    Restaurant was not busy, yet it took over 20 minutes to get a drink and nearly an hour to receive our meals. We had to ask the waitress to bring us another drink and had to ask her to check on our meals. Food was very good but a tab of over $130 should have included timely/attentive service

    Food was delicious and the perfect portion size for a three course meal. The ambiance was upscale but still friendly for families. The only complaint is the location inside the Embassy Suites but that has nothing to do with the quality of the food!

    We had thanksgiving lunch so it might be a difficult time, but our table, which we booked months ago, was far from the river views. The buffet was fine, but not extraordinary. Service was good.

    The food was very good. Our only issue was with the peel and eat shrimp. While certainly nice size it was too difficult to peel and clean the "intestines" at the table without any tools. I know some people will eat that part but it's a turnoff to many. Also just a small issue with the prime rib being a little too overcooked. Still tasted great though.

    Beautiful hotel restaurant with views of the Cape Fear River. Thanksgiving buffet was well laid out to avoid long lines. Service was very pleasant, especially considering they were working Thanksgiving day. Food (brined turkey, prime rib, ham carving stations, the expected side dishes of sweet potato cassarole, mashed potatoes, green bean cassarole, corn, and a salad/shrimp/oyster bar, along with a cheese and fruit bar, dessert bar) was nice but perhaps a bit underwhelming at this price point. Overall, however, it was a lovely meal and a great option for those who didn't want to cook for the holiday.

    The dining room feels like a cafeteria, the waiter brought our menus and asked what do we want to eat? How about a drink, water was on the table and we had a 10 and a 12 year old with us. After 20 min. the waiter finally went to the bar and got a glass of wine and a cocktail for us. The ceasar salad was awful. Huge cut pieces of dark leafy parts of the head of the romaine , no pieces crunchie, the accompanying piece of toast was soft. When I inquired about the soft TOAST, the waiter said most people like their bread soft don't they. The kids wouldn't even eat the soft french fries. When the waiter asked at the end of the meal how was it I told him nothing was very good. He said I should have told him, I said no the food should have come out right. We had two of the MP strip steaks, very tough, crab cakes, and pasta. The whole experience was very disappointing. We could have eaten any where in Wilmington. The hotel room was just as disappointing , with stain ragged carpet, stained sofa. Will not stay there again. Great location on the river.

    We had a reservation, however our table was not ready for 20 minutes after we arrived. This was a problem as we had a show to catch at the Wilson Center. Staff was very arrogant and unapologetic (except the bartender). Very disappointing experience all around.

    We arrived for sunset over the Cape Fear River - spectacular! Our server was very attentive but gave us time when we asked for a slower experience since we were early for a show at the Wilson Center. My Manhattan cocktail (with house whiskey requested) totaled $18. A bit pricey as this is Wilmington NC and not Manhattan NYC. Very good experience overall. We will return especially if we're doing a show at the Wilson.

    Overall, a wonderful experience. While we may have been one of two tables in the restaurant at lunch, the food and service were excellent. 5 stars on the food! The Blue crab and corn chowder, mahi tacos, charred tomato soup and short rib grilled cheese were a hit. The view is nice, and the restaurant is quiet and lovely. Parking in the Embassy Suite deck is convenient, ask the server to validate your ticket. Will definitely go back.

    Nice views, food is good, service is a bit slow. Over an hour wait on the food, both when it was busy, but also when there were only 3 tables food took over 40 minutes. Manager was willing to compensate with a dessert or app, but we declined.

    The ambience and view is spectacular. Our waitress ~ Sydney was very helpful and efficient. We were there for lunch so the menu was limited but interesting and delicious.

    We had tickets for an event at the Wilson Center and Steam was recommended for their Prefix 3 course theater dinner. I read many reviews of this restaurant before booking a reservation. Sadly, the meals were not very good. We both ordered the crab and corn chowder as the first course. Neither of us could identify or taste any crab. Disappointing. I ordered the salmon which was bland a bit dry even though I ordered it medium. It came with sweet potato and something burnt and unidentifiable roasted fennel and purple beets which sounded delicious but tasted like burnt hash browns. My husband ordered the braised short ribs with grits and brussel sprouts. The grits were like cement and the beef was over seasoned. The only good part was the brownie for dessert and the nice view of the river. Our server was very nice and offered to get us something else but we had to get to the theater. We will not return.

    I went with my family and we all really enjoyed everything we got from Oysters Wilmington and the Pimento cheese to Crab cakes , ravioli and the pasta dish. Service was spot on but not to the point to where it became annoying. Then theres the view of the river. If you are in the area I would definitely recommend eating here.

    OMG! Ayanna is an absolute jewel! Why does she remind me of Simone Biles? So energetic, so bubbly and friendly. My best friend was in town visiting from Dallas and she recommended the fall drinks. She was all smiles and so sweet. She made sure to keep the bread basket full! What a wonderful human! She’s a keeper! Oh and the food was really good too!

    If only I could afford this more. Everything was fantastic. Our service was the best. Very pricey. Could stand to cost less and gain more routine business from locals. With the current pricey menu, we could only come very randomly. Which is sad as it was truly good. Thanks.

    Have eaten here several times for bith lunch and dinner. Delicious dinner with great presentation. Attentive staff. Wonderful view of the Riverwalk and passing boats.

    Wonderful meal and great service. The view is lovely, as well. We had the blue crab and corn chowder, cape cobb salad and blackened seafood pasta. The pappardelle tasted home-made and the scallops were perfect! We'll come back to try more of their delectable entrees! Thanks also to Joe, our server; he was professional, friendly and sociable.

    The entrees were a teensie bit expensive but SO tasty and basically worth it. The Brussels sprout appetizer was huge (feeds 3-4) and VERY good! Views of the river made it all memorable Will def go again

    The views can’t be beat, from both the bar at Cloud Nine and inside the restaurant. The noise level was way below most restaurants’, and the service was impeccable. We had a large group, and everyone’s food was excellent. And with a quick, low price valet parking (or free parking in the deck beside the hotel), this will be on the short list of our favorite restaurants.

    Food was good. Could have been great with a little more flavor. Scallops were cooked perfectly. Presentation was perfect. The crab and corn cowder is a must. Will return to try the short ribs.

    Our meals were fabulous. We had short ribs, seafood pasta, strip steak, and coconut shrimp. The atmosphere was delightful. The sunset nice. Then we had a drink at Cloud 9.

    deliciously flavorful seafood dishes and a lovely ambiance. our server Landin was very professional and gave us some great local recommendation and told us about some of Wilmington’s history, which was awesome. we had a great time.

    Seated immediately for our early dinner reservation. Greeted by server quickly. Drinks took an exorbitant amount of time for no busier than they were. Were not offered daily specials, and really no discussion about the menu. Entree order was taken and then another server greeted us AS our order was being taken by our original server. Then the two of them had words AT the table over the confusion of who’s table it was! We had already been seated 20+ minutes (waited to order until another couple arrived). The second server was completely out of line, even if it was their table. Food was excellent, but a bit overpriced. Overall it was an enjoyable experience but unlikely to return.

    Enjoyed the entire experience at Steam. The food was superb, the atmosphere was great and the views were amazing. The service was a little slow and they were not busy so that was not an excuse. We had to ask for our drinks and bread came after we started our entrees. Will go again though, maybe they were trainees that night,

    Brussels sprouts were our family favorite, we ordered two :) Fantastic staff, wonderful food. Beautiful view of the river. Server Kirk and Manager Derek were both a delight. Will be returning soon.
