We have eaten here a number of times and the food is great. Weird situation when we arrive 7 mins early …… the guy actually scolded us for arriving early…… so don’t go early I guess😂😂😂
When I booked their were spot open all afternoon but we were the only people their for a bit, which was fine with Covid!
Nice place, good service and the food was soooo grat!
It was a beautiful experience, they decorated the table for my sister and even had a list of mocktails for her as she’s pregnant.
Our server was absolutely amazing, and the food couldn’t have been better. Will definitely be back and definitely recommend!
Amazing experience for my Birthday! Felt very welcoming and the food was terrific.
The rib eye cost $40. I asked for medium and it arrived rare and even blue in parts. The bill was reduced by$10. Disappointing. Steak should not be offered if the staff don’t know how to achieve the requested result. I would recommend with a caveat not to order steak.
Although I enjoyed our experience, it was quite loud. As well, I did not know when I reserved that I would be in the lounge. Had hoped to be in the restaurant.
Party of 4, We ordered the Kings Table, which is a 5 course meal. Cesar Salad, tomato soup, Carpaccio, duck or beef and a crepe. Salad and soup were excellent. However Both the duck and beef tenderloin were on the cold side. But because I’m inexperienced with duck I’ll exclude it from the review. But the tenderloin was very disappointing. Cold and flavourless. We’ve eaten steak at many higher end restaurants...Mastros ocean club, HYS steakhouse, Wildflower, la ronde etc..and this was the worst steak I’ve had by far. Even The keg is significantly better. Lastly My wife’s crepe was soaked in Grand Mariner, so she couldn’t eat it. When a party of 4 walks away from a $750 evening there should be some level of satisfaction. The service was excellent and was a bright spot at least. Prompt, accommodating and charming. I hate writing negative reviews...maybe just don’t order the kings table and you’ll have a better experience?
When we arrived expecting to be going for a fancy dinner we were seated in the bar area. Yelp does not distinguish in the reservation. This could be a problem. We were accommodated and had a lovely meal
Loud atmosphere. Patio wasn’t open as they were short staffed which was disappointing in the summer.
Disappointed this time around with our dinner. We had lunch there last winter and my husband ordered the burger meal and it was fantastic and we couldn’t wait to go back. Lastnight it didn’t taste the same and the fries tasted different as well, overcooked and unnatural .. not sure if there was a change of chef but the food was not worth the cost. The beef bites seemed like just ground beef , nothing special about it either, wouldn’t order it again ..
Everyone there was very accommodative and kind. I’m surprised this was the first time we’d heard of the place. It was very kind of the chef at the egg station to custom make a very yummy eggs benedict for us because we couldn’t have pork. All the food was delicious at the breakfast buffet but the omelette, eggs benedict, roasted cherry tomatoes and potatoes took the cake for me. Plus with unlimited juices and coffee, a $28 buffet breakfast is a steal of a deal.
Antonina always is a pleasure to have serving us !
Steak Sandwich & Scottish Soup were outstanding.
Another great evening at the Stirling Grill.
I have celiac disease and called ahead to confirm what I could eat. Once I got there they weren’t sure if the chicken was safe as it was already prepared when they receive it. All I ate was popcorn and a basic salad. Big disappointment. Non celiacs liked their food.
A friend and I booked dinner here after someone told us the cocktails and food was amazing. It was very busy on a Monday night and extremely short staffed. Our server was busy, so another waiter took our order. The food arrived before the drinks. It was good but not great. Desert was yummy. Probably would go back, but only after eating at every other place in town.
Wonderful experience,my only disappointment is that I made a mistake on the tip. But hopefully I’ll be and do right🤗$$…nice job overall 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Very good food, had the calamari steak sandwich and house salad. We recommend
The dining room was not open so we ate in the lounge/bar. It was fine, had reservations so were given a booth. Not a huge menu, the onion soup was delicious. Beware of ordering the crab cakes, two tiny morsels, about an inch in diameter! Shared the chocolate dessert, it was very good, more than satisfied the sweet tooth. The patio looked very pretty, beside a creek, but very hot.
Gorgeous patio with view of mountains and creek. Great selection and delicious food!
