My bf and I wanted to check out the games and have some friendly competition and a friend recommended Southland Yard. Amazing selection of beers and other drinks, food was good and lots of free games to play. Pool, bocce ball, and foosball BLTs and pinball machines. All free of charge to play. This place missed the mark.... Huge I went for the Christmas dinner, I was underwhelmed to say the very least. I was served the wrong wine, the cup was dirty, the food was presented nicely and tasted fine... but overall, I was greatly disappointed in the experience overall. I will say they took the wine and my dates drink off the bill. But a meal that cost $180+ dollars, I did expect more than dining in the middle of a hotel lobby with minimal decor. Also, the waiting staff was disorganized, and the bar was lacking.

As we arrived we ran into friends who had been at an earlier settings and they were raving about the food. Our experience was the same. Flavors so good and done to perfection. My wife enjoyed the wine pairing and commented on the taste and the matching as being excellent. Service staff attentive and knowledgeable. We look forward to other visits and certainly Christmas next year.

Your service destroyed what should have been a wonderful Christmas dinner for us. We were ignored. For the enitire evening we were ignored. NO ONE CAME TO OUR TABLE TO SERVICE US. After waiting 20 min or so we called someone who was walking by and asked him for water. he cleared off the other place settings and took my water glass. Several minutes went by, he brought the water, with no glass, but he did go back and get one and left. We called someone else over to ask for dinks. 15 minutes later, we asked someone else for some buns. 10 minutes later he brought us buns. But no side plates. So, we called someone passing by asked for some. When he came back, we asked if we could order dinner. He looked around and told us he was not our waiter but he would take it anyway. After another 10 minutes or so, someone came to our table and asked if he could explain the menu choices to us. We told him we had already ordered, he left, and we never saw him again. Once the food was ordered, the wait times were typical of fine dining and the food was delicious. On the basis of the food alone, I would happlily recommend the restaurant to friends, but not on the basis of service.

Service was some of the worst I've ever experienced unfortunately. When the dinner was held in the Atrium before covid it was great, but I will not be repeating this. I realize finding staff is not easy these days, but it was as if some of them had never done this type of work before. Also, there is better value for the meal elsewhere.

We went for the Christmas Day Dinner. It was our first time at Southland Yard and we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious our meal was. Each course was very tasty. The first 2 courses were slightly smaller than expected, but very good. My only critique would be with the duck course. There were 2 potato sides that accompanied it along with the brussel sprouts (delicious) and I personally felt it was too much potato. I would have preferred another vegetable. The staff was very friendly and the service was good. Overall a great experience for our first visit.

Southland Yard has a nice ambiance. We went for a late afternoon lunch. We found the music to be a little loud. Our server was great. The food was ok. Two of us had the chicken sandwich. The chicken was very good but the bun was dry and way too much of it and the fries were ok. The beef dip was good but very very sloppy. We also had a caesar and it was very good.

Jane was fantastic, she paid just enough attention to us without neigh overly pushy. The food was good, however the kitchen made a mistake on my sons order (no pickles) but to correct it, it seems they simply removed the pickles….which doesn’t get rid of the pickle taste! If they didn’t want to remake, it might have been worthwhile to remove all of the sauce and refresh it!

I was pretty impressed with southland yard. I booked a table for 12 for my husbands birthday and everyone seemed to have a good time. At first I wasn’t impressed with our table as it was three tiny bar tables pushed together; however, it ended up working really well as we were right by the pool table, bocci ball, and VLT room. Our service was excellent and our waitress was able to keep up with our group despite the fact that people were getting up to do activities and switching seats all night and had guests coming and going. The games were quite entertaining and provided lots of fun for the evening. Food was good (although the pizza didn’t look great) and drinks were reasonably priced.

Booked a team lunch at Southland Yard as I thought I'd try a different kind of place than just one that only serves food. The layout is very good, with views of TVs from every angle. It wasn't overly busy, so we had access to all the games (pool, darts, bocce ball, shuffleboard, etc), which was very cool. Unfortunately, we came across a disorganized kitchen/server as one of my co-workers was served a beef burger instead of a veggie burger. This led to another co-worker who had ordered the burger having to wait 10 minutes longer than the rest of us to get her food. Two others had the turkey club and found it a little dry. My manager and I had the fish & chips and they were very good and priced well as they were the special ($11.99). If not for this mix up, this experience would've been much improved. I think it's worth another try, but these mix ups when there were only three other tables on the go leaves me concerned.

This is a restaurant/pub in our neighbourhood that is a great spot for good food and drinks. The staff are friendly and efficient. A couple of additional things I like is they have an excellent shuffleboard and pinball machine. They also have VLT’s that I haven’t checked out. They may have other things as well. Our group was having a reunion of sorts so we were there to eat, have a drink and visit so weren’t free to explore more fully.

We just love to go see our favorite service staff and enjoy a few drinks and a few nibblies too. Nicole is always outstanding and amazing. Tonight is going to be a special evening as we say goodbye to one of you fabulous bartenders. We will miss Patrick dearly as we enjoy his personality and humor.
