   Nice restaurant and ambiance. Drinks were good. Waitstaff ok. The food was blah at best. Ordered 12oz ribeye (salty and undercooked), requested medium and it was rare. Potato were extremely salty and no mushroom Ragu was served as menu stated. Also Ordered birria grilled cheese....stated grilled onions but were raw, extremely fatty pieces of short rib in sandwich & barely any cheese. Hushpuppies/fries and drinks were the best part of the meal.

   Our server was excellent. The vibes were nice. Depending on the food you choose, it’s a wonderful experience. I chose the seafood platter which was pretty basic in relation to the rest of the menu.

   We have been here twice before and the food was amazing - wonderfully fresh and tasty. This past experience was unfortunately not as brilliant as the first two times. The restaurant atmosphere is wonderful, patio is wonderful, the wait staff is so friendly and attentive, but a couple of things with regards to the food: I always order the green salad that has seared tuna on it, which usually is beautiful, very fresh, deep, red, and enough for a filling meal. This time, the tuna was very pale, whitish-pink - and like it had been cut off from the left over cuts of meat. Not appetizing at all, and I did not eat it because I was afraid it was not fresh. The salad part was wonderful though. Also, I ordered a cappuccino which is small cup of coffee, but this literally had two sips of coffee and the rest was foam. Same for my husband’s cup of tea, half cuo of water. He also asked to substitute the type cheese on his hamburger to a different one, and was charged two dollars for making that change. Not sure if that was a mistake but anyway, it’s sort of ruined our experience. I would say go to state fair, but make sure you ask if everything is fresh when you order it, and make sure you get a fair size quantity that you are paying for.

   Great food and service! This location is a lot better than the one in Memorial city. It’s more of an open space and you don’t feel like you’re sitting on top of other people. It was a drive for us from Katy, but worth it!

   Hostess and waitress were super friendly, helpful, and attentive. My friend had chicken and I had the ribeye. My meat was so salty that it was hard to finish. The chicken was also super dry and the skillet potatoes were old. Green tomatoes were tasty but the crab on top was super fishy.

   I decided to eat here for my 25th birthday with about 14 people. They took care of us very well! Staff was very nice and helpful. They made the process a lot easier for me on celebrating my birthday. The restaurant is beautiful!

   We were seated and had to wait between 10 to 15 minutes before a waitress for a different area of the restaurant asked us if we had been helped. She pointed out the waitress we should have had which we had the first time we came in. I told her that we would prefer to have her and not the waitress we should’ve had. The food is good and the waitress that helped us this time was great. When I got home I got a message from Open Table that we had not checked in, not sure if there is Open Table police but I had to prove we at at State Fair. I probably wont go back to again.

    Love the drinks and the menu for weekend brunch. Invited 3 people from Fort Worth they feel in love with everything worth the drinks and ambiance. We're already planning to go back.

    We had a weird encounter with the host. We arrived before the rest of our party and checked in, then the rest of our party arrived and we were still waiting. There was no one else there, just our party waiting. Then the host asked if we wanted to keep waiting? It was very strange. Then I said no we were ready and he rolled his eyes and was quite rude. I wouldn’t go back.

    Initially we were seated in a small room separated from the main area by curtains, and no one came to wait on us for quite some time (maybe 15 minutes). We flagged down a server named Torrie, who went off to find our assigned server. Torrie quickly returned and took great care of us herself. Very personable, attentive, prompt and gracious. Food came out reasonably quickly and was quite good. What started out as “we won’t be back” turned in to a good experience due to Torrie’s professional and attentive service, and we will go back for that reason.

    We waited almost 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us and we had to initiate that acknowledgment. That left a sour taste in our mouth for the rest of the evening. Best thing about the night was the Frito pie!

    We had fried green tomatoes with lump crab, the fried shrimp platter and the frozen drink flight. It was all delicious. Kenya was an amazing server. Made for a very special Valentine’s lunch with my nana.

    We reserved a table for 5 at 6:15pm on a Saturday. We were seated promptly and ordered drinks while waiting for the remaining 2 people. Our waitress was not Johnny on the spot but the restaurant was busy. Food was middle of the road. Our friend had crab cakes and said they were more breading than crab. My husbands etoufee was mediocre. Our other friend had a chicken Cobb salad and got very sick that night after she got home. We asked for more water as my glass had been empty for some time and the waitress brought two carafes and set them on the table not serving anyone. We poured ourselves. She came by occasionally to check on us but it took 5 minutes to get a soup spoon so I could eat my gumbo. Then we received the check to which a 20% tip was automatically added. They have groups of 5 as large parties, not 6or8 like most other restaurants in the area. The food and service did not deserve that 20%. We will not EVER stiff waitstaff but 20% needs to be earned. Needless to say we will not be going back anytime soon.

    Food was delicious - had the mimosa flight and the stuffed banana french toast. Great music playing in the background. Service was amazingly attentive and friendly. My husband got the ham and cheese omelet which was tasty. We also got the jalapeño hushpuppies - very yummy. Will definitely return!

    Food served was not what we ordered, it took them forever to bring the food to our table, and they forgot some other dishes. The quality of the food was terrible: Tuna was not fresh, it had a fishy concentrated flavor and the meat was chewy; and of course, the chicken ordered was swapped for a breaded steak. Terrible, terrible!!! Worst place to eat ever!

    We were greeted and seated right away. I did arrive a few mins early for a reservation. However, it was not extremely busy for a Saturday brunch compared to usual memorial location I would patronize. Waitress was kind and informative. The Chef made my day by accepting my request for a half brunch board. I felt honored! All food order came out timely and warm to serve. I was able to give my personal thanks to the Chef. He was kind and appreciative! I have NEVER experienced bad service at any of my visited locations! Love State Fare!

    Dam!!!! This place is fantastic!!! Guy Fieri world be screaming flavortown on every dish. How can you improve on tarder sauce??? I donno, but they did!!! Like coffee & rum? Order a Breakfast club. Clair would approve and Bender would order a pitcher of them. Grant behind the bar is spot on everything. Recommendations, knows what works best and is a top level pro behind the bar. The Birria grilled cheese sandwich is straight up DDD worthy. They got a bit of everything in food and the music won't let us leave.

    I'm not sure what the focus of this restaurant is, as the menu has everything from burger to salads to gumbo to breakfast. The food is good, but there's nothing unique, no food that a restaurant identity.

    State Fare is amazing. The food, the service, the adorable decor, it was all 10/10. Alexis was our server, she was wonderfully polite, professional and very attentive. She made sure we all had everything we needed and that we had a great time. My daughter said it was the best birthday dinner she has ever had. We will absolutely be going again soon.

    This was our first visit to this restaurant. It’s very nice inside with an open kitchen. The tables are very close together but it gave it more of a family feel. Our waitress was great as was the food. Everything was very tasty. It seemed a little pricey but that wasn’t a deal breaker. We’ll definitely go back.
