Would not recommend. Service is horrific and extremely slow and not at all attentive. Experienced unnecessary attitude from the waitress on very basic things that any patron would expect. Better service to be had in a fast food chain. Response from Mgt was an apology and compensated us for a dessert. Unfortunately can’t do anything about the tip as they automatically applied 20%. Never again will I go back!

Food was pretty bad. Cheese in grill cheese wasn’t melted. Never got a soup I ordered. Staff was rude. Came from another state for my daughter 16th. Had to ask several times for them to bring a candle and sing.

Our drinks were amazing, but we were so disappointed in the food. My husband got a ribeye that was completely dried out. My chicken tacos were not even edible because the chicken was so dry.

Horrible experiences. I felt like I was in twilight zone with the way we were treated here. I have never experienced such an unorganized , unbothered atmosphere. Every person there was on their own time clock, in their own world. The hostess literally kept disappearing for 10 -15 mins on end with people pouring thru the doors and everyone staring at each other wondering if she will ever come back. The waitress ( who I will commend as a former waitress myself , was very busy) but she would disappear her self. For longer periods of time. What was supposed to be A quick lunch with a 3year old… turned into a THREE HOUR event. Thank goodness my child was an angel, but once our food eventually came out we just asked for the check and ran out the door. Couldn’t even do any dessert like we planned on ( main reason of going there). Such a disappointment

Sever tried his best, but restaurant is short staffed. Poor layout when you walk in and you are crammed in small area with hostess who is busy running up and downstairs. Should have two hostesses, 1 at door on first level and 1 upstairs to scout/organize open tables with radios. Our actual meal took 1.5 hours from ordering to arrive. Super slow kitchen, one meal actually came out cold somehow. Server removed that meal off of bill. Others who were seated were frustrated and we watched 2 groups leave before even receiving their meal because of the wait time issues. Lots of traffic in and out of kitchen, but very little actual food came out. The shakes for the kids were the only good things. I never write reviews, but for the price of the food, I had to share. Bottom line, don’t waste your time sitting there waiting for food when you could be out enjoying the city.

Music was loud, therefore I couldn’t hear the person with me and people had to have loud conversations. Food took about 2 hours to come out, also I had to look at the menu 4 times because what I wanted was not available that was for main and dessert. Table was not clean right and sticky. The server was very nice but would not come around often had to ask other servers for things. Reservations was for 1:30pm and was seated at 2:00pm. Main course came out at almost 4:00pm. First time to this location and I didn’t enjoy the experience.

Had a reservation at 1 and seated on time. Waitress came over at 1:45 and would only take order for drinks and appetizers. These items came out an hour later and were lukewarm. At this point we had other plans and did not even have time to order entrees. The menu states brunch menu until 3pm. We decided what we wanted from that menu and then were informed when finally waited on that they were using the lunch/dinner menu. We were in the restaurant for over 2 hours and didn't even have the opportunity to eat a meal.

Waited over an hour to be seated. Once seated waited 30 minutes longer for our food (hamburgers). Ultimately had to leave as we had a show and we could not wait any longer. we can’t attest to the food quality. Management is seriously lacking and/or severely understaffed. Avoid at all costs if you don’t have 2.5 hours to eat and a lot of patience.

Service was slow, food was cold, order was wrong. We ordered onion rings with all of our burgers, we received fries. We ordered sauce on the side, sauce was on the burgers. Not the best experience for my 11 year old daughter and niece. We went to Parm for dinner and it was a totally different experience. Delicious hot foods, attentive staff. Even my daughter and niece noticed the difference (at 11). Save yourself time and money. Eat somewhere else.

When we sat down, we were informed they were only serving brunch. The lunch/dinner menu is not available until 3 pm. They also are not using the holiday menu. This was not advertised on the website. We ordered one Ocean Blue goblet. When the server brought the goblet out, it had blue gummy bears in the goblet instead of sharks. I asked the server why it did not have sharks in it. She said that they "did not have any more". Our food then arrived. At this point, we still did not receive our remaining drinks even though our server was standing next to the drink machine talking to another employee. Once the server realized that our food arrived, our server brought over three out of the four drinks we ordered. She then walked away. Since we could not find our server, we had to ask another server to find our server in order to get the last drink. I have been to four other Sugar Factory locations. We have always received high quality service from those locations. The service at the Time Square location was highly disappointing, especially because we had to pay the 20% mandatory gratuity for such a poor service.

