This is my wife’s favorite restaurant in Buford. Always great for a date night. Food is superb!!!
Service was excellent. Food & wine was superb. They gave my wife & I a very nice evening. Pianist was very good.
My wife and I dined here for our wedding anniversary.
We both love this restaurant for the food, service and ambience.
The staff and chef are very accommodating if you have dietary restrictions.
The quality of food is excellent and presentation first class.
A sign of a great restaurant is hot food on hot plates - that is what you get here !!!!
I highly recommend this restaurant.
Never disappoints; always amazing food and great service.
Our server was absolutely phenomenal. oscar is very personable and provided excellent service. This was my second visit and I will return. the food was delicious. I'd recommend the lamb
We are never disappointed at Sperata. The food is excellent and well presented. So nice to find a restaurant with an imaginative menu and a pleasant atmosphere.
Sperata is the perfect fine dining experience for a romantic night, special occasion or just pure Epicurean pleasure. The atmosphere is quiet and inviting. You may choose the 5 course meal option or a la carte options. From unique gourmet salads to the best steak and mussels I've ever experienced to the creme brulee and toffee bread pudding a la mode...truly a sensory delight...service is first rate and ensures the perfect dining experience. Compliments to the chef and staff. Sperata will always be a special place for us to slow down, escape and gaze across the table on anniversaries, Valentine's and enjoy a glass of wine and delicious food together.
We recently moved to Buford so this was our first time here but definitely not our last!
Couldn't have asked for a greater anniversary dinner. The "Steak Diane" was the best I ever had. Great service. We will be back.
We actually ended up with another couple that was also eating their and the staff was very good about changing our table from 2 to 4. The food was excellent, but a little pricey. We enjoyed the piano player and the music was soft enough that we could very easily carry on a conversation. I would recommend Sperata's especially for a special occasion.
Great food! Piano a little loud but overall fantastic!
Food and service is always the best. Piano was a bit loud where we sat at the window.
Our meals were all(4) prepared to perfection and served at a nice warm temp without being overcooked(salmon and steak). Onion tart and fried green tomatoes(not too bready or greasy) and salads were all delicious. The bread pudding was amazing! We'll be back! Thanks Paul for great service-memorable meal all the way around!
The restaurant was crowded, so they’re obviously doing things well. I thought our server, Oliver was very good. He was sensitive to our conversation with the couple we were dining with. We had a very nice table in the front window, however, we were next to the piano which made it somewhat noisy. The menu is rather limited, but my Caprese Salad, Lamb Chops and Cheesecake were all delicious. The kitchen totally screwed up my wife’s order and there was no offer to correct it. Because of a recent doctor’s visit, my wife specifically requested her Salmon be simple grilled with light olive oil, no sauce and no potatoes. Somehow, the kitchen either didn’t get the instructions, or inadvertently overlooked them. I’m not sure my wife would have wanted a re-cook (had it been offered), because her meal would have been meaningfully delayed and she was very hungry. Nevertheless, the very least the restaurant should have done was offer a complimentary dessert, if they did not want to comp the meal. We would probably go there again, but wish they offered a slightly more extensive menu... particularly more non-red meat offerings.
Very enjoyable dinning. I took my wife for our anniversary and everything was great! We will be going back this time during the weekend when the pianist will be playing.
Oliver was a terrific server... very knowledgeable and attentive.
Clayton provided wonderful service, every aspect of our meal was delicious, and the ambiance and location were perfect for a much-needed date night. Live piano and a glass of great wine made our night!
Classy and comfortable. Excellent food. Wonderful service. we will be back
Our waiter was outstanding. The chef did a wonderful job of making this a good experience for our group of six. We made another reservation for the following week.
Ambiance was very nice and our waiter was particularly informative and helpful. The pianist was on vacation so that was a little disappointing as we had mentioned this to our friends prior to bringing them to the restaurant. We did feel that the entrees were extremely pricey even though the portions were large. I would not recommend the paella as it is prepared very different than the traditional Cuban style. Our guest ordered this entrée and did not care for it. The rest of the entrees were very good and the Sticky pudding was exceptional.
