The food was overall good, however, when there is a party of 4, all guests should receive their entree at the same time.
Pleasantly surprised. Indian food has come a long way from the regular butter chicken and goat biryani The food was very tasty and service also very friendly.
We went for New Years, we had to go early because the later reservations were already full. Although it wasn’t busy, the service was a bit slow. Our server was also the bartender but as I said the restaurant wasn’t busy. He was very pleasant and tried his best. The food was excellent; hot and very flavourful. We have been before, but the food this time was the best we have eaten so far.
You must go to Sula! The food is the die for! We ordered the veg biriyani, veg coconut and bhagare banigan and wow. This was our second time here in the last month and Sula did not disappoint.
The only negative is that the restaurant was very cold when we arrived which made dining a little uncomfortable. That said we were there shortly after opening.
Excellent service food was so delicious
This is far away the best Indian restaurant on Vancouver. Food, service and ambient outstanding. Amazing experience.
The food came out very quickly, their kitchen is a well oiled machine!
Every dish had its own while factor, nothing was bland, or over spiced, most of the chaat dishes were amazing!
Their naan was chewy, crispy, hot and fresh.
The chat Puri and all other things panipuri related were a no brainer, a melody of flavours that would explode in your mouth as soon as you bite down, from the pomegranate seeds to the chutney inside, it was something special.
Sula on Main st was not as nice as the Commercial Drive Sula location. The cocktails were unbelievably delicious at Sula on Commercial, whereas the cocktails were very mediocre at Sula on Main st -stick to beer. The service was a bit slow and overwhelmed and even with a reservation we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated -perhaps they were having an off night. However, the food was still delicious and it was a nice night out.
Fantastic although the 1.5 hour window was way too short for dinner. We were told that our time was up and we still had food on the table.
Good selection of well marked gluten and dairy free dishes.
Make a reservation for sure. The food is excellent.
We had a great time with amazing food and wonderful service.
A great Indian restaurant
Great food as always
The food was fantastic, the staff were all so friendly. Thank you for a lovely evening!
Wonderful service, delicious food, great cocktails!
Everything was perfect, including food, service and ambience. We'll definitely visit there soon again
Recently recommended to try Sula by a colleague, and was incredibly surprised. The food and service was amazing. Probably one of the best dining experiences recently.
Food was incredibly flavorful and with very generous portions, great atmosphere and friendly staff.
And to our surprise, reasonably priced.
I'll definitely be back again in the future.
Great restaurant! Best Indian food in Vancouver.
Excellent variety of food, the incorporation of some typical ‘street food’ has been so enjoyable. Attentive, friendly but non intrusive service, creative and beautiful presentation and delicious, fresh food make Sula a very worthwhile destination. Highly recommended.
We have been looking for an Indian Restaurant for a longtime and we have finally found it with Sula on Main! The food is so good. Using fresh herbs and ingredients you can tell the difference with the first bite. We had the Dine out Menu and had the chicken and lamb dish and both became favourites right away! The nann is wonderful soft and crunchy and coconut rice is a healthy serving cooked perfectly. We chose medium hot and it was just right for our palate. We had leftovers for lunch the next day. We can’t wait to go back and try different dishes on their menu.
Food was amazing, service was on point! We loved!
Food and atmosphere was wonderful, service was a bit spotty but overall very good and would recommend eating here, you won't regret it!!
Such a beautiful place! Servers are so welcoming and food is so delicious! Everything meet our expectations. Table was spaced out for covid safety. 10 out of 10!
Service was excellent, beautiful table setting, food was totally outstanding. Best restaurant experience in a long time
Excellent service. The food was outstanding. We will definitely return.
Food was fantastic and the service was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
Came here during Dine Out Vancouver during COVID. I reviewed their web page prior to booking and it was nice to see the COVID protocols they had in place including temperature checks on patrons. When we arrived, they did not do the temperature checks on us nor on any of the other patrons that followed. The room is beautifully re-done from the old Reef restaurant that used to occupy the space for the past 21 yrs. And they have installed large plexiglass screens between tables for COVID protection. I was satisfied with the COVID compliance so now onto the review....
We ordered off the Dine Out Vancouver menu ($30) knowing that this would be a lot of food and we were not disappointed. We ordered the spinach, potato, onion pakora and the chicken tenders as appetizers. Both were great tasting as these were large portions. For the main, I ordered the chicken tikka masala (hot spice level), coconut rice and the naan. The dishes came out in beautiful dishes and again the taste of each were great...the naan was sooo good and they did not hold anything back on the hot spice level. I barely got into the main before I was full...again nice large portion size. For dessert we sampled both the mango coconut rice pudding and the almond pistachio rasmalai cheesecake. These were nice refreshing desserts after such a large meal. They provided us take out containers and we left with meals for 2 persons.
The service was exceptional. I liked that they brought a large pitcher of water and left it on the table for patrons to fill their glasses. We had a chance to meet the owner and he explained how he selected this location trying to find an area with no Indian establishments in close proximity. Sula is a welcome addition to the Main St / Mt Pleasant restaurant scene.
It was a very positive food experience and I am happy to recommend Sula if looking for Indian food in the area.
