Sticks and Stones
Excellent service. Sushi and appetizers were delicious. Ramen was bland and noodles were nothing special. Tables are close together which interferes with private conversation. Got there early enough to avoid the crowd, but noise level increased as we were finishing up. Pricey, small portions. Overall very good.
Food was really good, cocktails were excellent but the portions (except the Korean Chicken) were tiny. The spicy tuna rolls were as big around as my finger.
The food variety is excellent with so many original dishes.
The waitress was excellent and very knowledgeable in helping us understand all the different ingredients on the menu.
Kitchen was very slow. Had to call waitress to get a drink, did not come by often. Food was good but took half an hour to get our meal.
The food was delicious. I did not appreciate how loudly the pass out employee was speaking to other employees about non-work related topics. I have worked in the food industry before so I understand enjoying your time at work. But we were one of 3 tables by the pass out area, so I'm not why we were seated directly behind the pass out in the first place as I booked a reservation. He swore multiple times talking about drinking and other unprofessional stories. I would go back for the food and hope that he maybe learns to keep personal story telling to a dull roar, if he doesn't I will say something.
Great sharing style food with friends and family!!!
The portions are to small for the price! While the food is good, the price is steep for what you get.
Very cold sitting close to the front door. Felt a bit rushed to finish and go warm up in the car.
The food here is delicious. Great atmosphere and great service. I am disappointed tho that the menu seems to keep shrinking every couple of months. A few years ago there were more sushi options than the entire menu now. Like I said the food here is delicious it’s just frustrating that you never know when your favourite dishes will be gone from the menu.
This was the second day in a row that we went and it was just as good the second time!!
First time there. Loved the restaurant, loved the food, and staff was friendly and helpful with input on what to order. We ordered a few things throughout our evening there, and were a little disappointed with how long a couple of our final items took to be served, but it was a busy evening and we weren’t in a hurry so it was no big deal (and I’m sure it was a bit frustrating on their part to have customers order multiple times throughout their time there). It’s a bit of a long narrow restaurant with quite a few 2 seater tables close together so not tons of privacy - although that was not desirable for us, it wasn’t an issue. Looking forward to going back and would highly recommend it.
Overall had a very enjoyable evening, but disappointed in limited gluten free options and a bit noisy.
Awesome food awesome service. Could be the best food in Saskatoon!!
Our server was phenomenal. She took the time to explain her recommendations on items newer to the menu, always ensuring our dietary preferences were taken into consideration. Although the meal prep time was a little longer than expected, the food’s quality and presentation were worth the wait
Probably one of my favourite places to go to in Saskatoon. The service and food is always great. The vibe is cool, and it’s a great place to have a date night!
Service was excellent, food was good, but portions were small. A bit disappointing...
We come to dine a couple three times a year and have enjoyed the food every time.
We were very happy with our experience on Saturday night at Sticks and Stones. The food was great as was our server. There was a very noisy group when we got there but they were celebrating a birthday so it was understandable. I was disappointed that they were out of the dessert that I wanted but these things happen. the only thing I would suggest is some pillows for the booth seating. It was very deep and my back was a sore when we left. But overall it was an excellent evening!
Great as always
We have been to this place several times. This was the slowest service we’ve gotten. It wasn’t the server but the time it took to get our food. And we were disappointed with the menu changes.
Absolutely delicious. I will recommend your restaurant to my friends
Our server was a delight, very knowledgeable. Great experience
We used to really love coming to Sticks and Stones for their vegetarian sushi, but unfortunately on this visit we discovered that they got rid of many of their vegetarian option and only have one vegetarian roll on the menu. The menu posted online was inaccurate, so we didn’t know this ahead of time to change our reservation. The one roll we had was fine but our two faves were gone (the green dragon and hot and crispy yam rolls). We won’t be back unless they add back more veg sushi options to their menu.
It was great!
Myself and a great friend stopped at Sticks and Stones on Wednesday October 2nd before the Elton John concert. We live about 3 hours away from Saskatoon but had great experiences at Avenue (Regina) and knew that S&S was in the same Grassroots Restaurant group. Wow wow wow what an amazing experience - where do I begin!! Let’s start off with our server - I believe her name was Ashley. She was incredible, very friendly, and overall excited to be there. We wanted to try everything so she brought us some of her faves and we were NOT disappointed. Every morsel of food was perfection. We tried the steam buns, squid, fried chicken, the Mundo? (Little dumplings x5) , a pork bowl of some sort, some sushi rolls, some sake (house & dessert variety) and then topped it off with some plum ice cream and the creme caramel dessert. Everything was cooked and presented perfectly. I actually got MAD at how good the creme caramel dessert was. I couldn’t understand how something could taste that amazing. Thank-You to Ashley our server, all of the staff and cooks at S&S and anyone behind the scenes of this impeccable restaurant group. I will never stop bragging about my experiences here. I am so so happy that I am able to enjoy food and surroundings like this. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING BECAUSE IT’S CRAZY GOOD.
Great service. Hate the loud rap music and yelling dinner convo with people on either side of me yelling their dinner convo. TMI. So multiple cocktails help. Somewhat. Moose, I miss your your awesome cocktails. You will be sorely missed. Missing some favourites from the menu. Thank you grilled squid.
Disappointing. The menu has changed and not for the better. The service was indifferent and taciturn.
We first chose this restaurant because of a note in AMA magazine, and second because I recognized the owner’s name from a competition on the Food Network. We were in Saskatoon for the weekend. What fun! This restaurant is Korean in theme... make no mistake. If you’re doubtful about Korean food, it may not be for you. We are very familiar with Korean cuisine, and we tried 4 dishes. They were all delicious, and each had its own particular flavour profile. None of our dishes tasted exactly alike. My personal favorite was the “Spicy Pork Bowl with Rice.” The pork in this case is marinated pork belly, and the flavour was complex and spectacular. Wow. Our server was attentive. Total price including $75 for a bottle of wine (not including tip) was $145. We would definitely return.
Stick and Stones is a small but comfortable restaurant. The food was great and so was the service! We will be returning!
Excellent. I would recommend this restaurant. The staff were very knowledgable in both food and beverage. The food came out in a timely fashion with excellent presentation. The food and drink were very palatable.
Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. I am looking forward to my next encounter.
Always enjoy eating at Sticks and Stones! The food is super delicious, and they are always very accommodating of making a dish that my 3 year old will eat.
The atmosphere is good for either a casual meal with friends, or date night, and is reasonably priced for the quality you get.
Awesome. Great room. Amazing service. Excellent food. Thank you.
We were a bit disappointed that the menu size had scaled down, and many of our favourite items were no longer on the menu.
Never disappointed with the food. Always delicious.
New food experience for us. Delicious flavours
The service was outstanding
Friends who ordered different food said portions were small, too salty; nothing special about my shoyu ramen.
I would like to see a few gluten free options in the drink and food menu.
Service was excellent and the food was very good. Served in a timely manner. Will definitely be back!
Martinis 🍸 overpriced olives to hard. Food delicious and service excellent
Food, service, value awesome as usual. Just a bit noisy
