The only reason I did not give 5 stars is the Restaurant Supervisor Marc was incredibly rude in his manner. I only asked a simple question re seating. He provided his response to which I said “oh that’s wise”. His snarky response given over his shoulder walking away was “yes, I’m very good at my job”. Totally uncalled for a shocked our group as a whole. Our server and the food was excellent.
Marc could use some coaching.
Excellent food and service. We look forward to trying the Chef’s Tasting Menu next time!
Great restaurant in the Malcolm hotel. The food is well prepared and served quickly. Delicious crab cakes, bao buns and the bison bolognese was excellent. Their desserts are unique and very flavourful.
Food was very very good!
Everything was lovely! A few loud kids around but otherwise no complaints. The food was fantastic and our server was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Great burger and local beer. Will be back again for their weekly special.
The guy at the front was pleasant & nice, but when we got sat down the server who brought us water was curt & only said “of course” when we said thank you to her. Super quiet & bright in there, feels uptight as well (def not POC-friendly). There were only three other tables in the place but we waited 10+ minutes for a server, so we left. Idk about the food, can only speak to our experience while there.
We were quite happy with all our food and our waitress was amazing! Fresh Oysters were on special and were some of the best I’ve had, ordered mussels as their house feature that day for the 4 of us to share as a starter and was also amazing!! Butter chicken and house salad and French onion soup was unreal, the lobster ravioli was good the men said and wasn’t super hot when it came, garlic bread was burnt and unappealing.
Red Wine we had was sooo good and smooth ->Austin Hope Cab Sauv.
Overall an excellent meal and great atmosphere for our double date night or sport watching with friends too!
We decided to travel from Calgary to the Malcolm Hotel for New Years Day lunch. As usual the food and service were excellent. We have stayed and eaten at this lovely hotel lots of times. The Stirling Grill never disappoints.
Excellent service! Amazing food! Definitely coming back
Service was great. The whole mood of the restaurant was very pleasant. The highlight was definitely the food. I will be dreaming of that lobster ravioli for the rest of my days. I will most definitely be returning.
Great food! Amazing service! Beautiful restaurant
Worst meal and service I have had at this restaurant and I have been there many times.
Great service, quiet, tasteful decor, beautifully plated meals and absolutely delicious.
Great food. Had a great time celebrating my wife birthday. Erin provided a great service.
Food and service were excellent. This was our second visit and we will definitely return when we have guests visiting Canmore from out of town.
Amazing Christmas dinner!!!!
Great overall experience. Really good food and fantastic service.
This is an excellent place to get great food.
Our waiter was Kristian and he was fantastic - food was fantastic and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is near Canmore.
Our fire pit experience at the Sterling Grill was a highlight of our trip. Very relaxing, lovely service with beautiful views of the mountains.
This restaurants idea for pasta night was really impressive. Family style, and you get to taste everything in the menu! It started out really lovely, but we waited two hours for the final two courses and had to get them to go. Our waitress was excellent and clearly did her best.
Hopping place (nice to see, despite COVID) with a good menu and decent drinks list. Service is very good, maitre-D looked after guests’ comfort. The lounge is rather noisy (it is a lounge), with a restaurant (same kitchen) off to the side for a quieter experience. This is a go-to for Canmore. We’ll definitely be back.
It was okay but nothing amazing. The manager of the lounge was discussing a reservation issue with the table next to us. He basically accused them of not having a reservation and asked to see their reservation on their phone. It turned out that they booked the wrong place but it was all so very unnecessary and really spoiled our tea. It was uncomfortable and very unwelcoming to hear guests being scrutinized in this manner. All this and there were only 2 tables having tea in the restaurant!
Belinda was our server, she was awesome. She recommend all the right choices that worked for us. The food was delicious. The service great.. we all had a greattime
Food was very good.
Don’t advertise wine by glass but they do serve it.
Attentive through meal without being interruptive.
Excellent selection of drinks and food. Service was exceptional provided by Emma who made the night memorable.
Would definitely come again to the Stirling Lounge.
Amazing service right from the time we checked in. Staff very accommodating and ensuring your experience was just what you wanted. Can’t commend the staff enough! Thank you all for a wonderful night … my husband said it was the best steak sandwich he ever had!!
Amazing as ALWAYS!
Great Happy Hour !
Steak Sandwich outstanding as ever.
Delicious Burgers !
See you soon again !
We rented the fire pit and it was a lovely experience though $60 for 1 hour would have been more to our liking (you have to book 2 hours and that’s not made clear).
Service was great, the fire was great. Had a lot of fun.
Reserved one of their outdoor fire tables. Was great for visiting with friends on a nice November day and the kids loved the s’mores and hot chocolate.
Weird ambience: it can't decide if it's a sports bar or a wine bar. The decor is generic, dark, and uninspired. Not much daylight. Crab cakes dry. Cauliflower bites drowned in overly sweet sauce. Onion soup too sweet. We're not super picky diners! This was just a disappointing experience.
Loud atmosphere like a pub and does not match the Malcolm hotel ambiance. People yelling repeatedly. Would not recommend this to hotel to guest with family or want something low key. Servers and host/hostesses have no customer service. Avoid if you can. Expensive and loud!
What an amazing start to our vacation. I had the chicken wings and French onion soup. Soup is hard to describe. I have to say the best I’ve ever had. Hardly any bread. Giant bites of melted cheese. Onions blended into a sweet taste. The wings were really different a mixture of somewhat tangy sauces not too hot but enough to tingle the taste buds.
We really enjoyed our lunch there. A very cool new restaurant in Canmore. We could highly recommend it.
We have eaten here a number of times and the food is great. Weird situation when we arrive 7 mins early …… the guy actually scolded us for arriving early…… so don’t go early I guess😂😂😂
When I booked their were spot open all afternoon but we were the only people their for a bit, which was fine with Covid!
Nice place, good service and the food was soooo grat!
It was a beautiful experience, they decorated the table for my sister and even had a list of mocktails for her as she’s pregnant.
Our server was absolutely amazing, and the food couldn’t have been better. Will definitely be back and definitely recommend!
