The pasta I got was old and sticking together and hard. When I asked for a new dish I expected a discount but didn’t get one. The bread that came out was not fully cooked and really doughy. My server was really nice she did give us a free desert but the manager didn’t offer anything which I thought was crazy since the last was terrible.

We dined at South City / Avalon Sat PM before Mother’s Day and South City PM last night for a birthday. Food is similar at both locations, but service at Avalon is 5-Star We enjoy Buckhead as it’s closer/more convenient and has the black pepper BBQ shrimp ; Shrimp are large and tasty - but $25 for 6 in a bath with stale toast is not a ‘value’. Thank goodness for the chicken livers. Oh and bring back the fried catfish sandwiches….not like catfish is tough to find or that expensive to have on your menu - no matter the season.

Went to the Mothers Day Brunch and it was a prefixed menu with a fixed price. I don’t feel the rate matched what we received. I feel we would have had bigger portions ordering off the menu without the special. Almost didn’t receive “dessert” because they started to pack up and start shutting down the restaurant. Dessert was small cookies which is disappointing. Waiter brought them to us and explained they were semi frozen since they assumed everyone was done eating and it was time to shut down. Cookies were tiny. Surprising for a nice restaurant. In future, I won’t participate in fixed menus/rates. Overall, the staff was awesome, very nice and pleasant.

Mother’s Day 2022 was amazing because of our wonderful experience at South City Kitchen! Our server was super sweet and attentive and the food was delicious! I can’t remember our servers name but she had very short blonde hair and dope colorful nails, she was super on point, highly recommend 10/10! We had the fried green tomatoes (5/5 YUM), charcuterie plate (3/5), crab soup (5/5), chicken livers (big portion, 4/5), pimento cheese 5/5, fried chicken 5/5, king biscuit 4/5, & crab cakes (delicious but I didn’t try them). The ambiance was great and we can’t wait to go back! Thank you, South City Kitchen Buckhead & thank you to my awesome boyfriend for taking care of all the ladies on this special unforgettable day!

Food, price ambiance great. Server was a bit lacking with our table. Brought over a hot bottle of white wine and when we asked to chill it, wanted to explain what the chilling temperature should be and then tell us he switched out the bottle and gave us a new one that happened to be open and the same amount of wine was missing from the old bottle. So many wrongs, on so many levels.

I ate here for my birthday. I received amazing service from a kind and generous staff. The food was amazing and I can't even begin to describe how delicious their 30-year-old traditional southern fried chicken was to taste. It was memorable and i will definitely frequent here.
