    Dirty bathroom with broken faucet that wets the floor. Seating area floors and tables were dirty with left over food from others. Waiter was not friendly and the food was McDonald’s quality. For the price you’re better off going into a much better restaurant in the city. Get it together SouthSide Tavern

    Was seated at a table furthest from the bar to the left as you enter. The bar is so loud you can't have a conversation at your table without raising your voice. Makes it hard to enjoy your meal. Service and food were very good, I did find it strange they took the extra side plates off the table after I had already been touching them and placed them right back on top of the clean plates at the podium I found that a bit off-putting.

    The server was very inexperienced and we sat at the back despite requesting the window seats. The host said the window seats were for parties of 6(we were party of 5) yet none of the tables were used while we were there from 5-645.

    Great menu selection. Staff was friendly, efficient and attentive. Party of 7 before a school performance at Thayer, it was hopping, but everything moved along and would definitely go back.

    Had the steak tips, and they were excellent. You get to choose 2 sides to go with it. I had the grilled asparagus and the steamed broccoli. The broccoli was so buttery, and the garlic wasn't overpowering. The staff was nice and helpful.

    I felt like we were rushed through our meal. 2 of us got chicken scampi and the chicken was over cooked and tough. I also wanted a glass of reisling but they didn’t have it. We asked the waitress to split the bill and she messed that up. I use a cane and when we were leaving there were so many people hanging at the door that I had a hard time getting by. We won’t be going there again.

    Saturday nights are the nights for my wife, daughter and I to eat out. Last Saturday night was our first outing to the Tavern. The food was excellent, as was the service. The only problem we had with the evening, was the noise level. It was difficult to even hear ourselves think, and we had to lean across the table to speak to each other. If it had not been for that, we would have given the Tavern an excellent rating accross the board. We will be back on a different evening to see if it is any better.

    Great family atmosphere. Friendly, attentive staff, fast efficient serviceand really great food. The Mac & Cheese was the best I've tasted since my late mother's. We were there with 2 disabled people--it couldn't have gone better. So pleased--we'll be back, for sure!

    This is usually a great restaurant but they didn’t have a table reserved despite leaving their reservation system open and confirming. It was a holiday and I get that but most tables were taken up by people who were not eating, or even really drinking. One table just had water and a soda! I made a reservation because it was for a birthday dinner. They shoved us on my friends birthday into a makeshift table next to the kitchen doors and directly in front of a band speaker because the host said “the forgot”. We told them we would wait for an opening and they said no others are in a waitlist..despite the fact we made the reservation online with Southside they were not accommodating or apologetic. We were walked into by staff countless times and it was not a good experience there for a birthday meal by any means. Think twice before using open table to reserve at Southside they don’t care to honor the reservation and will prioritize walk in waitlist over you. I hope no one ever gets shoved into a horrible makeshift table in front of doors with no apology at this establishment again.
