Good drinks, beautiful space. Restaurant feels like an afterthought though . Given the price of the food, it’s massively disappointing. It’s near fine dining prices and portions delivered with very average food and mediocre service. And it’s super loud so keep that in mind if you’re celebrating something special. Server was nice, but most often nowhere to be found. They were sold out of two of three fish options but server not aware which of them was available and never came back to confirm what I would be getting after saying they would let me know. They proceeded to bring out the wrong starter which to their credit they fixed quickly. So the ‘surprise’ fish arrived—$46 for a piece of poorly deboned Branzino and wedge of lemon. Not a single string bean, carrot, potato, tapenade ..you get it.. present on the dish, just a slab of fish placed on the far right hand side of an oblong plater. Still not sure if they forgot something or if it was revenge for not ordering $19 side of mushrooms from the get go 😂. When I asked for a side they said they weren’t sure if the kitchen could turn it around in reasonable time—despite telling me when we ordered that we could add sides as needed. Pasta dish was embarrassingly amateur, I’ll leave it there. It’s a place to see and be seen but in no way a serious restaurant for those that have been to ones that truly are. There are just too many other options for outstanding food with ambiance in this wonderful city. At most I’d grab a drinks in the bar on a random week night which I’m confident it would do very well—the drinks were excellent and you can’t really screw up bar bites right?

We typically go to Sophia once a month and travel about an hour and a half to have great food with great service. Unfortunately, with this visit the service was just not good. She was worried more about the men at the other table hitting on her than to take our drink order. She also has no service etiquette. We ordered a bottle of still water for evening and as she poured our water excessively, the glass seemed as if it cracked because of how hard the bottle clicked with the glass. We wanted to enjoy a few more drinks, but unfortunately she was more focused on the one table that we couldn’t really get her attention. We asked for the bill, she brought it out and someone else brought out a machine. We paid cash and was expecting either our server to come back or the woman who came with the machine, but she/they again, took a while. We gave it to the woman that seemed to be a manager (woman of Asian decent) and left. We’ll definitely return as the they do have amazing food, we’ll just make sure that we are with a server that we seen before or an older individual that isn’t looking to be picked up for the night.

Overall great experience! Our server was attentive and there was a nice ambiance. The manager seemed a little annoyed and inconvenienced when they had to come over when we experienced issues with the card reader.

Came here for our anniversary. The ambiance was excellent and the service was very good. The crowd was good too. I ordered the lobster and ravioli dish. A $75 plate that left me still incredibly hungry as the portion was extremely small with just 2 tiny pieces of ravioli and a small lobster

The ambience is nice and service was good. The interior is beautiful. My pasta was served cold however and the taste was average. My friend ordered lobster pasta and there was very little lobster on it. Salad arrived late also. Cocktail was good. Overall however, for the high prices, the food was not satisfactory.

We had been very happy with Sofia. It had become our favourite restaurant, and we often entertained there. But our last visit strained the relationship, and so we are in no hurry to return. The problem was the music. It was loud, obnoxious dance music, definitely not dining music, starting about 6 pm. We asked for the music to be turned down, but our request was not granted. So we left without having coffee to complete the meal.

The atmosphere was fantastic especially with the live music which was perfect (not too loud ). The food was great. I was disappointed with 1 aspect of the service as they brought us a Barolo instead of a Barbers(big difference!)Luckily I caught it as I am a wine professional.Also they brought us the food before the wine which took us into the second course before the wine was opened. The service was too fast as they cleared the dishes before we were finished.Generally however very nice evening

Food was great. For the price point I really did expect a little more attentiveness from our server. She barely checked in with us and was not personable at all. The hostess was great she sat us and the table next to us was extremely loud when I asked to be moved she immediately moved us.

The place is more about the ambience than the food. Located in Yorkville - it is nearby to Rosedale but food wise there are better options. Branzino was ok. But the Wagyu filet was ordered medium rare came out medium well and was two slices of steak on mashed potato. Steak is difficult to mess up! Bottle wine kept the evening going. Too many other places to go to and try.

While Sofia boasts a fantastic ambience and delightful cocktails, I found the food this time around to be rather lackluster, especially the pasta dishes. If you’re in search of exquisite culinary delights, this might not be the spot. But, if you’re aiming for a chic setting perfect for snaps and being among a stylish crowd, it’s spot-on. I visited last year and the dining experience was far superior; unsure what has changed in their quality control since.

the layout of the restaurant and seating was excellent. Good distances from other people yet close enough to give a nice vibe. The service was excellent. Overall the food was good, the veal was a bit dry and the calamari a bit too much deep fried. the octopus, amazing.

We had the most beautiful Thanksgiving meal at Sofia! Perfect for any special occasion. Such gorgeous and elegant decor. Wonderful service and the best location! All of our meals and cocktails were spectacular!! Looking forward to returning with my friends for holiday gatherings. Thanks so very much for a terrific and magical dining experience. Beautiful restaurant. Too loud if you're near the DJ. It was a busy night so the service was particularly slow. We often had to flag down anyone we could to get our server. The food was amazing!
