and it takes the staff another 40+ minutes to find out that they don’t have any of the stuff you ordered when people who arrived after you are being served repeatedly.
We chose to come here and obviously needed to eat a late dinner because there were no reservations earlier so when you find out after 10pm there’s no food for you and they’re asking you to order something else and with the timing they have it would take an additional 30-40 minutes. It demonstrates that these particular staff members cared little for their customers (especially with combined with the rest of the night).
Anyways, this was fairly disappointing to say the least, I don’t think I’ve ever written a bad review for a restaurant before. I would encourage management to better train some of their staff, staff more people, and perhaps become more involved when a customer says they’re disappointed rather than have the server, whom is the individual at the heart of the issue and has already demonstrated their relative incompetence, deal with it.
Mixed feelings on this one. It was incredibly slow, long before the rush. The food was good, but very expensive for what it is. The chicken sandwiches are about half the chicken weight of certain popular franchise sandwiches, at 3x time price. Good, but not great. Trying to get our bill took forever.
I still want to try the brisket, but I'm going to go for takeout next time and skip the dine-in.
Loved the ribs, pork and fennel sausage, drumsticks, brussel sprouts, corn bread, pecan pie and bread pudding
Great food and service
Great place, food and service. Been there many times. This was my first time since the pandemic. I found the ribs little too dry and the brisket too lean. Other than that. It’s a great place
The food is amazing and the service is really good.
I will come back for sure
Went for dinner and sat outside. The prices of the dishes on the menu from OpenTable / their website / their paper menu were all different. They should try to make sure the latest prices are consistent on the many different venues.
Side dishes are small as well.
The food was amazing, but it took an hour to come out. Took forever to get seating even with the reservation and pretty impossible to get attention for service.
The food took over an hour and a half.
Sat with no server or drinks for 35 minutes
Horrible won’t return
Great meal and very friendly staff. Food was terrific.
They were accommodating when we arrived a bit early for our reservation. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and food was absolutely delicious!
Very reliable bbq. Brisket is great as is their spin on Nashville Hot Chicken. Corn bread is a must. Patio is on the roadway but that is ok.
Our first time there. Service was outstanding. We ordered the platter for two and it did not disappoint. Food tasted delicious. Prices were reasonable too. We will definitely go back or order for take out to enjoy at home.
Best BBQ in Toronto! Ribs and beef brisket are just another level. Our server was awesome and kind. All reasons why I go back, and back, and back again.
Food is amazing, so many great options. Had to sit outside, but very great location.
Always love this place. Great ambiance at the bar stools watching the magic happen. Very tasty drinks and some great menu options. Will keep coming back.
Awesome customer service, delicious food, great atmosphere
The cocktails were delicious, but a lackluster barbeque menu to say the least
Always enjoy the food here but this time the experience was a bit ruined by being forgotten on the second floor. Waited about 20 mins from being seated and I actually had to call the restaurant to remind them there were two tables upstairs waiting for service. Once the staff served us, service was good and food was good.
My husband and I absolutely loved our date night here. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was lively and fun. Definitely recommend the beef short ribs and the chicken poppers.
A must for anyone who appreciates bbq and bourbon.
Delicious food! Highly recommend
Excellent service right from the time I made, and then had to modify, a reservation through to the "team approach" to table service. Food was outstanding and we'll be back to try some different combinations.
