I enjoyed an early dinner in standard seating. Tables moved and seating was banquet and chair seating. The bar was close and there was live music, but it wasn’t overwhelming. The food was prepared well and service was on point. I’d recommend it as a steakhouse.

Was surprised to only see two types of steak on the menu for a steakhouse. Didn’t have any review of specials. Heard of them through the waiter at the next table. With all the other options in Sedona, not sure we would go back.

We decided to eat here tonight with our friends that had a rehearsal dinner there 2 years ago. When we got there, we were offered a buffet at $50 per person because 45 people didn't show up. We chose to eat in the dining room instead. We ordered the filet mignon and it was the worst steak I have ever had. It was stringy on the end, had no flavor and did not resemble a filet what so ever. Our friends ordered the seasonal vegetables and were told it was cauliflower, asparagus, and zucini. They were brought ice cold vegetables that looked just like the ones from the buffet. They brought a 2nd batch that also did not have any of the vegetables that we were told. The manger said we believe in taking care of people and brought out what I would assume was the owner or GM. He basically tried to tell us the menu doesnt state what the vegetables were and we informed him of what we were told. That was followed by me being told the filet was their best seller and he has never had one sent back. It was the most over priced meal and the worst steak i have ever had. I would never eat there again, even if it were free. There was no sense of customer service or valuing the feedback provided, only basically telling us what we experienced is not legitimate.

Forgot my steak took 45 mins to get after rest of party had food, then had to be returned due to being barley cooked. Steak was taken off bill but had to ask to have entire meal taken off. Won’t be back.

DO NOT EAT THERE!!! Was looking for a very good steakhouse while in Sedona. Checked out their online menu and seemed a great selection and prices reasonable for quality steaks. Arrived for dinner at 6:45 and surprisingly the place was nearly empty. Not a good sign. Waiter brought the menus and immediately noticed it was not a match with the online menu. Only a fraction of the choices and the petite filet was priced $23 above the $30 online price. Questioned the waiter and he shrugged his shoulders and said they had recently changed the menu. We mentioned it dramatically differed from the online menu and he said they were now focused as "an event restaurant". We immediately decided to leave. On our way to the door, encountered the manager and complained about the poor menu selection, price increases and difference from the online menu. He feigned no knowledge of the menu difference and took a photo of it from our phone. He blamed someone else the menus didn't match and said the restaurant was now focused on special events ie: wedding parties, etc. It was obvious they didn't care about regular customers. He didn't even offer an apology. We called the Stagecoach steakhouse, a few blocks down 89A and they seated us immediately. Had a wonderful meal there and great service from our waiter James.

Pricey for a low end steak house. Lighting was poor, not ambiance, but many light fixtures were not working. Steak was tender and done properly, but had a bad taste to it. Menu at the restaurant was higher than the one shown online. Look elsewhere for a reasonably priced dinner with good ambiance.

Do NOT go here! Horrible food and horrible service! I’m still in shock at how bad this place was. We should have left when we were seated for our 7:45 reservation on Friday night and the place was empty. It took 15 minutes for someone to come to our table. The manager (or owner? (Not sure) finally came over. We politely mentioned we didn’t have a waitress yet. He proceeded to yell “I’lll be your waitress “. We ordered a bottle of wine. He then banged on the bar with a knife to get the bartender’s attention. Our $58 filet mignon was chewy and bland. The potatoes were cold and tasted like they came out of a box and were microwaved. When I mentioned the steak was too chewy to eat, the waitress returned with the bill and said the manager do discounted the bill. He took $11 off an inedible $58 meal.

To call this a steak house would be a joke. To charge prices like fine dining restaurant is ripping people off. Let me start from the beginning. We walked in for our 7 :00 Friday night reservation and was greeted by the hostess. She walked us through the short foyer into this large bar area and seated us in a booth in the bar. Not in a dining room, but in the bar. Ok, not ideal, but we will go with it. Our waitress arrived and was pleasant and helpful. I ordered a Caesar salad and the prime rib. I don't like to order medium rare or rare, I order it pink. My wife ordered the Filet medium wellish. Not red in the middle. My $15 salad arrived. It had the darkest part of the romaine leaves, not the lighter ones. Store bought croutons and store bought creamy Caesar dressing made up the salad. Oh well on to the main course. My prime rib was brought out blood red with some store bought creamy horseradish sauce. Very steak house like. My wife's filet came out very medium rare. Once our waitress scooped up our plates and returned them to the kitchen. Upon receiving corrections, my blood red steak was now dark brown. My first bite was tough and salty. My second bite while less tough was still chewy. By the third bite, I was done. This place is a bar that wants to act like a steakhouse with a cook who was hired from Denny's. No talent or originality. The one good thing I will say about this place is the parking is good with lots of space since apparently we were one of the few who didn't know this place was a disaster.

