Our waitress was a nightmare! We waited for over an hour for food, late in the evening. We arrived at 6:55 and it was 8:25 when we got our food. The people in the next booth were seated 10 mins after us and got their food 30 minutes before us. Then the food was subpar for the price. There was barely any sauce on my pasta and the pasta was mushy. And again, the waitress was snotty and rude! Down right snippy. She seemed mad that we didn’t order alcoholic drinks? It was not a good experience at all!! I will not be back!!

I booked a 7:00 PM Sunday reservation through OpenTable. When I arrived with my wife at 6:55 PM the hostess informed me that my table had been given to the local Monsignor. Since we were in no hurry, I was fine with that. The restaurant staff accommodated us with another table within a few minutes. I had the grilled salmon entree salad and my wife had bowtie pasta. Both were very tasty!

Took two hours to complete our meal, service was not the waiters fault. Had sirloin and shrimp, the sirloin was maybe 3 oz with 5 shrimp. The salad barely had any dressing and the baked potatoe wasn't done. They charged $38 for that with our bill over $100.

Valentine’s Day dinner. Server Kansas was the epitome of superior service. Drinks always full and food served hot and quickly. Spezia has a great selection of Italian dishes, but we both went with filets on this night. The steak was cooked perfectly. We ended with the lemon cake - a favorite.

This was my first time trying GF pasta at Spezia and I will order it again and was pleased to learn they have GF flatbread/pizza crust too. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Server was helpful checking GF options and offering substitutes. Delicious food and comfortable atmosphere for a nice evening out. I like the booths which make it easier to talk to people at your table and help control the noise.

We love this restaurant, but certain things seem to be slipping.... Our $8.99 salads were pretty "wimpy" and not very fresh. Our sausage and pepper pizza had lots of peppers and very little sausage. And our server made lots of excuses for the "slow kitchen", but was, herself, rather distant and unattentive.

The Tuscan Burger was marginal at best. The mushroom sauce was cold and congealed and the burger was quite small. The chicken was dry and tough.

Returned to Spezia after many years. I was underwhelmed with the organization of seating when we arrived. The hostess did not make effort to make eye contact, meet and great patrons and would often disappear from her station despite many people waiting to place their name on a list for a table. We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation time with no explanation nor apology for the delay. Once seated, our server was attentive (although did forget to bring us the appetizer we ordered). Dinner was delicious but I would have liked to see more meatless options.

Food is always wonderful..I don't care for pasta so I appreciate and love their fish dishes and beet salad. My husband loves Italian food and this is his favorite restaurant. Wait staff are efficient and fun.

Disappointing....was placed next to large group (table of 12+ and there were many open options at time of reservation) so noisy and only 1 server for section. Will stick to lunch at this restaurant as I’ve always had good experience.

A friend treated me to birthday lunch here. We've been here before and it's always very good. Had reserved a booth and it was ready when we arrived with a candle on the table already lit! Comfy, cozy spot and the service is great! My friend had a grilled salmon salad and I had a gourmet burger, both were delicious! Also really enjoyed the complimentary slice of chocolate birthday cake and scoop of vanilla ice cream!

We had early reservations that I made through open table, the hostess was irritated that we had children and they were not designated on the reservation. Service was slow and it took along time to get our food and one of the children's order had been forgotten so he had to wait longer for his food. The food was good but not outstanding.

The food was tasty, but we felt like it had been left under warming lamps for a while. Our waiter just really wasn’t around very much. It took quite a while to get our drinks and then we had to catch him to order our appetizers, and then we had to catch him to order our meal, and then we had to catch him for a second glass of wine. He didn’t make the effort to check on us I guess.After being in the restaurant for two hours, we were ready to pay our bill and we couldn’t find him. We finally asked one of the other waitresses to take our payment. Overall our experience was OK – next time we are in Sioux Falls we will probably look for a different interesting place to eat.

I have never had a poor experience at Spezia and I do not live in Sioux Falls anymore so whenever I come back into town my family always does Sunday brunch there. Unfortunately we will never do this again. I had zero issue with the food, but our waitress is what made our experience just really uncomfortable. It started when I went to the bathroom while our table was being set up and I walked past her getting the table ready and heard her complaining that her next table had two little kids and how annoying that was going to be. I can totally understand how kids can be difficult, but maybe wait until you know what the kids at the table are going to be like before you complain and also maybe consider doing it some other place then out on the restaurant floor where anyone can hear you. After we were seated for about 10 min she came to our table and let us know we could go and get our food and took our drink orders and after she dropped off our waters and coffees she never came back to check on us. After about 45 min of waiting for her to come check on us my sister ended having to walk around to restaurant to find her to ask if we could have more water and coffee. When she came to our table she very openly rolled her eyes multiple times and made loud noises that shows her annoyance with us. while pouring more coffee into my sister’s cup she overpowered and spilled hot coffee all over my sisters hand which burned her and her only response was “oops” and walked away. Again she never came back at all until she brought the bills about 30 min later and we ended up just walking over and finding a pitcher of water and filling our own glasses. It makes me really sad to have had this experience here because we have never had a poor experience here and I have always loved coming here but after this I don’t think we will come back again for a Sunday brunch and I just wanted to let the management at Spezia know what happened as it casts a poor light on the restaurant.

Slow service in general, forgot to put in our appetizer, lam sirloin ordered medium rare came out raw, sirloin medium well came out medium rare. Forgot to put in our bud light. Never asked if we wanted refills. Requested a wine candle for birthday and had to ask if they still do them. Poor service, forgotten and poorly cooked food.

Unimpressed. Our daughter requested Spezia for her 16th birthday celebration, so we made a reservation. We arrived and were seated within five minutes of our arrival, our server arrived promptly and took drink and appetizer orders - he returned shortly after to take our meal orders. He made a suggestion to one member of our party to switch out the bun on his burger, but when the burger arrived it was on the gluten free bun that he told us was not good - not to mention that the burger was smaller than the average burger you would get at McDonalds. Another member of our party ordered their pasta dish without tomatoes and onions - after waiting over an hour for our main dish he brought it out with tomatoes and onions in it - while he did offer to take it back, we were in no mood to wait for another dish to be prepared - needless to say it went mostly uneaten, yet we were still charged full price for it. Our meals were mediocre at best - $150 later, we will not be back to Spezia...

Very consistent with food and service, which they had a full bar. Who really needs all the wine selection, cut in half and add other spirits. There are times I go elsewhere because of that.

My experience was just OK. Even though we had a reservation, we still had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. It then took another 10 minutes to get water. 15 minutes after that we were finally able to order. Food quality was good, although the prices were a bit high in my opinion.

We waited at our table for a good 10-15 minutes without being helped. When we finally met our server and ordered our drinks (just water) it took her another 10 minutes to get them to us. Granted she was busy with a larger table. When we finally got our food, the steak in my steak salad was cold. Very loud environment and the food was not worth the price.
