We had a most enjoyable dinner. Our server William was friendly & knowledgeable. The food was delicious. Even the music playing was a great mix!
Had a great birthday experience here. Food and service was excellent. Would recommend anyone to come here for a great dining experience and amazing food! Live DJ on Saturday nights.
Food was excellent , loved the ambiance . Found this restaurant as part of the Goodman theatre site but did not receive a discount so do not go based on that! It was however a wonderful dining experience!
was just ok service was good food was ok
I was there celebrating my 18th anniversary with my husband and a few friends. I must say our time there was awesome. The food was amazing, the ambiance was upscale and our waiter was very attentive and friendly. I would definitely refer this restaurant to a friend and I will be in attendance with each referral !
The service here was horrible. Our server approached our table with a preconceived idea of whether we were going to tip or not. Because of this, she lagged throughout our dinner. She never approached our table to see how things were going or if we needed any assistance. Every time we needed her, we had to haul her down and when we did, she took FOREVER to come or approached the table with an attitude. We were sitting across another table that was in her section, and the service she gave them appeared to be upbeat and considerate, which we didn’t get at all. Honestly, I don’t want to come back here at all because of how we were approached throughout the entire evening. My recommendation is to either reeducate your team on your code of ethics or teach them how to not wear their emotions on their sleeve.
Nice ambiance! Loved the food! First time. Will definitely come back!
We decided to try STK for our NYE dinner because it was one of the only available steakhouses for a last minute reservation. To say we were disappointed is an understatement as we are still talking about the price tag for a below average meal. Our waitress for one did not know any of the specials and did not seem professional for a steakhouse which put us off on the wrong foot. Then from there, the food was just not good. One of the specials was king crab legs that were $25 a piece. There were 4 of us so we each got one, and there was barely any crab to eat. We then received our oysters that were watery and our steak was not tasteful at all. The only great thing we had was the dessert. After we received a hefty bill, none of us could get over the fact that we just paid that much money for a meal that was unimpressive. Ambiance for NYE was good as it was upbeat but that’s about it. Now I understand why there is always availability on OpenTable. Safe to say none of us will be going back or recommending STK. So many other great steakhouses to choose from in Chicago.
STK has an upbeat vibe. The food is delicious! I ordered the Sea Bass..YUMMY. This is my second visit and will definitely return!!
A group of 5 of us attended dinner on NYE. Service was great, and the food was wonderful. The only reason I would not give it 5 stars is that our waiter made us split the bill on our end (we had to identify each card, and the total amount we want charged on each card), vs. her just scanning each card with what we ordered. It took longer than expected, which led us to celebrate the new year at our table.
Great place to have dinner on NYE otherwise!
Went for NYE with my girlfriend. Service was great, and they had plenty of decorations and built up a good NYE atmosphere. The food and drinks were good, but not worth the price tag. I expected a little higher quality, but overall was still a good experience. Probably won’t go back.
My family enjoyed it again as well. Food was great! The steak was great! And it’s hard to impress my brother with steaks. He liked it! We will be back again. Thanks to the general manager again for coming to the table, talking , calling us by name. Impressive! Thanks again!
We were celebrating an anniversary and nothing special was done for it. For the price of the restaurant the food should have been better. Happy we went for the experience but wouldn’t go again.
My wife and i went to STK Chicago for dinner on my birthday New Year's Eve. Everything was amazing drinks, appetizers, dinner and deserts. Our waitress Joanne was attentive she provided us with excellent service.
My family and I went to the STK in Orlando which was fantastic. The one in Chicago was one of the worst meals we have ever had collectively! Literally the entire meal aside from the desert was inedible. We order many of the same items we did in Orland and it was served and tasted totally different. My wife had ordered a risotto with shaved truffle. The shaved shiitake mushrooms the cheapest mushrooms on top instead. The steaks had zero flavor no pepper or salt! The oyster Rockefeller was disgusting and smelled.
It's interesting that through the years the STK in Chicago is always available via open table. Whether it's a Friday or Saturday night every reservation is open at anytime. I have never seen that at a restaurant in downtown Chicago. It's no wonder they are always available and with that food they are serving they might not have any availability much longer!
Went for New Years and the place was decorated so fun! Felt like a party.
We had an excellent time, the food was wonderful, and the atmosphere very relaxed.
Everything was great from start to finish! Our server Elizabeth was excellent!
This was a Christmas dinner, wait time terrible, food substandard. Only nice thing about evening was Elizabeth our server.
Food is bland and tastes likes its from a can. They no longer had one of the sides we ordered and automatically substituted with another one without letting us know. They then continued to charge for the original.
It was Christmas Day. They were under staffed but they did a great job taking care of me and my group. Manager let us know they were running behind and this was appreciated. I’m sure to eat there again. Food was outstanding.
Made a reservation for 7:30pm and didn’t get seated until around 8:15pm. Our server took about 10 minutes to “greet” and when he came over he didn’t say his name just “do you want something to drink besides water?” My husband ordered a beer and the server walked away before I could tell him what I wanted. The beer was delivered over 10 minutes after putting the order.
We didn’t get any bread service until we flagged a buster down and he brought it over. We finally got our food at 9pm! The food wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either.
Once again we had to flag our server down to pay and no dessert or refills were offered.