We ordered the surf and turf, dinner salad and calamari. Steak, asparagus, & shrimp was very tasty. Scalloped potatoes were satisfactory. The lobster tail was tasty, however the size of the lobster tail was about the size of my thumb! We shared this meal between by us two adults. The cost for this plate was 72.00. I enjoyed the calamari very much.

Not enough good steak options for a steakhouse. Overpriced for what it was. Only potato option was au gratin and it was very oily. Skirt or flank steak shouldn’t even be an on the menu at a steak house. It’s not the best cut of meat. Disappointed. Staff and atmosphere were great!

The food was poor. My wife ordered the flank steak. It was rough, flavorless, and did not come pre-cut (take is very tough and chewy, if not cut against the grain, and how many of us know how to do this?), and the steak knife provided was abysmal, barely cafeteria grade. I got the slow, roasted lamb shank, which was a gamy and not overly flavorful or tender. Our waiter was loud and impatient. Country music blaring over the speakers. And for a steakhouse, there were very few steaks on the menu. Would not go here again.

Made reservations for dinner and not many cars when we arrived. But the room we were seated in was soon nicely filled with space between tables. The food was delicious! Although the “Turf and Surf” special was a bit pricey at $70 for 6 oz of filet and 4 shrimp plus potatoes and asparagus. Overall it was a nice night out.

This place seemed like a good spot from the outside and it’s in Sedona proper which is convenient. However the steak was over cooked. not just one of our meals but both of them (NY strip and Prime rib). The sides and main courses were AppleBees quality (no offense AppleBees as you are not charging $60 per steak like this place does!). The service was rushed and not appropriate. If I wanted a basic place that charges $20-$30 a meal then ok but this place is supposed to be fine dining. I would not at all recommend it! Sorry Steak 89 you need new management and new cooks who care about service and the art of fine dining.

This is a "steakhouse" with 2 steak options. We had both - the NY strip was fair and the filet reminded me of a filet I have gotten at a wedding reception. They hide the quality with a glaze. The flavor of that was good, but the filet quality was poor. If i'm paying $50 for a 6 oz filet it should be a quality piece of meat. The lamb shank and salmon were better than the steaks. The sides were ok. This is a mediocre restaurant with high end restaurant price. We would not return.

This is a pricy steakhouse. The menu is quite short, with only 2 steaks on the menu. The steaks were fine, but nothing special, one guest felt his was quite tough, we had to ask for steak knives to cut. The fineness consistency varied, for one, the med rare was quite rare, for another it was closer to medium. They don’t serve any bread with the meal. The scalloped potatoes were quite good. One item we ordered was never delivered. Service was pleasant but rushed with the dishes being almost thrown on the table. Servers are hard to get these days, but maybe a little reminder that this is suppose to be an upscale steak house. In all it was fine, we were hungry and ate food which was fine, but nothing outstanding. Dessert choice was less than appealing. I feel in a touristy town this is about what I would expect for the price we paid. $350 for 4, including 3 glasses of wine&2 desserts.

Out of the four meals we ordered one didn’t come for 30 minutes after everyone received their food. Our steaks were the texture of a roast not a filet. Forgot to bring one side item all together. The vibe was definitely weird as well.

Celebrated our anniversary. Sat us by a group of kids. Loud cowboy music playing was unnecessary. For upscale steakhouse prices over $52 for a steak thought ambiance would be better. Steak was very small and served a la cart. Was not worth the cost. My short ribs were excellent but best part of meal was scalloped potato’s

Menu on website did not match the actual menu once you arrived. Crazy to spend 400 with tip while chasing down the server for half my food. Not to mention my name was "brother" to the server....I just wanted my food. Everything was way over priced and didn't match the ambiance or the service. I highly do not recommend until this place figures out what it wants to be.

Food was not consistent. The meat was barely warm while the potatoes and veg were hot. The waiter was clearing the table when everyone was not finished eating. Certainly not consistent with our experience a year ago

This was probably the worst experience we had dinning ever. The entire place smells like a sewer… yes a sewer. After we’ve been seated I asked what was that smell because it was unbearable and I was told that it was actually a sewer. I was explained that when it rains the sewer fills out and it smells like that. It was the worst. Imagine having dinner in a heavy traffic public bathroom.. or worse!!!
