Sticks and Stones
Food was good, but over priced. The size of the menu has significantly decreased, not a whole lot of variety.
It was amazing ramen and great drinks.
distinctive , yummy , creative food, friendly service, and good cocktails. The place is loud though so hard to hold a conversation
My boyfriend was in from out of town and loves trying the ‘It’ restaurants. After going to Ayden the previous evening, we left disappointed and gouged, overall. Sticks and Stones was about 1/3 of the cost and overall, 1000 times better. Food was amazing, well worth the price, service was outstanding with neither of us ever having an empty water or drink glass. I know these two restaurants are owned by the same group, so it was shocking the differences, overall. Especially when it’s around $15 for a cocktail at Ayden and would take anywhere from 5-10 minutes to get it, whereas at Sticks and Stones, cocktails were about the same, maybe a little less in price, and I never had an empty glass. We shared the pork steamed buns and the Kimbap roll, both of which were absolutely amazing. My boyfriend had the miso ramen and I had the spicy, which once again, both were great. We left so full that it hurt; at a fraction of Ayden pricing.
We wouldn’t return to Ayden, but he is already talking about the next time he comes to visit what he wants from sticks and stones.
I reserved a table three days in advance and the only options for tables were at the bar.. but when we arrived and throughout our entire dinner there were multiple tables open right behind us. We sat at the bar on Valentine’s Day for absolutely no reason in my opinion. Why not sit us at a table when we’re very clearly on a Valentine’s Day date ? There were at least four two person tables open the entire hour and a half we were there. Absolutely ridiculous. Not going back.
AmaIng food as always!
Tried sticks and stones with dinner club. We sampled many menu items and were very impressed with everything except dessert. Favourites included pork buns, fried chicken, and sushi. Very impressed with the cocktails, we tried zero, sticks nog, spirited away and witches brew. Thank you for great night!!
Not a lot of selection on menu (especially for vegetarians (even semi-veggies) or in general (i.e. 3 desert items to choose from- ordered the pancake however neither of us enjoyed it). Sorry :(
The service was really great, nice atmosphere and comfortable. Hope the feedback is helpful.
The waitress forgot to ring in my order of pork belly buns (which was my main). She didn’t come by again for me to ask until my boyfriend was already done his dinner. She apologized and we waited another 15 min for it to come. And then we were still charged for it. Being a waitress myself, I think it’s bad business to make a mistake like that, and not comp it on the bill. She didn’t once come by to ask how our meals were or if we wanted something else. I don’t think I’ll be going back.
It was delish! I have dietary restrictions and the waitress and kitchen crew were so awesome!
Food is great but they need to start changing up the menu a bit.
This was the 2nd time I have visited sticks and stones and this time was much better then the first. I had the mushroom steam buns which was very good and the hot and crispy yam roll again very good and finally the mandu which was only OK, I found the filling under seasoned. The service was excellent I cannot remember her name but cheers to her. Prices are bit on the high side BUT you are paying for quality food.
This place used to be one of my favourites. Unbelievable menu and delicious food. The food is still very good but I was disappointed to see that they’d cut close to half their menu. Not just swapped out items but a full page, cut. Gyoza (which used to be the best in the city) are gone, tempura veg and local mushrooms, gone. Still a good meal but don’t expect the exception variety they used to have.
Great service....decor was amazingly quiet & comfortable. The booths were buffered the noise but it was still quite loud.
The Mizo soup tasty , unfortunately was extremely salty as was the Korean Chicken🥴
The sushi was amazing as was Bambpapi (sp?)
I would come again & recommend it to my friends, thanks
Been to Sticks & Stones numerous times however was not impressed this time. Food was mediocre - bibimbap was mostly rice, minimal meat and veggies and not very flavourful. Beef ribs tasted ok but lacked presentation. Spicy rolls were not spicy. Asked for everything to be gluten free but ended up getting 'glutinated' anyway.
