Soulas Modern Greek
My husband & I chose to have several appetizers as a meal & they were all delicious! The couple we were with also enjoyed their meal. The restaurant itself was lovely & the waiter was great!
Great location and ambiance. Enjoyed the food and service - would come back!
We had booked it and then drove a long way to be there. But there was a private party arranged by the owner. So we were asked to leave hungry and find another place. It was very disappointing. I am not sure if it was open table fault or the restaurant's.
We had a delicious meal - awesome Greek food. The yuvetsi was super, tender meat falling off the bone and savory. Αυγολέμονο soup was excellent - almost as good as my mom’s back in the day. Very busy spot and packed. Live entertainment including belly dancer and bouzouki for some authentic Greek feel.
We arrived at 5:45 excited to try this restaurant. We gave our order. Our dinners did not get served before 7 pm. I was so so hungry by then. It did seem people who came after us were served before us.
I won’t go back.
The restaurant did not have our reservation when we arrived and it did not seem they knew we had booked on open table.
I really enjoyed my visit to Soulas Modern Greek. The food and service were eccellent and the ambiance great....loved the chandeliers across the front. I remember when it was Ouzeri back in the day. The grilled calamari were fabulous and the hummus, etc different but good. Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to my friends. Will be back.
Went here for a summerlicious and the food was amazing! The portions were very good and we left full. The inside is very nice and they have live entertainment when we went on a Friday evening. Highly recommend Soulas!
We had a great time. The food was delicious, the ambiance and decor was very warm and welcoming and the service was great.
We have already recommended it to friends who have not been there.
We love this restaurant, and keep coming back with different people, who have all thought it was great. Amazing food, great service, great prices.
We were celebrating Father’s Day. My father ordered the Rhodes shrimp which was just a few pieces of small shrimp on a bed of cheesy Orzo pasta. My father could only eat the few shrimps and left the rest behind - it was terrible! My husband’s Moussaka dish was watery and had too much tomato in it so that it appeared to be undercooked and without a stable form, the “worst Moussaka I ever ate on the Danforth!” he exclaimed.
In the past I had great meals with friends which is why I made a reservation for Father’s Day, hoping that it would be great food. We were appalled at the disastrous lunch and will not return. Was there a different cook working on Sunday??
My wife and son had a great night Saturday night. Food was really good and service was excellent. Make sure you try the floured calamari!
There was a two piece band playing, they were really nice and then a belly dancer showed up to perform also. Great value for the money
Always a great experience
This was our first time in the restaurant and it certainly won’t be the last. The service was excellent, everyone was friendly and welcoming and the food delicious. Our anniversary was acknowledged with a delicious lite dessert which was such a pleasant surprise. The only problem was there was a mixup on our table, someone put 6 people down for our reservation when it was only for the two of us and as a result we ended up with the smallest table in the restaurant. The table was a tad crowded for having a Mezes dinner of appetizers. And the larger table for 4 next to us remained empty the whole time. Other than that it was excellent.
We went there for Mother's day and, as you would expect, the place was packed. The service was great despite that. They had a bit of trouble getting the food out fast but in return they gave us a complimentary dessert. I would go there again.
Such a great authentic restaurant. The portions are huge and great for sharing. The ambience is really lovely, perfect spot for a nice dinner. They had a band on Saturday night. The staff is very attentive and sweet. The food is consistently good, probably one of the best Greek restaurants in the city
Enjoyed our night at Soulas. The food was wonderful and we loved the festive and warm ambience. Service was very friendly and we will be back.
Best Greek food in the city for a good price. Service is excellent and the owners are very friendly and welcoming.
We had a wonderful time, would recommend to friends and family. Hosts were wonderful.
Service was fantastic. Highly recommend
Nice Greek restaurant with great ambience, including live music on weekends.
Amazing service. Great food. Can’t wait to return.
Great restaurant. Good food, good atmosphere. It’s a great family place. Definitely recommend.
Wrong appetizers brought to table.
Waited a long time for main dishes.
Calamari was tasteless and like chewing rubber.
Musicians were way too loud.
My party of six could not hear each each speak.
Will not be returning.
Amazing food, great atmosphere! Perfect spot for a date or a fun night with friends.
We had a great evening. Started kind of iffy as our waiter forgot that we had ordered cocktails, so we were left waiting for some time and had to reorder. Then it took awhile for us to flag him down to order our appetizers/entrees. However, once things started to roll, the food was great. Will not order the Kir Royale again...too much kir not enough royale. The food was fantastic once it started to arrive!!! Amazing dips and pita! Got a scrummy desert to share which was completely unexpected as we had mentioned we were there to celebrate a birthday. The owner kept popping by the table to check on us which was wonderful. The food was fab! The downside was the sound level...very noisy and therefore difficult to have conversation. However, having said all that, we would definitely go again to check out something else on the menu.
We went early (5:30pm-ish) on a Saturday to get a quieter experience as there were some diners in our group with well aged hearing. We all had a wonderful meal and enjoyed everything (with a few taking delicious leftovers away). Around 7ish things started getting busy so the noise level went up a bit, but it wasn’t awful. Not sure what volume the live music would’ve been, but bear in mind that’s a factor on weekends too. The only real hiccup for us was with our OpenTable booking not being found when we arrived. It was a same day booking, so maybe there was a mixup in the systems somewhere, but we were lucky they had room when we arrived. I don’t blame the restaurant for that aspect, but perhaps a warning about bookings needing confirmation or the like would be a good addition. I will definitely be going back again.
First time here and wanted to try something new on Danforth, definitely recommend as place is very comfortable/modern. Food was good and better than the average Greek food available in the area.
