The fish and chips were very good. The portion size was large enough to be totally satisfying. The batter was light. The chips were well cooked - firm but not overly crispy.

Lots of variety on the menu and good food. Almost wanted to ask the servers what some of the dishes were that passed by our table for another visit. The service was a good balance of attentive and leaving us alone to enjoy our dinner!

Excellent service and the menu is perfect for anyone. My meal was adjusted to have soy chicken. We had supper on a Thursday and the wine was 50% per bottle. Fun !

Attended the Valentines Day Special! Very delicious appetizers & entrées, but the dessert was satisfactory at best. Price wise, $70 was a great deal for two people! I’d recommend booking a reservation, for the place filled up very quickly. The seating is more open concept, so wasn’t a very intimate experience. Staff were friendly & attentive. Ps. Saturdays have $8.00 White Sangrias YUM!

Another enjoyable evening at State & Main. Restaurant is busy with people moving in and out throughout the evening. Staff are friendly and attentive. Several, reasonably priced, meal options available to choose from. A little thin on vegetarian options for dinner. If they were to add a grilled Tofu option as a substitute to the meat for several of the dishes that would solve this. Also could use a few more reasonably priced wine options but all in all a great place with good ambiance and decent value.

We both ordered from the gluten friendly menu which the server commented on. He then went through the usual warnings about fries in the same fryer. Server brought out my meal on a non-gluten free bun. After a few bites I realized there was no way something that good was gluten free. When we called the server over, he immediately said, "Oh, my bad. I didn't even put it in as gluten free. I wasn't thinking". Initially, he wasn't very apologetic, though he took my meal. The manager brought the new meal over and asked if I'd be OK. When told I him that no, I didn't think I would be ok because I'd been gluten free for almost 10 years due to an autoimmune disease, he said, "Ok, well, if not let me know" then left without giving me his name. They did comp my meal and our appetizer. They were just careless and not really concerned about the ramifications of such an error. It's been a week and my Christmas was ruined due to the autoimmune response to the gluten. I have been so sick as a result and still recovering.

Our orders were not processed by the kitchen initially resulting a delay in receiving our meals, which resulted in us not finishing until after expected (and late for business meetings). We were given a 50% discount, which we appreciated for acknowledging and dealing with the issue of the delay - so we were happy with that response to the issue.

This is often our go to restaurant and we love the menu . The fries with dill dip in my opinion are the best in the world. Server was very good. Once again a great experience.

Very poor service. Staff too busy goofing around with each other. Food was luke warm, wine needed to be colder. Teriyaki Rice is usually good. They can do better, we’ve witnessed better.

Dropped by to take our Univ kids out for dinner. Every plate was delicious and service was friendly and prompt. We had Dumplings in broth (yum), 3 different bowls and Beef Dip. Nailed it. We'll be back.
