Tapping into true Italian tastes, the menu starts with a selection of antipasti including a citrus salad and grilled octopus, and a plentiful selection of crudo. Mains feature fresh pasta, pesce and locally sourced carne, with a traditional, Italian heritage Chianina florentine steak.

The cocktail program is a refreshing medley of signature drinks with an Italian twist. Expertly crafted by mixologist Nishan Nepulangoda, cocktails are enhanced by regional herbs and fresh in-house cordials, and named in tribute to the country’s vast geography and pop culture history.     The food was not as advertised, the potatoes were boiled rather that their signature potatoes, eggs were cold. Service way too slow given the restaurant was quiet. Very surprised given that I have been several times—- appears as of there was a change in management, chef something.

    It really is a wonderful space… The core is lovely and overall the food had some hits, but it also had some misses. I will comment on the service because I believe it to be outstanding… I’ve been a few times to Sophia and I will say that the attention to detail is extra extraordinary. The weight staff are professional engaged and committed to ensuring a wonderful evening. I had the Bronzino, which was terribly smoky tasting. I know it’s supposed to be charred over a grill, but the white flash had an over smoked aftertaste to it. My guest and I had pasta dishes which were extraordinary. The pasta was not overcooked, and the sauces were flavourful and delicate. It was a good evening, but I was a little disappointed in the fish.

    Overall it was good, but they cannot give you a side of protein to add to your salad. I ordered a salad and asked for a side of grilled chicken breast and they said they do not do that. When I asked for either shrimp or octopus so I can add to my salad, they said they do not do that and referred me to other things in their menu to buy next to my salad. I did not get any other side. They should have had the ability to give me some grilled octopus or grilled shrimp.

    Food is amazing, music was good, but volume was a little bit loud seemed like we were yelling across the table. I think if I was sitting beside my girlfriend it would have been ok
