Sopra Sotto Commercial Dr
As is at home, our food is best enjoyed when shared family style, like the typical Italian dinner table.
The food was delicious! Nice experience overall.
Very tasty pizza, made the wait worthwhile!
Enjoyed our meal here. Was seated quickly, service was good and food came out fairly quickly. Loved the porchetta share plate and the pastas. We look forward to returning.
The food here is exceptional, the decor is really well done. This was my second time here and it was even better, would not hesitate to recommend it.
Service was good once we got the attention of our server. It was pretty empty at the time and many staff members had passed us without making any eye contact (even a brief hello/or some kind of acknowledgement would have been nice). Food was pretty good and overall value was fair. Overall we had a great visit. Thank you!
Was a very good first time experience heard so many people talking about it and we finally had the chance to go it was awesome.
Came here to celebrate my sister and brother in law’s birthday. Food and service were excellent. Would definitely come here again.
The meal and service were good, but the hostess was hopeless.
We had a reservation, and even though there were several empty tables available, she kept us waiting for at least 15 minutes trying to decide where to put us. She eventually settled on a table that was empty from the very first minute we walked in. She offered no explanation or apology.
Everything was so delicious!! And service was absolutely fantastic and friendly and perfect!!
This was a wedding lunch and I’m so happy we went with Sopra Sotto for our party’s lunch and it was an amazing part of our special day. Thank you all so much!!!!
Pizza was amazing but was a bit disappointed about the pasta dishes. Although I really enjoyed the truffle pasta!
Incredible food and ambience; possibly our new favourite Italian resto in the city
The pasta was first rate, as was the service. Was a bit too loud for my liking. Would be happy to return, and would recommend to friends
With such a limited menu, one would think that every dish would be made to perfection but this was not the case. The burrata board was subpar. Pizza was ok, not great. The pasta was undercooked and the bolognese sauce was greasy, which is why we didn’t eat it. I expressed this to the waiter and they charged me half price for that particular dish. Any other quality dining establishment would have taken it off the bill. I regret not going to Pepinos or even Marcello’s.
Good food and service and nice room but the noise level all but muted our table. Impossible to hear the waitress and impossible to converse. We couldn't wait to get out of there.....sadly.
My experience at Sopra Sotto for my birthday was absolutely outstanding. The service was impeccable and the food was some of the best Italian I have had yet in Vancouver. They accommodated my group of 20 very well and there were no issues. Thank you to the staff for the hard work, it was one to remember!
Good food. Good service. But WAY too noisy. Couldn’t hear other people at the same table. A big party came in and they were very loud, thoughtless and inconsiderate. Not the restaurant’s fault but we will hesitate returning because the noise left a very unpleasant memory of the meal.
Pleasant atmosphere, very good food. This place was recommended by a friend and we have been not disappointed! Super Italian restaurant in Vancouver!
Great food , service and setting
Would be great if the server can take away empty dishes before entree arrives. He was just standing there with 2 plates of pasta in his hand and looking at us to make room on the table so he can serve the dishes
We came here near closing and we were still treated as if we came at the beginning of dinner. No one tried to rush us - everyone was very welcoming and always smiling. The caesar salad and truffle pasta are amazing! Will come back for sure.
After 10 years in Vancouver have decided it has come the time to eat a pizza in Little Italy.
Great choice to make it a lunch with friends as with school holidays, not crowded.
Pizza was good, service quick, all around a great first impression.
Worth the trip.
Service was good, but food was ordinary. Quite noisy. Didn’t feel like lingering.
First time and we loved it! The room is beautiful and the service and food was excellent. Will return.
This is my second visit. Food is yummy, tiramisu is the best in the industry. Noise level is high, even when the restaurant isn't full, some softer surfaces in the room would help with hearing the music over the noisy guests. :)
Birthday. Always enjoy the place, love the pasta and pizza
Great gnocchi with buratta, wonderful Neapolitan style Diavolo pizza. Attentive server who recognized we were catching up with old friends so did not hurry us to order or at the end of the eve.
Can’t wait to come back! Our server was outstanding! He was knowledgeable about the food and drinks, had a great attitude and generally interested in us having a great experience. Two of us ordered the Gluten Free pizzas and were blown away! We have found our go-to pizza fix! We originally thought they made us the original pizzas and gave it to us by mistake because the crusts were so good. Absolutely delicious! The cocktails were great as well and the burrata was fresh and tasty.
No A/C which most days is fine, but not when it's 28° & sunny. Hostess was a bit of a pill and wasn't at her station when we arrived, we were greeted by one of the wait staff. Bit of a pretentious place, there is better food at friendlier places elsewhere.
The good reviews posted were what drew me to try the restaurant. Having sampled a great variety of dishes on the menu, I was very satisfied and so were my company. From appies, to boards, to pasta, to desserts, I thoroughly enjoyed all of my selections. For the evening, the burrata board, the purple cocktail with pasta straw are at the top of most memorable. I love the openness and brightness of the venue. The staff were friendly and the services were great and reasonable fast considering the restaurant was full. I am definitely returning again very soon. I had a great dinner evening.
Wonderful staff.. Very attentive and kind. Was a little noisy but to be expected at such a desired restaurant. Food was phenomenal! Best Italian I’ve ever had, however a little pricey. Easily spent $140 CND plus tip on dinner for two with drinks and appetizers. We plan on going back very soon!
We hit this on a busy sunny Friday evening but despite the crowds service was friendly and quick. Great plates to share. Pasta and pizzas have interesting twists in terms of ingredients. All in all a very pleasant experience.
Our server was so good, she always knew what we needed and had great advice but was unobtrusive. The decor and energy is fantastic. Food was consistent -- loved the burratta board. Fave thing: skull ice cubes. Least fave thing: a bit too noisy.
Seats are a bit too close together. Restaurant is a bit too bright. Great service and food was good.
First time eating here. Really enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. Good vibe as could be expected for most places on Commercial.
Great little bistro atmosphere. I was on the drive back in the fall and took a chance on this place. Food was excellent so decided to book a smaller group. We had a great time and it's not our usual place. I will definately be going back soon.
Love the food and services
Food was excellent, service awesome,, the only issue we had is the noise, the acoustics is pretty poor
The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. I have some food sensitivities and our server made sure they were passed to the chef. The food was excellent. I had a delicious pizza with a very thin and crunchy crust. The only complaint I would have is the noise level when the restaurant is full. I'm sure this due to the interior design, but it's hard to hear conversations with companions.