Worst dining experience I’ve ever had for a high end restaurant. Been to STK multiple times in Vegas and in Beverly Hills. Love this spot
Chicago experience included: reservation confirmed 3 times before arrival (by their harassing calls) and then not being seated until 55 minutes after time. Hostess rolled her eyes (yes) when asking if we were close to a table 30 minutes in and sighed. No eye contact after that. It was honestly hysterical how little this hostess wanted to be there or wanted to help anyone. Rude conceited bartender. The different bar literally poured Ruffino sparkling rose in from of our eyes an then charged us for Chandon rose. Had our young daughter with us to dine so she got a Mac and cheese. Asked questions about it being fancy or kid friendly. Showed up with lobster all thru it. Zero heads up on that! Steak under cooked and had to send back. Tasted great after fixed. So give them credit on a nice bone in filet. Food took just short of an hour to arrive. Old fashioned didn’t have the lux cherries or orange peel on arrival.
Overall - just a bad experience. Considerably awful compared to the other STK locations. DJ was great. Vibe was fun. But no chance we go back to the chicago location. Expensive. Primadonna staff. Slow. Unfortunately just a big let down for our evening.
Horrendous service followed by excuse and excuse for the service. Staff has an average age of 19. Had to wait an hour despite a reservation
Yes my boyfriend and I had been to dinner on Christmas Day and the food was outstanding...The staff is amazing especially Jose he is always so accommodating and sweet makes our time there amazing..Especially on Christmas Day when by boyfriend fell ill during dinner...Jose was amazing by getting him water coming to the table to check on him ..and even getting us a cab so we would be able to go and get him home quickly....Jose is amazing absolutely adore and love him ..he is amazing we..are intending to come back as soon his surgery is over to visit again...Tell Jose Bridgette and Bryan say thank you for the every thing ..❤️❤️
Chriatmas dinner. Kitchen was understaffed. Water was exceptional
Service was ridiculously slow. The waitress did her best but we shouldn’t have to wait 90minutes for 3 kids meals a salad and a steak. Restaurant was only 3/4 full so I don’t really understand the explanation that they had a lot of reservations. Plates weren’t clean, no manager to be seen and a lot of random guys hanging around the kitchen but clearly not cooking or serving. I would never recommend this place.
The hostesses at the front desk barely acknowledged us when we came in. They really need an attitude adjustment.
Our server was very nice, but had way too many tables and was on the run all night. When he did stop to talk with us, he was very charming. The kitchen must have been completely overwhelmed, as we waited an hour after our appetizer before we got our entrees. My gem salad was completely missed. The server did acknowledge the mistake and took the salad and the appetizer off the bill.
Come on, you have a very expensive restaurant. You need to provide good service also.
The food was phenomenal!!!! We chose this place on Christmas to eat dinner. Our waiter was greedy, but the time waiting for food was well under par. We were there for over 3 hours which was unacceptable. Tables around us got their meals faster than us even when we had been sitting there for 45 minutes before them.
So I’ll start this out by saying what I said to the couple that sat next to us and were wonder if a waiter would ever show up: if you have somewhere to be, this isn’t the place for you. The experience is painfully slow, and for Christmas, was pretty disorganized. The food was just okay. My steak was fine but my partner didn’t like the way it was cooked. The lobster was fun trying to get out of the shell without making a mess. Service was horrible for a $300 dinner. Honestly? I tried it to say “been there, done that, bought the tshirt”. I’ll stick to Steak 48 though.
I had been to this restaurant before on a date and was impressed by the great service and delicious food. I recently returned for Christmas dinner with my family and was very disappointed with my experience. The wait time between ordering and receiving my food was about an hour for a salad and the same for a steak. The kitchen ran out of multiple food choices and did not inform servers which turned into me recieving food that I didn't order as a substitute for the missing items. There was also inconsistency in the cooking of the multiple steaks ordered. Overall I was disappointed by the lack of preparation for the holiday season.
Melt down for Christmas dinner. We had dinner reservations for 6 at six pm. Things started out ok - but when we hadn’t been served by 8:10pm it was clear the kitchen had melted down so we asked for the manager and left. We had two apps and drinks - were charged for just round one of drinks and left a generous tip, but shouldn’t be this type of experience.
We went for Christmas dinner. Our server was excellent and properly solicitous. The food was excellent. Our meal was delayed due to a large private party, this was annoying. We did not get an apology from the manager. Otherwise a good time was had by all.
Super fun and energy filled environment. Our waitress was friendly and patient.
The music was amazing and made our night. We brought our kids for Christmas dinner and the total experience was memorable. I will definitely be back.
Navidad muy bien atendiendo
We held my best friends bachelor party dinner there for a small group and we were quite disappointed with the service. It started with a bartender that was rude at the bar, followed by being seated quite late and was capped off with extremely slow service at the table. It was not busy as the tables next to us were empty. Not worth what we spent and not the experience and service we are used to from STK in Las Vegas.
STK never disappoints. I've been here a dozen times and it's always like a first experience. I absolutely love them! It's great for dinner with a significant other, friends, family or special occasion. You can't go working with anything on the menu.
Amazing food and service. Great cocktails. Highly recommend!
Unfortunately the hostess was not very good. We arrived early- before the restaurant was open. The hostess didn’t seem to know what to do. After consulting with other staff she said they weren’t open yet. We asked if we could wait and the bar and again, after consulting someone, she said that was allowable. Our reservation was at 4:00 but we were not seated until 4:20.
Other than the awkwardness of that initial impression, we found everything else very good. Service was great, ambiance was very nice, music was very acceptable.
I had one of the night’s dinner specials which was salmon. It was delicious! probably the best salmon dish I’ve ever had! My partner had a petite filet that was tasty. Fortunately we also ordered a side dish, truffle French fries, that were delicious otherwise she would have had only steak for her dinner.
We has the Bonino for dessert. Again, delicious.
The restaurant seemed a bit pretentious. With so many choices in the area I’m not sure I was welcomed as much as I expected for the price I paid.