Such a wonderful place! The food was amazing - we got the stuffed yorkies and both got the ribeye and a chocolate cake for dessert and everything was delicious. The drinks were also wonderful with a great local selection and all of them were delicious! It was good value for a nice date night, but maybe not for an entire family dinner. The service was prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was quiet with views of the mountains through the trees and a little creek running alongside. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in Canmore who wants a lovely dining experience for a couple or small family :)
Had lunch on the patio. Great location overlooking a crystal clear creek. Had lunch and we ordered starters and all were excellent.
The highlight was the cauliflower bites, absolutely outstanding.
I highly recommend the Sterling Grill and the hotel looks fantastic as well.
This was an interesting experience. To start, I selected outdoor seating on open table as the view is what drew me to this restaurant. When I got in, they seated me inside. I asked to move outside and they said there was a waiting list. So someone else from my party put themselves on the waiting list and maybe 15-20 minutes later they said a table was available so we asked to move outdoors. This seemed to be a huge inconvenience to them. We offered to settle our tab inside and then move outside and our server seemed ok with this but the guy in charge of the outdoor seating seemed very unhappy. Anyways, they moved us and other than bringing us our food, no one bothered to come and ask if we wanted anything else or check up on us. Food was OK at best - nothing special here.
Beautiful views on the patio. Reasonable prices, and delicious food!
The Kings Plate is always delicious. I’d just say that for the price, portions could have been a little large.
Quality was excellent!
Our food was ok, overpriced for amount and menu items as limited for meal options. Great cocktail list. Service was great and location perfect.
Best restaurant in Canmore!
We always come here to celebrate special occasions!
Still the best outside deck in Canmore !
Excellent Service & Food !
Fantastic View !
Great value !
Beers, nachos, beers. So good
The Stirling deck is the most outstanding outdoor eating spot in Canmore.
Anthony took excellent care of us and was super personable !
Food was great !
View spectacular !
See you soon !
From the time we were greeted until we left, we had a great dining experience. We are a family, including teens, and found the food and service was excellent. Jacob provided not only terrific service but pride in the quality of our meal. His guidance in selecting items on the menu and his sense of humour made our meal enjoyable and memorable.
The Menue is small .The food is very good and plentiful.
Food was lacklustre and so was the service. Ordered fish and chips, the coleslaw had no taste, fries were stuck together and some of our pieces of fish were tail ends and so more batter than fish. The kids meal was supposed to come with ice cream with chocolate sauce for dessert, but it wasn’t even offered. We asked for cutlery after we got our drinks and appies, and the one male waiter had an attitude and said he couldn’t carry the cutlery while he was delivering the plates. Asked for malt vinegar and was brought white vinegar, had to ask again. Will not be back, disappointed. Too many other excellent restaurants in Canmore to choose from
Overall good experience. However when I booked I didn’t realize there were two areas of the restaurant the lounge and the fine dining area. It would be nice to have that clearly highlighted when booking the different areas and also different menus for each. I thought we would be in the fine dining section but ended up in the lounge which was still fine and food was still good.
The menu was quite confusing, no one told us there were two different menus. Both menus only had a few selections. The waitress was rushing us to order and she was terribly difficult to understand. She seemed quite lost. The only good thing about this place were the wings really. But the price of the food was definitely not worth what the food tasted like. I would definitely not recommend.
We had a wonderful evening with Amy as our server. The maple glazed halloumi and pears, the teriyaki cauliflower, and the Iceland cod were outstanding. The amaretto sour and the winter sangria were the perfect touch to this delectable dinner. Amy was attentive and hilarious. She went the extra mile to make our evening the most fun!
We had a great experience at the Stirling Grill. The kids meals are very well priced with decent portion sizes. My son ordered the fish and chips, he said it was the best fish he has tried! The crab cakes were absolutely delicious. I would also highly recommend the legendary burger. The wait and kitchen staff were friendly and prompt as well. We will be sure to book here again when we visit Canmore.
Busier than expected. Good value. Appetizers are very small, would not recommend sharing.
Cool vibe. Great food.
The family said that it was the best food and service they have experienced in Canmore.
Excellent as always!
It took an hour for our appetizers to show and they were cold and dry. The main courses were small and watery. This was definitely a huge disappointment.