We had a 12:30 reservation on a not busy weekday, but waited 30 minutes to be seated and over an hour before we even had water on our table. After two hours we still hadn't been served our appetizers (which arrived After our entrees were served). The food was ok, and the children enjoyed the novelty drinks. But worst service I've had in NYC (and I've lived here for 20 years), and terrible value overall. Too bad because the concept is great and the decor was fun.

The restaurant is decorated amazingly and all of the staff was very welcoming! Our server Paula was the best and so helpful with my daughter and the rest of our party. Thank you for making it a special dinner for us!

Very disappointing, didn’t even get my food, the 3 others eat alone as mine got left off, the apology was not worth the air that muttered it out and to top it off they still wanted to add 30 bucks service charge to my bill, yea right !!

We had a fantastic experience here. It started off rough - the music was so loud it was upsetting to my daughter who has sensory issues and we were going to have to leave. The team at Sugar Factory went above and beyond to help us and make her feel comfortable, from finding us the quietest table to turning the music down multiple times. Everyone who works here was so very nice!! Oh and the food & drinks were amazing. Highly recommend!!!

The ladies room had two of three stalls not working and leaking water on floor. The service was really slow. One bartender making all those drinks for everyone. When food came out…everyone’s but one did not. It took forever for that one to come out. Didn’t have the dessert my daughter wanted we asked for two coffees…finally came out but with no milk or sugar. Asked for that and that took forever and was cold to drink. Husband was losing his mind. Automatic 20% gratuity added to every check. Did not warrant that at all. One time experience…never again. Overpriced and overhyped.

I made a reservation 6 weeks in advance. We were looking forward to deliberating my daughter’s 16th bday. When I arrived I was told just a few minutes. It took 30 minutes to seat us with a reservation. Then another 20 minutes to get a waiter to take food order. Then we are told at 2:50 pm that we can not order from the lunch menu. They will not accept our order we had to order from the breakfast brunch menu. We were not there for breakfast and even though lunch was 10 minutes away he wouldn’t take order. We had to walk out and leave and find another lunch spot. I am very disappointed with the service and how we were not able to order lunch at 2:50 pm by the time the order would have been received in kitchen it would have been lunch time.

Service was terribly slow. My daughter ordered an waffle which did not come out with the rest of the food, we were promised it would be done "soon". After about 30 minutes we were told the waffle iron was not working. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else.

Lousy service. Food mediocre and came out at different times. Space is showing wear. Bathroom gross. Overpriced. On top of it they charge a 20% gratuity for all parties, so clearly there’s no incentive to provide better service. Too bad because kids really look forward to this place. Management needs to step it up.

Food was ok but service was absolutely horrible! We barely ever saw our server. It cost us over $200 for dinner for 3. Food was mediocre but wouldn’t return strictly based on poor service. They charge an automatic 20% gratuity but don’t tell you that. I’m typically a 25-30% tipper but our server didn’t even deserve the 20% they charge. I’m glad I noticed it before I double tipped her

My wife and kids and I had a GREAT time at Sugar Factory for my daughter’s birthday! We were 8 people so our table wasn’t immediately ready, but the manager (Elvis) made sure it was a memorable experience!! The food was very good, milkshakes were exceptional and then they brought out a HIGE surprise ice cream sundae for our entire crew!! Thank you so much Elvis and team for making her birthday special.

We got there early and I was happy to be accommodated despite it being crowded, however our waitress messed up our order repeatedly and was very slow. We had to constantly ask the other waiter for assistance and the food was just ok in our opinion.

Unfortunately we did not have the experience we were hoping for. Maybe an off night for the restaurant but service was slow and inattentive. Meals did not come out at the same time and two were sent back because they didn't taste right. Management did not come out to follow up although we weren't charged. I would probably come back for dessert only but maybe try another location.
