Chef Hiroki crafts delicate and imaginative dishes that pays homage to traditional Japanese cuisine with tasteful twists. Omakase is the best way to enjoy his creations and trust me, you will not be disappointed. Service was friendly and attentive and Chef Hiroki is eager to personally greet and welcome all of his guests.

Food is good though the choices are somewhat limited. The portions are very small. The cost is higher than the equivalent in other Japanese restaurants. Overall a bit disappointing though the staff is very friendly and the service excellent. I tried another Japanese restaurant the next day and the food was also very good but cheaper. Would not make it my first choice on the next trip to Vancouver.

We had our anniversary dinner at Super Hiro’s. This place was recommended by a friend and the owner is nephew of famous Vancouver based Japanese restaurant (Tojo’s).
Name of the restaurant sounds like fast food or fusion but it actually offers decent and authentic Japanese set menu with good quality.
There are special kinds of fishes ordered from Japan and the way of cooking is very authentic.
I highly recommend to go for the set menu (Omakase) for a nice dining experience.

Wonderful omakase experience, we will always entrust chef Hiro with choosing our menu for us … inspired choices, delicious dinner, warm and welcoming staff. It is our tradition to travel over the holiday, we totally enjoyed our entire Vancouver experience, but would consider returning simply for the pleasure of another of his meals.
Food was amazing and the ambience was zen-like. Hiro is an amazing chef and definitely a gem in the heart of Kitsilano.
Celebrated my birthday at Super Hiro's with the 7-course Omakase. The presentation was top notch, as well as the variety of different dishes, keep you on your toes for the next dish. The pumpkin soup was a perfect match to the winter night, with deep fried kale balls for that extra crunch. Very unique! The staff is very friendly, and if you are lucky (or not?), you'll get serenaded by Chef Hiroki Watanabe himself for your birthday too!

Food was good but not great. We had the omakase and did not feel it was worth the value. 5 of us including my kids dropped 300 dollars and still we were not full. We have to stop by a ramen place afterward and each of us had a ramen. That’s how small the portion was.
Great authentic Japanese food. We came here for our anniversary. Fresh seafood. Amazing customer service and we got to meet SUPER Hiro himself!
We do not recommend this restaurant. The food was good, BUT it is VERY expensive for what you get. For the $65/person Omakase 5 course dinner special, I expect more than only 8 pieces of inexpensive sushi fish. (e.g. Grunt). We agree with the Globe and Mail review written by Alexander Gill on June 21 2018, "If this restaurant is going to survive, it is going to require lower prices." We will not be back. And, we should have trusted our instincts and walked away when the we arrived on a Friday evening at 7pm to an empty restaurant.

The fish is exceptional, equal to the ones I had at top Tokyo sushi
restaurants. It is pricey, not for the faint hearted.
For foodies, who really enjoy and appreciate top grade sushi. This is one of 2 or 3 sushi restaurants in Vancouver that is up at this level: Masayoshi, Tetsu and Yuwa comes to mind. Cooked foods are prepared with love and respect for the job at hand.
We are so lucky to have these restaurants in Vancouver.

I didn’t want to write a review because I always want to be able to eat here. This place is going to be so hard to get in to in about 6 months max. Great service and I have never had such amazing sushi. Literally the best quality. We did the 5 course Chef menu. Which they ask items that you don’t like ahead of time. Then the chef curates a different meal for each table and you get surprised for each course. I was skeptic at first because I like sushi but I don’t love sushi. 2 hot dishes and 2 cold/sushi dishes.
Found out about Super Hiro's while looking for a new Omakase restaurant to try. Hiro and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Our group was celebrating a birthday and had the 6-course menu which was technically 7 with the dessert. Every dish was excellent and well presented. Hiro is another chef that has come out of the Tojo group. His personality shines and it shows in the dishes. We had a special birthday performance by the man himself. Maybe you'll be lucky as well?
If you have eaten omakase globally, you will be disappointed. This is not world class sushi nor food. Its average. They are trying hard but its not working.
Very friendly and personal service. Food presentation was outstanding and quality of food was very good.
We both had the 6 course Omakase but one person can have the 4 items and the other 6 if you like. You can also order a combo of the Omakase and a la carte. The food was outstanding, with a lot of attention to detail. The sashimi was so fresh and the cooked food something I have not had at any other Japanese restaurant. Seville was excellent with Hirohito taking the time to come and see how we were doing and how the food was. This is a new restaurant and I would highly recommend it, quality is exquisite.

We both ordered four course omakase as the server mentioned that some people felt the 4 course made them full.

The food took quite a long time to come out, given the kitchen did not seem at capacity and the restaurant was only half full. Our patience was rewarded as the food is very flavorful. The nigiri had wonderful texture and taste.
It'd be helpful to know in advance that the food will take some time to be prepared - we would have added additional appetizers if we knew.
Rice on nigiri wasn’t vinegar rice or had no vinegar taste whatsoever. Big let down at any Japanese restaurant