Service was not good. Ordered a second drink before mains arrived and didn't receive it till 40 minutes later, just before the bill. Server did not come by and ask if meals were ok nor did she ask if we wanted a refill on tea.
Dissapointed this go around :(
Everything was great as usual
Always a good night out, steam buns are always a favourite.
The service and the food is always exceptional!
Food and service was fantastic. Ambient lighting and music was great, a bit loud for me but I'm getting old.
Menu has been reduced, expensive. I’m sure we’ll be back however our dinning experience wasn’t our best. Usually this is our favourite place to eat, we might think twice next time. And please get some rice noddles for the soup. If you order gluten free your eating over priced broth that’s sub par! Step it up guys!!
Dinner was great as always.
I wish they still had their large sushi menu. We used to go all the time for sushi, but now they have a quarter of a page to select from.
Amazing food , awesome staff and overall an amazing restaurant. I will always keep coming back and my 3 teenager can’t stop talking about it with giant smiles on their faces !! Thank you sticks and stones.
Sunday night dinner date. Can’t go wrong. Our favourite spot in Saskatoon. Love it!
The food was amazing!
Needs more vegetarian options. Lights turned down so low that the food doesn't look as appealing. Sat for nearly an hour before receiving any food. Tables too close together makes it very noisy. Didn't receive a few things we ordered. Not worth over $110 for two people.
Prices have gone up, menu is quite limited, the chicken was delicious, very little vegan options, l a kalbi was very chewy, ...
we’ve gone for years but was disappointed this time.
always amazing food and service here. the servers have great recommendations and are so friendly. love the vibe of sticks and stones too. anytime someone asks me where they should eat in saskatoon i tell them about sticks!!!
Ashley is a rock star. If we could give her 10 stars we would. Excellent service and she went above and beyond with the Sundog :) She gives thought and time to maximizing guests’ experiences. Thank you!
The food was so tasty and the service was great!
Excellent service. Sushi and appetizers were delicious. Ramen was bland and noodles were nothing special. Tables are close together which interferes with private conversation. Got there early enough to avoid the crowd, but noise level increased as we were finishing up. Pricey, small portions. Overall very good.
Food was really good, cocktails were excellent but the portions (except the Korean Chicken) were tiny. The spicy tuna rolls were as big around as my finger.
The food variety is excellent with so many original dishes.
The waitress was excellent and very knowledgeable in helping us understand all the different ingredients on the menu.
Kitchen was very slow. Had to call waitress to get a drink, did not come by often. Food was good but took half an hour to get our meal.
The food was delicious. I did not appreciate how loudly the pass out employee was speaking to other employees about non-work related topics. I have worked in the food industry before so I understand enjoying your time at work. But we were one of 3 tables by the pass out area, so I'm not why we were seated directly behind the pass out in the first place as I booked a reservation. He swore multiple times talking about drinking and other unprofessional stories. I would go back for the food and hope that he maybe learns to keep personal story telling to a dull roar, if he doesn't I will say something.
Great sharing style food with friends and family!!!
The portions are to small for the price! While the food is good, the price is steep for what you get.
Very cold sitting close to the front door. Felt a bit rushed to finish and go warm up in the car.
The food here is delicious. Great atmosphere and great service. I am disappointed tho that the menu seems to keep shrinking every couple of months. A few years ago there were more sushi options than the entire menu now. Like I said the food here is delicious it’s just frustrating that you never know when your favourite dishes will be gone from the menu.
This was the second day in a row that we went and it was just as good the second time!!
First time there. Loved the restaurant, loved the food, and staff was friendly and helpful with input on what to order. We ordered a few things throughout our evening there, and were a little disappointed with how long a couple of our final items took to be served, but it was a busy evening and we weren’t in a hurry so it was no big deal (and I’m sure it was a bit frustrating on their part to have customers order multiple times throughout their time there). It’s a bit of a long narrow restaurant with quite a few 2 seater tables close together so not tons of privacy - although that was not desirable for us, it wasn’t an issue. Looking forward to going back and would highly recommend it.
