   Lovely place to sit and have brunch. It’s right outside bath abbey so the view is fab. Very very busy with tourists. The restaurant was packed. Sitting under the canopy, it did get very hot and stuffy. The food was nice. I had egg florentine. I asked if the eggs were free range which seemed to confuse the waiters! Two of them didn’t seem to understand what free range was..

   It's a piano so loud inside. We sat outside which was lovely. Waiter was very friendly and attentive but not too much. The foix was very good and quick service.

   absolutely fabulous establishment we came in january for our honeymoon and now back again may for wife’s birthday and came back to the restaurant. staff our absolutely brilliant food and drinks are spot on. will definitely be back again when we come to bath next.

   Made a booking in advance, they didn’t take my name, just took me to a table. On the menu lack of understanding about dairy allergy staff unable to know what was in food when asked and had to go to the kitchen on note then one occasion, appeared to be waiting staff friend arrived and stood around them more then dealing with customers, heard waiting staff talking about my allergy felt very uncomfortable after this point.

    We came to celebrate my birthday.The staff made us very welcome.The menu was great.My lamb chops were delicious as was my husbands steak ( the best he has had in a while) . Then we had wonderful puddings crembrulle for me and apple pie for him. All washed down by a bottle of rosé wine. A good way to celebrate my birthday

    Party of 6 placed right next to rear entrance door, freezing every time door opened. Asked to be moved but fully booked. Took over 30 min to be offered any drinks or menus. Food took a very long time to come. The biggest problem was the noise level, we could not talk to our each other,, had to shout all night. Very disappointing.

    Impromptu trip away to Bath at the weekend so hadn't planned anything prior but found Square Grill and it was amazing! Live piano n music for great ambience n talking point. Super friendly service from our waitress and any of the other team bringing items over to our table. Food delicious, and such huge portions that really was great value for money!     The Square Bar Grill Restaurant is a perfect place for a date night. Very affordable food and drinks, especially if you opt for the set menu and take advantage of their weekday 2for1 cocktail deal. The food is brilliant: very tasty - I had the gnocchi from the set menu and really loved it. The dessert was also good but the brownie could've been a bit bigger. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. The music could've been a bit louder for the ambience. The restaurant is in a very nice location - just opposite the Baths and Abbey. It was very nice to leave the restaurant and see the abbey lit up. There isn't really much The Square can improve on - we had a really lovely night there!

    Unfortunate altercation between the musicians and management which was both obvious and awkward. Service was ok but prices high. Food was fairly average really. Altogether a slightly disappointing evening for the reasons given.

    I have to say that having been really excited and booking in advance for our trip to Bath, I was left very disappointed. The food was really good but the promise of a live pianist playing whilst we enjoyed our evening did not happen. Coupled with that we were not sat in the main part of the restaurant but somewhere round the back of the building out of the way. It was for my husband's birthday and we love jazz and live music. Instead there was no atmosphere at all and we were in and out really quickly. Such a shame as I had bigged it up and it didn't live up to the expectations.

    We sat down and within 40 mins we went through 3 courses, prawn table tasters consisted of 3 small battered butterfly prawns all in all waiters/ess were good mannered and attentive but service was rushed and no one acknowledged our departure. We did visit on a bank holiday weekend but expected better.

    We went there with my husband to celebrate his new job and I added a note saying could you please arrange a small cake for the celebration. They were so helpful, Kind and considerate. I would definitely recommended this beautiful restaurant !!!

    Attended after a spa day with my friend. Food and drinks were lovely. I've never had such a nice virgin cocktail! Staff were very nice and attentive. The decor was lovely and it felt a lot more formal than I was expecting. There were however a few down points that outweighed our overall experience. When we arrived, we said we had a booking but they didn't take my name and just told us to choose where to sit. My friend ordered a roast dinner and was told there was no roast dinners available, only to witness one come out half an hour later which was quite disappointing. I don't know whether we chose the wrong seat table to sit but we were close to the till and witnessed management talk down to their staff and it was quite uncomfortable to be around.

    From the photos & on arrival the place is smart, staff are welcoming. We got served drinks & a sharing starter; then proceeded to wait 1hr 15mins while everyone around us was served mains (both tables either side arrived after we did) after 3 prompts & a final, we need to leave soon got us our mains. I think they lost our order. Im pleased to say we received a good discount for what was a disappointing mothers day lunch with my kids.

    A birthday celebration- the staff were attentive, but not over bearing. The service of each course was excellent and the quality and flavours perfect for the dishes that we chose. The Hake panfried with green lentils and peas, lobster and crayfish bisque was delicious, fresh and hot . We wanted to have an early dinner, but would perhaps next time make it a little later as by the time we were leaving the piano player was just getting into full swing and was a pleasure to hear. The desserts were very good, and having them brought to the table (on a rather too small dessert board- as they all looked so good and were a little cramped on the board ) we chose the apple tart tatain and creme brûlée. The finishing at the table with the flambé of the tart tatin was great to see and tasted equally as good. Will definitely return , and thank you for a most enjoyable early evening dinner.
