   We had a fabulous dinner at Southern on the porch, which is much quieter than indoor seating. I had the pork chop with mashed sweet potatoes. Yum! There was an issue with the crab dip taking 30 minutes to get to the table. I thought it was so nice of the manager to stop by our table and ask how everything was UNTIL HE SAID HE HAD A RESERVATION FOR OUR TABLE, HINTING WE NEEDED TO LEAVE. I expect to have a two hour dinner for the prices of this restaurant, plus the appetizer was 30 minutes late. GRRh 🤨

   Such an amazing experience! The best customer service! The filet is to die for and I’ve never had anything that was not delicious! Don’t miss this!

   Fabulous meal. Great filet mignon cooked perfectly. Sides imaginatively prepared, plated a served. The mashed sweet potatoes are one of my many favorites. Nothing but good service with focus on the customer. We dined on the porch which was quite noisy because it has not been opened to the outdoors yet. Owner is aware and working resolution. To be fair there were several very noisy tables . Great time despite this.

   Had a delicious meal prepared to perfection and our server, Cameron,provided excellent service. Drinks were on point. But, save room for the yummy skillet cookie with homemade ice cream for dessert. You won’t be disappointed.

   We had great meal and service. We brought 2 from Raleigh and both have a gluten and dairy issue. We had informed the chef before we arrived and then told our waitress. The care was outstanding for their needs. All said it was a wonderful dining evening due to outstanding care and service

   Great service, outstanding food with creativity and impeccable attention to detail. All in an inspiring setting. What a gem in the heart of downtown Southport! Prices are high, but for a special occasion, nothing compares. If you get the chance, make sure you try the sweet potato butter!

   We wanted to impress our friends who were visiting from NJ so we made reservations at Southern. We were a party of 6 and were able to get reservations for a Friday evening. We were very graciously greeted at the door. As soon as we were seated our waiter came right over to ask for our drink orders and explained the menus to us. We ordered our meals which consisted of pork chops, scallops, duck, and 3 orders of the special which was tile fish. Our dinners came out in a timely fashion and all were absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend Southern for a beautiful dining experience.