Lovely dinner. The organic chicken was the best I have ever had anywhere, and the arugala & goat cheese salad with the pears and beets is wonderful. Creme brulee was perfection. Service was elegant and charming. Love this place!
Always an awesome experience. Great local place to get a star meal.
Sperata is our favorite restaurant. We go there to celebrate all our special occasions. The food, the service and ambiance is always *!
We have been there numerous times and are never disappointed with the food or the service.
This is a nice looking restaurant and the staff are friendly and helpful. If you can get your meal cooked the way you like it, the food is good. So, for example, I ordered the tenderloin, medium-well. It came medium-rare. After sending it back, it came out a little while later, medium (not medium-well). They later took off the price of our salads to compensate for their error. They forgot to bring our appetizer, but when it did come, it was very good. I was hoping to get a nice beer with my dinner, but the waiter informed me it is a wine and liquor restaurant, not beer. It's not like I was trying to get some cheap beer. Haven't run into this kind of alcohol type prejudice before, and have dined at many fine restaurants. My wife had salmon with shrimp. She said it was good, except that the shrimp were undercooked (she brought them home and cooked them a little at home). Although the restaurant was not busy, service was also slow. If you are easygoing, patient, persistent, and drink liquor or wine, you can have a good experience. Otherwise, I recommend going somewhere else.
We had a wonderful meal at Sperata. The food and service were excellent
Very nice ambiance for a romantic evening. I really enjoy the piano player. Adds to the atmosphere. Good date night place.
A Friday night and all was very good. The Monk fish and salmon were excellent.
Upscale dining at its best. The food is magnificent. The service is 5-Star. The menu is different and after you figure it out - you'll see that it's design is very creative. The ambiance is perfect (Lighting, music and even the live piano player was decent). If i had to make a request for anything, it would be for local wineries added to their wine list and the whiskey selection would be of higher caliber (Macallan 18, Glenlivet 18 or 21, Whistle Pig Rye, etc)
We will not be going back for Mother's day dinner again.
Staff was exhausted and menu items were out.
Great fixed menu for Mother's Day! Absolutely wonderful!
Delicious food and wonderful service!
Wonderful meal and service. Oliver, our waiter, worked with chef to provide a simple grilled chicken and pasta dish for my 7 yr old niece. Something not on the menu. This is our favorite place to go for a special meal.
Fabulous food & service as always
Excellent food and service. We loved the piano playing while we enjoyed an evening out without our children. The best crab cake I’ve ever tasted. It’s definitely a pricey restaurant but it’s worth it for a special night out.
We hadn’t been there in a while and were pleasantly surprised how get the food was.
We continue to have great evenings out when dining at Sperata. We brought our neighbors this time and they loved it too.
For the price I was more than disappointed. The only thing exciting or interesting at all about this restaurant was The pianist. He was remarkable as far as the food it was bland and the service was not very good at all. the main thing I remember about that night was the woman who is supposed to greet you at the door. She had an attitude and very snooty
Perfect setting for our 5th anniversary celebration.
Overall our evening was a nice experience. There was some weird shuffling of service between our waiter and the hostess, but that can be excused. Our waiter seemed stretched a bit thin. Each waiter is expected to mix his diners' cocktails and this seemed to take them away from providing timely service. A few times we had to wait quite a bit of time for water, next course, check, etc. We were promised bread in "4 to 5 minutes". However after about 5 minutes our appetizer came out (mussels in a cream sauce) and the bread didn't come. We had to request it. When it did come several minutes later, it was dry, cold, tasteless, and stale (two rolls). We then requested additional toast points instead (for the mussels sauce) and you would have thought we asked for an act of Congress. It was apparently quite scandalous. We were admonished by our waiter (jokingly) and then the hostess came over and held court on the tradition in her native Germany of using bread to soak up sauce. Rather humorous. Otherwise food was standard fare but well prepared (as expected); however, everything was way overpriced. Our final bill was just over $150! Not including tip. -- One appetizer, one salad, one soup, two entrees, one dessert, two cups of coffee, three glasses of avg. wine. -- You do the math. We will not be back.
