Went out for date night. It was our first time there, the apps/pasta was amazing, the service was great. My only complaint would be that it was kinda loud and hard to hear each other.
Good music, romantic ambience, delicious food.
Beautiful restaurant and great decor. Food was tasty and interesting.
had an excellent first experience, waiter was awesome and very helpful in explaining dishes and making recommendation, food was excellent and so was the wine, we have already booked our next dinner.
Very poor desert menu
Tiramisu below average
we had to wait more than 40 min for the food
The food was amazing, especially the lobster pasta! The service is top notch. The staff is very attentive and really care about the customers experience. The atmosphere is a high-end, upscale, and visually appealing. Has a cool 70s vibe.
Superb food and service. Thank you Sarah we all had a super time.
Always amazing. Never disappointing.
Great place! Fantastic ambience and equally fantastic food. We were in the bar area which was really nice - clubby and lounge-y- I think I may have preferred it to the main room. Had a fantastic Branzino with a side of scrumptious potatoes and an arugula salad to start. My friend had the Veal Milanese which was outrageous.
Also love the Yorkville section of Toronto. Don’t miss Sofia’s!
The customer service from all the staff was above and beyond. Truly felt they appreciated our business. I can’t wait to return and check out the patio in the spring. Food was amazing.
This was my first time going to Sofia Yorkville which was on Valentine's Day. The ambiance was amazing! I REALLY enjoyed the band that was playing. They performed a bunch of old school music from artist like James Brown, Bob Marley and Marvin Gaye. Definitely a night to remember! Food was delicious!
My partner and I came to Sofia for dinner on Valentine's day. Overall, I would rate the atmosphere and service A+ and the food a B. For appetizers we had the crostini and oysters which were both delicious. We wanted to order the fried olives but they had run out, however our server was kind enough to bring us a dish of marinated olives to snack on. The main dishes were ok - my partner had the rack of lamb which was a good portion size for the price and was cooked nicely. I had the agnoloti al tortofo - I unfortunately did not find my dish to be very flavourful and the serving size was smaller than I would have expected. For dessert we ordered the tiramisu. The presentation was fantastic but again the flavour was lacking. There was a scoop of delicious coffee ice cream, but I found that the tiramisu itself was very bland and almost watery - not creamy and no pronounced coffee flavour like you would expect. Drinks were delicious and I would highly recommend trying something from the cocktail menu. Our server was very pleasant as well! Great place to go people watching, but the food itself wasn't up to my standards.
A place where memories are made. Looking forward to returning.
By far - the best service in Toronto. From the front desk to anyone we met in between, everyone was kind, helpful and paid attention to the details. The food was delicious. We kept taking smaller bites just so it could last longer. The ambiance was wonderful; modern but comfy velvet chairs to the rounded lounge area. We will definitely be coming back, and be recommending it to friends and family.
Great food and service. Wine list is good, including some excellent selections by the glass. Prices are fairly high, but that is to be expected given the location and food/service quality.
The decor isnt really my style (too edgy/modern), and the seats weren’t that comfortable. The crowd is young and eligible, with lots of preening young girls and upwardly mobile (or wanna be) young guys at the bar area trying to impress them. Still, the food is great and the scene can be mentally forced into the background, as the bars location keeps the dining area fairly secluded from the “action” area.
Will return for the service and the food.
The pasta here is the best in all the Downtown Toronto area; on sundays they have a promo for half off pasta and dessert, which is great value.
The lady who served us was amazing!!!
Everything was amazing and good
Great food and atmosphere, would definitely recommend this restaurant. Service is usually great but our last visit, our server did not deliver the usual great service.
Everyone was very professional and the service was excellent. The food was delicious, however my branzino was full of bones. The waiter came and scraped some of the bones away but I still had to navigate my way very carefully through it.
Recently took my friend for his birthday and it was my first time there. Had such a great experience. Very impressed with the cocktails, the fresh food, the ambience and the all of the staff is super warm and welcoming! I liked it so much I am now going to celebrate my birthday there next weekend!
A beautiful bar, romantic regular seats and great service. Portions could be a bit better. I will definitely be back.
Ambience, food, and our waiter was amazing but their manager or whoever it was that was at the door with the hostess was horrible. I had something that I had to give to a friend but didn’t bring out a shopping bag to put in, I asked them if I can have one of those take out shopping bags to keep it in. He said no right away, and when the hostess looked at him and asked “don’t we have one of those...” he cut her off and said “we’re out”. So I asked if they can keep it in the back with my coat check and he stared it and said I can’t hang that. This guy is not only an idiot but a rude person who should not be in service industry. So I said just keep it in the back somehow I don’t care if you need to figure out a way but I can’t keep it during my meal then he took it to the back. To my surprise, in the middle of my meal, the table next to us got some take out in several different take out bags so I asked our waiter if I can have one of the bags and he brought it out right away. I am ready to reevaluate them once their arrogant manager gets fired.
The restaurant was really beautiful! Our waiter David is okay. The food is good. We will come back.
The staff are very professional and nice and very accommodating ! Music is amazing and food is great. Onw of the issues is their washroom. They only have 1 (maybe 2), always people waiting at the door and in the winter it’s pretty cold in the area.
Everything was just ok- nothing was special. They just seemed to miss the mark. The place wasn’t that busy on a Thursday night. Fish was $80.
Great service and it's a gorgeous restaurant with a great bar area...size portion of the main course could hv been biggee but nonetheless it's very delicious!
I have been here before, and I was not disappointed the second time around! Great service and great food. I love this place!
My wife and I decided to try Sofia for dinner, we have been there many times for drinks. We started with apps, I had the octopus and she had the oysters. The octopus was not bad it was a bit over done, she loved her oysters. We order both the beef filet for $60, let me tell you what a big disappointment , for the price it was two tiny medallions and not even tasty, our sides where pretty good. I had the mushrooms and she loved her spinach. Dessert was okay. I had the tiramisu, which was not fantastic and she had the pana-cada , which she loved. Overall service was excellent but price of food and portion size I would not go back again.
We had a great experience. Service was impeccable! Food was perfectly prepared and presented. Overall 100%
Loved the ambience. Food and service were sensational!
Horrible experience. The food was low quality and taste awful
Fabulous from start to finish!
Great ambiance and good food. Great for special occasions, business meetings, date nights, etc.
Amazing experience overall!!!
Amazing service... the wait staff was available at all times but not too pushy. Food was tasty and visually pleasing. Portion size was not too large.
The only thing is the water service... they continually bring water and fill up everyone's glass and keep opening up new bottles...
Service was very sloppy and slow. Waiter did not have much tact whatsoever (reaching over guests with tie in your face, no 'excuse me', poor table maintenance, ignored a guest continuously) and seemed really scattered/frantic at times.
Food was good, but not impressive.
Gorgeous dining room and aesthetics.
I have to say, it's the best restaurant that I have been to in Downtown Toronto...maybe even one of the best in the world. Food was absolutely OUTSTANDING, Service was impeccable, Ambience truly authentic and the Crowd, unpretentious for Yorkville...loved it! Nice work adding the artwork. Sofia's is a real beauty.
Great restaurant great atmosphere great food only think was the noise level was way to high
I had a new dish I had never had before since the menu was changed. My dish was not bad but not to my liking. None the less, I always have a great time there!
