Disappointed in how little flavor the food had (butternut squash soup, signature fried chicken, mashed potatoes) except for the Brussels sprouts. Service excellent, love the chandeliers!

Was disappointed in the food. Our server was terrific. Great drink. Great fried green tomatoes but my fried chicken entree was mediocre. The cauliflower grits were intensely oversalted, the chicken was just ok, The brussel sprouts a bit too sweet.

Not as good as I had hoped.

We had a very enjoyable time. Food was excellent as was the service. Innovative twists on southern dishes. All beautifully presented by a very attentive and professional staff. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun night out.

We dined there three times in two days. The service was exceptional. The fried chicken is excellent as were the burgers. Do NOT order the steak. It was very salty, the fingerling potatoes were barely recognizable and the sauce and mushrooms were overly heavy and entirely too salty. The steak was cooked perfectly but was overpowered by the sauce.

This was our second time here and once again it did not disappoint! Our server Chris was wonderful, very nice and funny. The food was delicious. My husband had the short ribs and wanted to lick his plate, the sauce was amazing!! I had the fried chicken which was of course perfect as it’s Art Smith’s! But I was also in love with the glazed and candies kalettes. Can’t wait to go back again!!!

Dependably good food with excellent service. Feels a lot like a typical hotel restaurant and not terribly upscale. That said, preparation and selections are very good.

This is the second time in three weeks we have been in Buckhead from out of state and had dinner at Southern Art. The food is incredible but the service is terrible. Both times some people get there food and some might wait 5-10 minutes. The drinks from the bar are very slow. They really need to change there service.

Birthday dinner with friends. Seating was slow, outdoor option on next door and via call was not really available, food was expensive for meal, and ambiance / service was average for price. Wanted to try based on rating and location, but not in same range as other better options. Was super bowl weekend, but restaurant should have been prepared.

The menu that was posted on Open Table was not available with only an "enhanced" breakfast buffet for $38 per person which was excessive. They were definitely taking advantage of Super Bowl visitors. The fried chicken was taunted as being special. I would suggest the chef go to Mary Mac's for delicious fried chicken. The grits were so thick, they could have been cut with a knife. The shrimp and grits had so much grease on the top, they were not appetizing at all. No biscuits were available. The pastries were lackluster. They were run of the mill that would be served at any hotel. The service was disappointing and not attentive at all. I could understand if the restaurant was busy, but more tables were empty than filled. For $38 plus an undeserved tip, I would expect something special. I'm still trying to determine what was "enhanced" on the buffet! This is the second time I've had breakfast at Southern Art, but it will be the last.

I had a wonderful experience at Southern Art. I ordered the Harvest Salad with Grilled Salmon. I was skeptical about the salad but the waitress highly recommended it. Well, it surprisingly delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Excellent choice.

We were traveling from Missouri for our annual trip to the Atanta Americasmart and so happy to have found Southern Art. The food was what we were after: creative Southern flair from a celebrity chef.
Most importantly, however, our waiter Chris made the evening perfect! So professional, friendly, and played along with our desire to point out an error on the cocktail menu. Two drinks with different names had the same ingredients listed. They both appeared to be some type of Old Fashioned. "What is the difference between these two drinks?" I asked. Chris said he didn't know, because when he had asked the same question of the bar manager awhile ago, he didn't receive an answer. Okay. Let's do an experiment. I ordered both drinks, and one was clearly not made with the ingredients listed. (Came with rye and lime and crushed ice.) Chris kindly agreed to my request to send it back, and then returned to our table with a happy grin on his face. The menu had a typo, and no one besides Chris had noticed it. "You made my night! Thanks so much!" he said. Since the error was pointed out by a customer, the bartender and manager were now paying attention to him! Problem solved, drink made properly, and the rest of our meal was served and enjoyed with lots of cheer. We will be back, and request Chris for sure!

Note: this is a hotel restaurant who doesn't serve Brunch on Saturday. It was highly rated but the food was only ok and very expensive for Atlanta for breakfast. Coffee was great. Much better places for breakfast or brunch in Atlanta.

We were on a girls’ trip with our mother and chose this restaurant because it was close to our hotel. The service was outstanding! Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. The salad with pomegranates and bleu cheese was incredible as were the roasted Brussels sprouts. The cocktails were also great but a little pricey. We would certainly visit again!

What went well: Valet parking was a breeze. Customer Service was outstanding. Charcuterie was good. Fried chicken was great (large portion enough for 2 to share). Bourbon selection was pleasing (if you would like to do tasting, make sure you ask for the bourbon flight menu)

Even Betters: Decor was not as chic as expected. Not ideal for a private, romantic outing due the seating arrangements (they do have 2 mini tables for 2 that are separate from the other seating). I requested a booth in my reservation, which they dont have, but the mini table would have been better than where they put us. The charcuterie was a little overpriced considering how small it was. My short ribs arrived luke warm instead of hot. I mentioned I was celebrating a birthday in my reservation and there was no free dessert, song, or any mention of it. I would return, but sit at the bar instead of the main dining area.
