   The food is our favourite here however they are missing offering a bread basket (with minimal cost). Our server was also excellent, usually are. You have to reserve on weekends because it’s not a large restaurant. Management team is always helping their staff as well. We live in the neighborhood so very convenient for one of our favourite restaurants.

   The food was tasty and the portions were generous. Everything we ordered was yummy and served hot and fresh. Good quality food, big shrimp and big steaks. We’ll go back and have recommended the restaurant to friends.

    We brought our 80 year old parents. It was a first for all of us. The restaurant is incredibly loud but the manager took the time to put us in a booth in order to reduce the noice level as a few of is were hearing impaired. Even in the booth it was difficult to carry on a conversation. The food and service was great. The wine selection was amazing and not very expensive.

    My food was over cooked - ordered fish tacos and it was so crispy I don’t think there was even fish inside the batter.:( poor experience for me bring my first time eating at the Ottawa location. My partner had the crispy chicken and that was also over cooked with the batter being burnt like on the outside…again disappointed ☹️ Fries were cooked perfectly 👍🏻 Also had pretzels for app. Really enjoyed this !

    This was our second visit here. Our server Jackie-Lynne was also our server on our first visit. Jackie-Lynne was amazing both times. She made great recommendations with then menu and had a great sense of humour. Everything came out in a timely manor and tasted great. The service we received was some of the best we’ve had and we will definitely be back and hopefully will have Jackie-Lynne again!

    one thing that bothered me and I want to mention is that every 10 minutes or so the waitress asked us if we needed anything, I was trying to have a serious conversation and I was interrupted twice in my thoughts, it could just pass and if we needed something she would we were saying, but to interrupt someone while they are talking, in case we want something, I don't find it right

    Booked a special evening for my fiancé and mines 11 year anniversary. Requested standard seating and was put on the bar side not even a foot away from three older men eating wings and enjoying themselves. Was hoping for a more private seating area as requested and stated it was an anniversary. Bar was busy with only one server so service took a long time. Love the food here but this was our first bad experience in terms of ambiance and service. We will return though because that tuna tartar on crispy rice is what keeps us coming back !

    the butter chicken bowl was delicious but wish there was more chicken in it. my colleagues loved their salads and their meals. Prices were ok considering these times. service a bit slow but you could tell they were short staffed

    We had the Valentine’s special. The salmon, shrimp and cheesecake were especially good. We’ve found State & Main to provide consistently good food and service at reasonable prices. We’d prefer a lower noise level, but compared to some restaurants we’ve been to, this one is pretty good. We could hear each other talk!

    Fish taco was burned. Crispy chicken burger was too oily and not at all tasty, caesar salad was not worthy for $18. Even in other bar and grill we get that quantity as a side while ordering the main course. The salad was not mixed properly and not at all tasty. Happy hour is like a scam if low rate then low quantity. Overall quantity and quality was so bad. Please checkout other State and Main in another cities to see the difference.

    First time at this restaurant - took advantage of the $70 Valentine's day special. Just the right amount of food for two adults - had the sirloin steak which was cooked (medium rare) to perfection, as well as the honey glazed chicken (which was also fantastic). It was a busy evening but the food came in good time, nice and hot - we'll be back! Thanks to our servers Maya and Megan too (hope I'm remembering their names correctly!). Only thing we found was the music playing throughout the restaurant was a tad bit loud for conversation- but keep in mind, we're old and have trouble hearing each other speak anyway :)

    The atmosphere was nice. A little loud, but it is a kitchen/bar so to be expected. The staff was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend the Bang Bang shrimp! Does not disappoint!

    I love State & Main . I made a reservation online and asked for a booth and not near a speaker as one person wears hearing aids. I received exactly what I ordered. It was a perfect place to sit. Thank you! This was the first time the couple that I brought went to this restaurant but not mine. They were very pleased with service by our waitress as she was very pleasant, attended to our needs and everything was what we ordered. I brought them there because they were both celebrating birthdays. I paid for the dinner but they thought the wine was overpriced at $12.00 for 5oz. I dont know that as I do not drink wine. I told them to order whatever they wanted as it was a gift for the birthdays! They found the music at times a little loud as did I. Overall we were all very pleased and you now have 2 new customers as they live in your area. One note, the person at the front could be alittle more friendly. She does not come across that way. Perhaps she was having a bad day. She wasn't rude or anything but just not friendly and that is the first person a consumer sees when entering the restaurant. :) See again soon!
